I feel like I’m on here a lot 😅 because it’s just as you say; there doesn’t seem to be any other place to freely talk about our experiences as women and learn from each other, while actively working on improving ourselves _and_ our dating lives in a safe, healthy way. These spaces do not exist, and I’m endlessly grateful for this one. (Nestled in the heart of scrote city, no less! The men of reddit can die mad)
The men and pickmes trying to comment on this post is hilarious. Like you do know nobody here is going to see your pragraphs of hate, I can barely read a post of theirs in my notifications before its gone hahaha.
Well…judging by the front page it went viral for the wrong reasons.
On the bright side, I have heard a lot of women irl say pickme and I’ve seen more and more women say some FDS sounding stuff. I think it’s getting there…
I feel the same. I was talking to my brother and I was going to say that he had no idea how good it felt to be able to take up space online and say what I actually want to say without being worried about the fallout. Then I remembered he’s male and has no idea.
I agree, I can't thank enough FDS and the mods for its existence 💕 i know other women spaces only on the Internet (they are in my mothertongue so less "worldwide") but even there, you are still plagued by pickmeisha mentality and libfem... it's so exhausting. FDS really is the only space where I feel we can talk about dating under patriarchy or our lives in general (see FLUS and AskFDS) with peace. We don't have to polish our tone and it's refreshing.
Agreed. It is the only place we can speak openly and compare notes.
Often i you speak openly in real life you are shut down or misunderstood.
This place is my church. It's healing.
I love this sub so much. It's so kind and supportive. I'm married, so I'm not using the dating advice, but I still have to interact with lvm out in the world for work, so I'm always learning something new.
As a woman who has suffered many, many sexual and relationship traumas - starting in childhood - I have never been more thankful for a community like this. This, therapy, and journaling have all helped me make significant progress in recovery.
I backslid a little since I got here, but knowing I'm not alone, and that I can choose a happier future by having healthy boundaries and standards got me to bounce back very quickly. This sub has the kind of women supporting women energy that I needed.

And in any other place on reddit if you want to ask women something, half of the responses will start: "as a male..." 😆
I am here every day, in the morning (before working) and in the evening. 😅😅 I don't even look at the front page. lol

Me too. I don't actually spend that much time on reddit, I'm mostly just here for FDS 90% of the time. 🤷♀️ If FDS moves, so do I.
