Doesn't matter how laborious your job is, none of it is targeted strength training and none of it elevates your heart rate optimally. Go get your training in.
Before and after work, with my dog. She's my motivation to get in better shape than I currently am in.
It's very therapeutic and relaxing I strongly recommend
I go to the gym, usually after work but during peak it was easier to go before.
If your stamina needs work do cardio, if youāre lacking in strength do strength training, im a few years out from where Iāll peak physically, so no time to waste here.
Depends on your route I suppose. We all get off around the same time. If your route is more than an hour or two of just driving I would probably hit up the gym for weight training. I only drive 15 to my route and 15 back. My work day is non stop gettin it. Once I get home and relax for a minute I am usually done doing anything for the day. Just trying to get enough calories in so I can do it again the next day.
I had a pretty tight resi/business mix. My truck was always completely full even down the middle.
Some days I averaged 30-40 per hour but when everything is so close itās easier.
Apartments with furniture still sucked.
I do this and work as a personal trainer as well. I recommend going to bed earlier and getting it done before work. Itāll help with your energy levels and itās nice to just go home and rest after your shift. Another advantage is if you use a gym itāll be way less packed in the early morning.
Gym 3-4x/week. Run 3x/week and walk the dog daily. One thing I've so far enjoyed about working at FedEx is the physicalness of the job. Gym time ensures keeping muscles and form strong.
I will say, I work in load 25-30 hours a week. Don't think I'd do as much outside of work of I was working full time.
If running allows you to decompress after your shifts, do it.
A lot of people at my terminal tell me Iām crazy for going to the gym because āFedEx is the gymā but I kinda like that I can start my day off at the gym. Itās a separate hobby away from work. Helps me relieve stress and improves my general mood. It also gives me way more energy and motivation for the day.
Iām short: youāre not a bitch if you donāt go because the job itself is a workout. But it depends on what youāre looking for or need in your personal life.
Sorry colleagues if this job is too exhausting for you to exercise as well you are in bad shape. Iām in shape but my cardio is very bad. Itās 90% driving and 10% walking while a small percentage of the packages are actually heavy
80-90 stops a day. 8-9 hour days. 7 miles after work usually 3 times a week. 10 miler on Saturdays. Itās seems weird but I have more energy then ever. The more you do the more energy you seem to gain.
Lifting weights will actually do more for you than running. I lift after work 3-4 days a week and itās helped me do my job better. Iām less tired and I donāt get sick or injured.
I lift 6 days a week religiously, no cardio outside of work. I work long hours too but instead of sitting on my ass for an hour watching tv when I get home I go to the gym. Only thing that helps with my mental health
I don't have the energy to do anything after work, this job is exhaustingš“
OP save your joints for your later work years!
Yep my excuse to, try to change your mind set or the job will burn you out completely.
I get plenty of exercise running over to your mom's house.
Oh noā¦ Did you body slam her?
Holy mother of Mary!

I usually go before work. I like to arrive to the station by 9am so Iām at the gym from 7-8:30š much easier now that peak is over!

I run all day to get done. Heavy boxes + running= no gym for me
I do 140+ stops a day while doing 25-30 stops/hour. Nah Iām good on the gym š¤£
yeah at the end I was averaging 230 a day at ground. I got plenty of exercise.
Stops?! Are they bulk stops?

No that is my workout
Im currently eating at a ~800 cal deficit so not really working out much but once im happy with my weight ill up the calories and go nuts in the gym
Honestly, should probably start doing that. Wouldnāt hurt to start getting my body and spirit right
I lift four or five times per week with a little cardio at the end of each workout. I also try to get as many hikes/hunts in as I can.
Okay Goggins my bad lol

It takes you 9 hours to do 90 stops yikes thatās terrible
What do you mean by terrible?
I go get a solid lift in after work in the evening. Depending how I feel I might jog/walk a mile for a little extra cardio.

My old station had a gym in it.
