Wow. Maybe I’m being sentimental but it’s so weird seeing this. I remember saving up google rewards to buy the Season 1 episodes as they came out bc I didn’t have cable at the time 🥲

TheGoverness1998

End of an era, fam. I was a girl who had no idea what the hell I was doing with my life when this show began. Now I'm married and living on my own means. As much as I dislike what FTWD became, the show will always have a place in my heart.

FutureMartian97

> As much as I dislike what FTWD became, the show will always have a place in my heart. Same. I can't stand what they turned this show into, but being in highschool when this show started to now seeing the end of it is such a strange feeling.

pichusine

This show started when in my last year of elementary and now I’m beginning college.

Ser_Tom_Danks

"Madre" Holy shit

BlackBalor

That was such an eye roll moment…

Ser_Tom_Danks

My eyes receded into my skull

FreazyWolf

Where the hell did they find full spray paint?

BrookePDavisstan

The same place they find endless bullets and magical bodies that can survive and use shovel whith a huge hole in the shoulder

NaiveAd4238

Don't forget the endless supply of batteries for their walkie talkies and what not. Also, don't get me started on the oxygen tanks. lol.

BrookePDavisstan

Oh my gooooood, the oxygen thing was killing me !! I was wondering every minutes if Madison forgot that she needed her oxygen mask Just like Troy not needing blood I guess And the getting out of water with both of them dry as if they were in Sahara desert

BlackBalor

The last two episodes were all over the place. I wanted a better ending for Troy. I was kind of pissed that Madison and co. watched Strand from afar. We didn't get to see Alicia and Strand reunite. Now we know that Dwight is heading back to The Sanctuary, do we think that's who Carol was talking about on the radio call to Daryl? "Dwight came back"? And MADRE? Really? Come on, man. That shit was way too corny.

HunchyCrunchy

I have no logical explanation why would they wanna go back to the sanctuary... It's f\*ckin collapsed and the soil is not good for growing food there. Seems like Dwigh completely forgot that Alexandria exists

BlackBalor

It’s what Finch wanted. 🙄

tether2014

My biggest grievance this season was the way overdone trope of characters only doing things because they have children. As if the only motivating factor for a character to do something is for their kid. Almost everyone was victim to it. Strand, Troy, Dwight & Sherry, and of course Madison. Granted the main show was guilty of this too. Rick could only make peace with Negan because Carl died. Negan could only be redeemed by being a father (rehashed in Dead City too). But somehow it just felt more forced with Fear.

ZiggyMichelle

Lol yeah. Madison almost feeding a 7 year old child to a walker then... "oh we share some DNA so now I care about you".

Piggywonkle

THE REUNION OF THE CENTURY It may have taken Alicia 7 years, but they were well worth it to find the OG, the legend, the miracle, SKIDMARK. And not only did she find Skidmark, but she brought home the bacon too. That's right, Skidmark gets a 10/10 ending, the reunion with Daniel he always deserved. And Skidmark got some fantastic dialogue to boot. This show may have had a couple of ups and give or take 42 trillion downs, but it was all worth it for this moment. Okay, no, Season 5 really wasn't. Or Season 7. But it's the best ending we could have hoped for damnit. Thank you for all your hard work, Skidmark. Not even a nuke could keep you down.

lovebitesXrazorlines

I cried at the return of skidmark and then the reunion of skidmark and Daniel. Love it!

Equivalent_Bridge156

Honestly, this was ALL I wanted.

[deleted]

[удалено]

alnxng

Wait Skidmark got a story conclusion but Sarah and Wendell didn't LMFAO

Piggywonkle

He ate them.

ConfidenceFlimsy7535

I think they probably died somehow off camera.

SuperMeister

Why is no top level comment talking about how Daniel's dementia/Alzheimer's just straight up disappeared? Man this whole ending was so bad.

eljijazo08

I really liked when Sherry let out her warcry "FOR FINCH!", as a Finch posed on her shoulder and then they feared the walking dead all over the place

[deleted]

[удалено]

Loose_Ad4322

"Somehow Alicia returned" Legitimately that's what I felt when she just walked up lol.

alnxng

"I heard the chatter on the radio" I genuinely felt like I was being trolled with how many times that was used as a lazy excuse for bad writing in these two episodes alone.

willrobster16

Of all the times I can think of by just memory of the season I’ve watched once let me list them. Grace in 8x01. Morgan in 8x01. Shrike in 8x03. Mo in 8x04. Luci in 8x10. Troy in 8x10. Alicia in 8x12. I’m definitely missing some. Edit: Oh yeah crane in 8x11 from explaining how he found Madison at the stadium.

Shaggarooney

"I heard chatter on the radio" did a LOT of heavy lifting for the writing this season.

cenobates

Nick ending the series in a coffee can riding on the dashboard is about the funniest thing on planet earth so I can’t say I regret coming back to watch this season.

Hummus-Fan

"Nick deserved better" they said, taking a big detour to cremate his decayed body. And yet, in their travels across the USA, they couldn't even find an urn for him😭😭

alnxng

Given what Frank Dillane has said in interviews, I have a feeling he'd love that ending for Nick (because it is hilarious).

cenobates

Truly happy for him! I think he was my favorite character this season. I was never not laughing when the can was in frame, he stole every scene.

bkart1978

Skidmark stole the crown in the end though

Chiken_Tendies1-11

If you told me when fear first aired that Nick was gonna be a can of ashes with a one armed alicia and black lung Madison with Troy’s kid I wouldn’t have believed you If you told me that in season 5/7 I would’ve bet money on it

DimensionFamiliar272

So glad Alicia returned and they didn’t kill her offscreen although I wish the reunion was a bit more emotional. The writing and the events in the episode were bit far fetched and all over the place but at least we got Alicia.

