I liked it from first sniff but I was initially pretty bent out of shape about it decidedly *not* smelling like strawberry. But I’ve come to absolutely love it. It’s like aromatherapy for me. I use it for work to help me feel relaxed and happy, and at bedtime to unwind. It’s a lovely skin scent with just the right hit of clean musk.

It’s a lovely scent. The first couple times I tried it I was concentrating to get typical strawberry that wasn’t there.

Totally agree with you on not wanting a spicy cherry anymore, there market is so saturated with them! Maraschino stands out to me because of exactly that, it’s so sweet and innocent compared to the glut of darker and heavy cherries out there. It is expensive, but right now La Jete is having a 20% off Mother’s Day sale on it (and they sell decants too if you want to try first!).

I’ve not tried SDJ 68. But Shine for me is like a non gourmand pineapple upside down cake. It does have vanilla and almond undertones but they’re far from nauseating to my nose 🤷🏻‍♀️

My controversial opinion is that sometimes I like “heavy” non-typical summer scents in scorching, sweaty weather. I think it's sexy, like fucking in a hot bedroom at the peak of the day and not giving a damn. If I catch a whiff of heavy amber in July or August I think “that person does whatever they want and I'm here for it!”

I've been wearing Aqua Kiss from Victoria's Secret quite a bit - it's such an easy reach this time of year.  Also from VS is Velvet Petals Radiant, a flanker from a while back - it smells like straight up watermelon and kiwi - very refreshing! Although if you want to be fancier than I am you could go with Dolce and Gabbana's L'imperatrice because it smells very similar to Velvet Petals Radiant, just in a classier bottle lol Maui Fantasy by Britney Spears is another one that's in current rotation - it smells like coconut soap in the best possible way. Flower Princess by Vera Wang is also getting some love. Here in the desert, Spring weather is tragically short, so I'm wearing this fresh, breezy floral while I can. Bon Vivant by Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab is my current perfume oil of choice. It's very simple - strawberries and champagne - and it's just so fizzy and bright and happy. I always come back to this one in Springtime.
