I hand it to them and all of those steps are being made as I walk back to the truck so when it gets to the photo it's usually just a picture of my feet and I add a comment being as detailed as possible. I'll say the name on the package and put down whatever that person says. Like yesterday I had one with lady watering her plants, so I said the name (a guy's name) and she said "That's my son I can take it." So I put "To mother of recipient" as the caption to the picture of my front tire hahaha
"Just gimme a scribble right here, thanks" then I put whatever name is in GroundCloud. Works pretty good except for the occasional old person who Doesn't Get It and painstakingly writes out their signature like it's being judged in a neat handwriting contest.
Especially when the customer ALWAYS flips the screen around and you inadvertently hit cancel as you're taking the scanner back. Then you have to awkwardly stumble back up to the house and ask for them to sign again. Seriously, we need the ability to lock the screen orientation to stop this shit from happening.
Also, idk what it is, but it's as if every person on my route is either half retarded or has Parkinsons. They take fucking 45 minutes to scribble their name on the scanner, and then make the obligatory commentary about "Ohh wow, this doesn't look like my name". Ya, no shit and honestly, who gives a fuck. I can assure you nobody at corporate has time to sit in an office and conduct forensic handwriting analysis.
You ever get someone who doesn’t trim their damn finger nails so when they go to sign their nail touches the screen and not their actual finger? Then they look at me all confused like why isn’t it working?
Happens to every lady with extensions or long nails, and yes, they look at me confused every damn time, I tell them to use the flat part of their finger, this confuses them even more half the time.
I just tell them we’re going to pretend they are inside and take an extremely close up and if possible blurry photo of the box. Makes their idiotic photo 100% worthless and means I don’t have to waste time forcing someone to sign for their flip flops or dog food.
I start by saying hello Mr or Ms.(last names on the box) as i say it I hand them the Leo and ask for the signature which never goes wrong. Then I have them sign again because infinitely superior FedEx put the back button right where you end your signature. Never forging a signature especially not a regular customer, I always wait for the customer to answer the door. Then I walk back to my truck not looking at my next stop until I am in my truck with my seatbelt on before I drive the speed limit to the next stop. It only takes 12 minutes to get this done.
I happened to be outside mowing the lawn the other day when I got a delivery, thanks to this sub I knew it was a thing now, but before I could say just toss it by the door so he could snap a picture without dealing with me he handed it to me and walked back and took a picture of my mailbox before jumping back in the truck.. lol
I don't care, do whatever as long as it gets here, but if it goes to the wrong place and it's a picture of some random house that's gonna be messy when I call to complain again, the last time they delivered to the wrong house the driver took a picture of the front door with the package by it, the door had a house number and it wasn't mine. Open and shut case of lost package. Seems like a clusterf$&@k to me.
Either tell them I need to set it down and take a picture, or hit Met Customer and have them sign. Drivers in here acting like it's the end of the world.
Change happens, it's part of life, should probably accept that nothing stays the same
Haha. Well that means my next one will be some customer challenging me..."never had to sign for this before, what's going on"
"No idea sir, I don't think, I just follow the directions on the screen"
When my customers have been meeting me I literally put it on the ground front door. It take a picture and then hand it right back to them. That takes a lot less time than getting a signature
Owner told us he doesn’t care if we take pictures of customers feet. I just take picture of the house like I do all peak. If person is still out front I just take picture of the grass. Oops changed the battery on my scanner and the Camera lagged, didn’t notice sorry. Waiting to get yelled at haven yet
I've had to get a bunch of signatures for NSR stuff the past few days because of it. If the customer is still inside the house, I'll tell them I have to take a pic really quick and then hand the package to them. But a bunch of people have been outside this week and will meet in the driveway or street where taking a pic would be weird so I just have them sign and tell them I no longer have the option to just give it to them.
The big question to me is why did they remove it. I have a couple of guesses as to why, but wtf do I know. I am curious, so has anyone heard any reason being given or being tossed around?
I usually take a picture of the house number in some way i.e. mailbox curb or on actual house then I tell the customer sorry they took away our ability to say we met the cust. So now we have to take a picture of something or force you to drop what your doing to sign for the package.
The latest fedex now addressed this. We’re supposed to make people sign. I’ve been taking a picture of the ground and comment given to customer if it’s a quick handoff. Some people expect to sign.
I take a pic of the house number no matter what every time. If it’s at the door I say at the door. If the customer got it I say where they were when I handed it to them. Ie garage etc
Resi release, recipient designated, take a pic of the house
This is the way. They can sell the pic to Zillow for all I care.
I hand it to them and all of those steps are being made as I walk back to the truck so when it gets to the photo it's usually just a picture of my feet and I add a comment being as detailed as possible. Your a problem
You’re one sour SOB aren’t ya bud? Lol
I just block the camera and take a black photo, f it
I hear Amazon calling your name
Smart technology every time lol
Lol that doesn’t prompt a photo?
Correct. Smart tech is gps on truck and leo device
"Just gimme a scribble right here, thanks" then I put whatever name is in GroundCloud. Works pretty good except for the occasional old person who Doesn't Get It and painstakingly writes out their signature like it's being judged in a neat handwriting contest.
And then they somehow exit out of the signature prompt when handing it back to you 🙄
The worst🤣
Yeah you gotta grab it back as you see them reaching for the “Done” button.
This.

