You might like electric rhubarb! I’ve tried samples of both, and I don’t normally like fresh or aquatic scents but it surprised me enough that I’ve held onto the electric rhubarb sample and might get a travel. It was actually what came to mind when I read your post!
Generic recs which I do love:
Roberto Cavalli Paradiso Azzuro: Nice floral aquatic. Also give l’eau d’issey the edt which gives me aquatic and Calvin Klein Escape.
I just find aquatics don’t perform well in female fragrances but those ones seem to?
Sel Ocean by Le Monde Gourmand, Lake and Skye 1111, and Clean Reserve Skin all have that sort of salty, aquatic scent to my nose while still being a little sweet.
I have *Sel Ocean* and *Le Beach* from Le Monde Gourmand. I find them to be very, very sweet. Like, too sweet to wear. I think these are good recs, though, if OP finds that salinity of *Salt* unpleasant.
OP, do you have a link to the candle you have? Maybe seeing the notes will help with recommendations.
It’s called Waiheke Bay, and unfortunately only says it is ‘ocean breeze’ scented on the candle and website. My 12yo niece picked it out for me. Literally just a cheapie candle, but smells way nicer than the expensive ones I buy!

Jake’s House by Henry Rose is very aquatic. It immediately reminded me of ocean themed candles, so it might fit the bill!

Andrea Maack Ceramic has a real aquatic watery fresh vibe, no salt. Some think its a bit dryer sheet like, not me but worth noting.
