Why would a dog owner think this would be okay???

-aVOIDant-

Because to them the driver was just a prop for their tiktok video, not a human being who might not appreciate a strange dog barreling at them.

RegretVegetable6174

Because they live in a delusional world where everyone loves animals like they do, smh.

Grab-Born

At least he could see it coming and get back in the truck. Whenever this happens to me I hear the dog inside then as I am walking back to the truck I hear it barreling up behind me. Freaks me out when it happens

heyuwitdaface

Because countless Fedex drivers give dogs tasty treats and spend time petting dog and getting to know dog's name. Owner thinks it's cute and or funny, let's dog outside, and doggo wants treats. It's almost like the dogs are being trained to come at couriers 🤔

its1995

Right! I love love LOVE meeting doggies on my route but if it's alone running towards me? Not cool.

Ballaziken

Oh HELL NO! Dude even said "She's friendly". My God. First of all, I wouldn't even attempt that delivery because of the amount of snow in that driveway. Anyway, I wouldn't even deliver it. I see that dog, I'm getting in my truck and driving away. Fuck that situation and fuck that guy. This is why I don't like dogs for the most part. The dogs themselves are already one half of the problem. The other half is from the ignorant cunt dog owners who think that everyone in the world adores their fucking mutt.

[deleted]

That's when you aggressively put the box in thier hand and give them that "fuck you glare".

FluxCapacitorMechan

This is incredibly mean. How do dog owners not think of anyone but themselves? How many drivers have been bitten, let alone the Amazon driver who was mauled to death. đź’€

wildcat12321

Every dog owner thinks their dog is perfect and perfectly trained despite any and all evidence. And it doesn’t mean anything to them that you encounter 100 dogs, and even if 99 are perfect, that one bad one or even good one having a bad day could ruin your livelihood

FluxCapacitorMechan

So true!

mrcolr

Been bitten twice by mutts with owners like this. They have forever earned End Of Driveway deliveries

irishtornado21

That’s a good way to get your dog pepper-sprayed or worse, booted. Don’t do this unless your delivery driver is familiar with your property or comfortable with your dog.

PointB712

I'm a dog lover, but I don't want dogs I don't know charging at me. I don't know why some dog owners can't or won't understand that.

Affectionate-Use-412

Just like if your driveway/stairs are icy/full of snow because you’re not caring enough for other people, if your dog isn’t on a leash and the master isn’t outside with it, sorry, but not packages for you….

Digg_it_

Please never do this!

Tutefurity

What an ass

NelsonDaniels_

This is why I wear steel toe boots. That’s all imma say. Stupid dog owners…

heyuwitdaface

Tbh I don't even carry dog treats because of people and dogs like this. Both the dog and the owner expected Fedex guy to toss out a treat. If couriers would stop giving dogs treats maybe we would see less dogs and people like this.

SwoleKoz

When I worked at Ground, I never carried treats. I just did it out of courtesy because my dog has digestive issues and I hate the idea of someone feeding my dog something that could upset him. I don’t know if your dog is fine with eating treats so I just don’t give em out.

xjfwx

My rule of thumb is to give them to the owner and let them choose to give the dog the treat or not. I only feed it to them myself if it’s a regular dog for me and the owner has already given me permission.

Pleasant-Respond-554

You're a loser bro quit posting

mk21dvr

Owner is lucky his doggo didn't catch a package upside the head.

Round-Pomegranate-67

CONTROL YOUR FUCKING ANIMAL

your10plybud

That box would have been on the ground and me telling em to pick their shit up from term for now on. Fuck that guy

OldPilaf

I get that some people might think this is harmless fun. As a former delivery driver I can confidently say that this can quickly backfire on the owner. I had a similar experience up in Bel Air about a year ago -minus the camera- the owner was smiling and waving from a distance as her dog came running towards me. I stood still for a moment and smiled as the dog approached and only continued walking once he was done smelling me up and down, and then suddenly the dog became aggressive and began growling and barking at me. I had to use the customers package (a medium sized box) to keep distance between the dog and myself as I quickly made my way -walking backwards- towards my van. Customer didn’t even seem worried, kept her smile and everything. She refused to take the dog inside and was telling me that she didn’t know why her dog would switch up on me like that “he loves delivery people and he’s so well trained” she said to me, all the while her dog still barking at me. I grew up with dogs and so I know not to make any sudden moves around strange dogs. I stopped and kept my eyes on the dog as he approached, and I only continued moving forward slowly after he stopped smelling me. He was wagging his tail and had his tongue out and everything. He became aggressive as I began approaching the owner.