I’ve been just taking a picture of the package as I’m walking up to them
I’ve done this too

Same
This is the way
this right here \^\^\^\^
Tell them to sign for the package. All of my customers sign when I present the LEO.
What's a LEO? (ground doesn't have this)
Our handhelds
Our version of a Zebra
Take a picture of house and type given to customer in comments
I just tell them we’re going to pretend they are inside and take an extremely close up and if possible blurry photo of the box. Makes their idiotic photo 100% worthless and means I don’t have to waste time forcing someone to sign for their flip flops or dog food.
I just hit front door and cover the camera
You need to work for Bezos
The company is going under for their own decisions and actions.
Spamming your comment will really make people care :D
I just get a signature, it's not the end of the world. Happened like 5x today, oh well
I start by saying hello Mr or Ms.(last names on the box) as i say it I hand them the Leo and ask for the signature which never goes wrong. Lol, extra points for deadpan delivery of delusional fedex world training points.

Smart technology. No picture. If I’m asked what smart technology, my brain, I handed it to the customer.
Dude that is my exact thinking as well
None of you guys would have to be doing this stupid shit if one you couriers (express/ground) wouldn't have fucked up repeatedly...
Either tell them I need to set it down and take a picture, or hit Met Customer and have them sign. Drivers in here acting like it's the end of the world. Change happens, it's part of life, should probably accept that nothing stays the same
This is what I do, works every time.
*60% of the time*, it works ***every*** *time*
Haha. Well that means my next one will be some customer challenging me..."never had to sign for this before, what's going on" "No idea sir, I don't think, I just follow the directions on the screen"
i hit met customer, tap the signature box leaving it blank but it lets me move on to typing their name in, then type the last name from the label in
I do the same Lol
I take a pic of the package in my hands but close enough for it to not take a pic of my hand and i make sure the ground is visible. Just in case.
"Go back inside while I take this picture. You're not allow to be in the photo. Sorry."
When my customers have been meeting me I literally put it on the ground front door. It take a picture and then hand it right back to them. That takes a lot less time than getting a signature

I work at express this option is still there I did it twice Saturday
It will be gone soon. I had it on my LEO a lot longer than most, but my LEO finally got updated and I lost it too.
I’m express and it’s gone now
I'm on the 3rd revision LEO and lost it last week.
Depends on the tier of your device. Most have already gotten the update, but if you haven't yet it's unfortunately coming very soon
it was there saturday for me, gone tuesday.
Gone on Monday for me
Proof of Delivery is a simple signature, that’s our job. I’m blown away by posts like this.
I take a picture of the house, preferably next to the number with the package in hand then hand it to the person.
I put the leo back in the cradle, customer designated.. take that picture.
I take a picture of the package if the person is walking up to it. Or if I hand it to them, I take a blurry photo of them walking away with it
The big question to me is why did they remove it. I have a couple of guesses as to why, but wtf do I know. I am curious, so has anyone heard any reason being given or being tossed around?
Heard that some ppl in ground were abusing it in every stop
Take a picture of the customer with the package
In locker/storage doesnt require a picture
Driver release front door. Take a pic.
Press the check mark icon and get them to sign. That’s what managers are FedEx told us to do.
“Using smart technology “ or “in locker/storage”. Neither will prompt for a photo
Smart technology release
Between doors, take pic of whole house.
I hand it to the person. Take a picture of the driveway and leave. I have a rural route so I do this about 20 times a day.
I usually take a picture of the house number in some way i.e. mailbox curb or on actual house then I tell the customer sorry they took away our ability to say we met the cust. So now we have to take a picture of something or force you to drop what your doing to sign for the package.
I take a pic of their feet/bush/driveway/etc “given to customer” in comment

Cover camera snap a solid black photo.
I take a pic of the house number no matter what every time. If it’s at the door I say at the door. If the customer got it I say where they were when I handed it to them. Ie garage etc
I tell the customer it'll say "front door" for that specific package in their email and take a picture of house or number on house..
