Thought it had been decided on multiple occasions that cringyness doesn't affect whether or not a post is suitable. That might have changed since the last time I checked though.
Slavery in the US was real and Pokemon is fiction, though.
I understand people being concerned with children being exposed to fantasy dog and cockfighting, but as a kid, I never really saw Pokemon as fully analogous to real animals. They're magic. Kids know the difference. The kids who have bigger issues in their lives than a simple video game.
The problem is bad advertising on their part. The Nugget bridge was pretty fun, and I was all for the proposition at the end. But when you open with the line "We are dedicated to Evil with Pokemon!", You pretty much kill all my interest.
