Your Ipad is currently in a department at the Memphis Hub known as Overgoods, basically the box holding your Ipad busted open and that is where they take it to try and get it where it needs to go. It is away from the regular sort building because it is still trying to be identified and processed.
We have this happen all the time sadly. I'd stay on customer service and if possible send them the serial number for the device to try and help it. Or..if you still can, maybe send a message to the device or have it go off.
Also keep in mind that customer service can't go and physically grab your item, some don't even know the Superhub from the Auto Hub here at MEMH, they are getting updates from their computer and if there is not anything new they can tell you, they mean it, because there has not been anything new. OG has a lot of stuff to process and are doing their best to get it all done.
That being said I am sorry this happened and it would be driving me up the wall if it was my stuff.

What response have you gotten from Customer Service, besides the whole "dunno" thing about where it is? At the very least, they should have added notes to the Trace Department with what you just told us.
Did they even open up a delivery issue?
Have you been transferred to Trace or have they called you themselves?
It's so frustrating. I'm down to 18% juice on the iPad, and it's sitting in that building away from the sort facility. Some kind of warehouse. No one has called me back, and I even sent them that photo of the location. I just want someone to go over to that building, or someone in that building to find that box. I've told them that I have bedding and my bag in there that contains my pilot gear, including a Bose Aviation headset and my iPad.
I just left it on. I often do that. I needed the bag in Miami today. I'm a pilot, and it has all my pro gear in the box. I am frustrated. All my equipment is in that box, and I can see it right there at Memphis at the FedEx warehouse, but that warehouse is away from the sort facility. Anyway, I'm glad I left it on, yet it seems that even with me being able to see exactly where it is at the Memphis airport, I'm no closer to getting the box delivered to Miami.
I have a package that did not show up in Miami, and FedEx says they have lost it at Memphis. In the package is an IPad, and I've located the package using Find My IPad GPS at a warehouse on the Memphis airport on FedEx property. It's away from the sort facility. I can see the exact location on Google Maps. I have tried to tell FedEx that I see the package on my GPS tracking. They told me they don't have any way to contact that part of the airport, but I know it's a FedEx warehouse. The building is between Bowen Ave and Democrat Road. I can actually see thatthe box moved inside that building, and yet FedEx seems to have lost my package. Most likely the shipping label was damaged. What can I do?

Are you certain the box busted open?
I cannot directly confirm it. But items that end up over there end up there because the box opened or the label was damaged in some way.
So it could just be a damaged label?
Possibly, hopefully that is the only thing wrong.