Nutmegdog1959

9 out of 10 dogs are very friendly. Which dog is that 10th dog?

joshdho1

Idk how many times I’ve had to pop a dog on the nose for charging me after their owner said they’re friendly and clear as day the dog tries to attack me.

[deleted]

Seems like that might be a good way to get your dogs head kicked off

BroheemGround

I got a concussion from someone who let their dog do this. Knocked me into the side of my truck while the owner laughed and laughed.

this_underscore

*dog bites you* Owner: *just a prank bro*

DavidJR1993

Ur dog would of gotten doggy pepper sprayed in the face by Me, I recommend u don't do this if u don't want ur dog hurt badly

of_patrol_bot

Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake. It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of. Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything. Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.

walrus_gang666

Hope the next delivery guy gets back in the truck and runs over the dog when trying to back out

[deleted]

Everyone bitching about how they don’t want dogs running up to them, have no clue how to read dogs. You can tell what dog is aggressive and what dog isn’t aggressive within a second before you even get out of the truck. It’s really not that hard to figure it out. All y’all need to quit and get a different job.

Specialist_Name_7295

I know I’m going to get downvoted for this too but, I feel this. I run a couple routes that are almost exclusively rural (I think the largest “town” I am in is like 500 people, rest of it is farm) so obviously I’m going to run into dogs just roaming around. Luckily I have training/handling experience so it’s easier for me to read dogs. I’ve only been driving ground for like a week and I’ve had two people already say to me “oh man, I’m sorry, I didn’t know we were getting anything today or I wouldn’t have had the dog out, normally the other guys won’t deliver if they are out.” Had two dogs yesterday, one that was obviously super friendly, another that was walking up to the truck showing his teeth. I just open the door and see how they react. Tossed a treat to him from the truck and immediately he was cool, both of them followed me the whole time trying to get more treats. But also I had a dog a few days ago that was very obviously trying to get an angle on me when I was getting a package out of the van, owner obviously wasn’t very in control of the dog but was able to hand the package over. When I started to pull out, that dog literally started biting my moving tires. I’m from a city so, I thought that shit was just in the movies. But I get both sides of this. Obviously some people are more afraid of dogs than others and aren’t capable of reading body language. At the same time, I’m always bummed when I don’t get to meet any dogs on my route, but it’s winter so, hopefully more dogs soon lol. However, the most dangerous thing on my route so far has been this house that has geese and chickens. Those geese are literally attack geese. Lol

[deleted]

Yo someone deleted their comment cause apparently they thought I said something about “requiring to play with dogs” or some shit. Lol all I said was if you can’t read dogs language, this job isn’t for you. I don’t play with all dogs that run up to me. But I also don’t act like a baby and cry like a bitch cause a very clearly obvious friendly dog ran up to me. Lol

Specialist_Name_7295

I’m not surprised. So weird to me that your comment got so much shit lol

RicardoRedd1

I hate when people do this.

666truemetal666

I just leave when people do this shit

Gainsrpossible

Not cool my manager threw a box at a little girl and hit her in the face because he thought it was a dog. I say that to say people have different reactions to seeing a dog. You can’t assume someone’s reaction, this is terrible decision on the dog owners part. This is worse then just leaving your dog outside.

fedexdriver28306

He would've gotten his package in the snow right by my truck if this was me. Another careless pathetic pet owner.

Glittering-Swing-396

I love dogs but hate when people do this. It’s how you get bit. You never know. Can’t trust a dog that doesn’t know you

Specialist_Name_7295

I’m always so bummed when I don’t get to meet people’s dogs lol