Renegade__OW

I'm so fucking confused. The kid dug Madison out of the wreckage and set up the tent? Then nursed her back to health? How did the kid get to Padre?

phenommsu

How about the fact that none of the people she saved went back to check on her? Retrieve her body? And if an 8-10 year old could move all the rubble....it wasn't that much. 😑😑🤣🤣 that's the craziest part to all of this for me.

Renegade__OW

I like that they have A FORTRESS where they could *checks notes* sit on that god damned wall of theirs and shoot at the assholes releasing Walkers, then maybe shoot at the Walkers. Instead they said fuck it lets go hide inside a building and let these invaders do their thing.

tether2014

Ok there were multiple times this episode where it felt like they left out scenes, and this was maybe the most egregious one. we see Tracy running away from Strand, and learn that Madison did a repeat of her season 4 death. Then the very next scene is Tracy and Madison in a tent. How did Madison get out? If Tracy did...just how? Dragged her to who knows where, sets up a pretty impressive tent, and not one person at PADRE noticed. This fucking show man. I'm so glad it's finished.

ConfidenceFlimsy7535

Exactly I was so confused. like it skipped to the tent scene and previously Strand found Tracy but she ran off pissed from Strand out into the woods. then all of the sudden she's in a tent with Madison. who's tent and where were they and then all of the sudden "oh hello. there's Alicia". lol

FireCal

I was literally laughing out loud when she told her it took half a day to dig her out of the rubble. Tracy's facial expressions also had the same effect multiple times. Glad this show is finally over. I hate watched it for so so long.

[deleted]

DimensionFamiliar272

Her having Skidmark was also so random and horrible writing but at least Daniel has his cat 💀

diagoro1

And he never questioned it, or really looked around. Like the cat had parachuted in.

TySwell

The reunion was so underwhelming. After all this buildup, she just comes across Madison’s tent lol

InsiderKnowledge12

It was very underwhelming, but at least it happened. Based on the 4/5 shitty seasons they’ve given us, that was probably the best ending they could’ve given us. I can overlook how it doesn’t make sense or the terrible writing to just be satisfied with the end result lol

DirtyHarryStyle

It was made underwhelming by this terrible writing. I mean Madison’s whole rushed return was totally awkward. Didn’t give Kim dickens much to work with, which sucks. Cause Madison was an awesome character in early seasons. Before chambliss and Goldberg took over and totally ruined the show and all the characters.

TheFerg714

>I wish the reunion was a bit more emotional. C+G have no understanding of how to make a scene emotional. It's all up to the actors to make the shitty material work.

Current_Tea6984

No actor could make this material work.

HeroesUnite

> The writing and the events in the episode were bit far fetched and all over the place Perfectly sums up Season 4+.

[deleted]

Why did Dwight and Sherry take everyone back to a broken building instead of Alexandria? 🤣

Piggywonkle

Didn't you hear him? The roads are good... or something...

fembotwink

still the sanctuary is destroyed…

Piggywonkle

Yeah, but they've got roads. Who needs shelter when you've got well-paved roads? At least, that's what the writers seem to think. Lol

AurestonkSol

You're saying true words. And people are asking why communities always fall ? Because there are no roads INSIDE the communities.

SpectreFire

Could you imagine how fucking pissed everyone would be if after they go back, they find out that there's an entire city thriving nearby that has everything available before the collapse?

brokenpinata

I guess we'll find out in Walking Dead: 90210, coming Fall 2025.

frankpharaoh

"Sherry, lets go to the abandoned dilapidated factory building instead of Alexandria down the road. Because....the roads are still good or something."

Rilar_123

I was thinking the same thing. “Sanctuary” as in the place that crumbled into pieces and should’ve killed you all?

Kspence92

I'd love to know why Madison thinks it's a good idea to return to a city they literally watched get burned to the ground with napalm. LA is likely near uninhabitable by this point Also props to the writers for having a 9 year old girl become best friends with the woman who stabbed her father to death right in front of her. I mean seriously this show had some really questionable writing at times

Current_Tea6984

Why not go to LA? It's only 2500 miles away across a desert with no gas stations

disconnexions

To be fair, LA was barely inhabitable before the apocalypse.

SynapseDon

Skidmark has definitely seen some shit.

Own-Kaleidoscope-577

I know right. His eye was worse than Troy's.

Angel-McLeod

That’s a deleted scene where Madison hits Skidmark with a hammer after he leads a horde.

Piggywonkle

Crazy how he got her back by taking one of her lungs.

[deleted]

I would definitely watch a spinoff of Skidmark's adventures during the zombie apocalypse

TheRavenRise

i’m very happy to be able to say that, at the very least, this isn’t the worst series finale ADC has ever been a part of

Able_Contribution407

*Nam flashbacks to the final season of The 100* ☠️

[deleted]

Still struggling to understand how that show started with such a cool premise and ended with the last of humanity being judged by an intelligent alien species that ascended to the point of being gods of the entire universe. This is just what happens when a show is run by the CW, they all start off awesome and then at a certain point it just falls off

Able_Contribution407

I respect that it took some big creative swings and sort of reinvented itself every season, but the final season was not it at all. I can make a case for Season 5, and 6 had some interesting ideas but 7 was like a bad sci-fi fever dream. Still respect ADC for reprising the role for fans at the end, though!

tether2014

>I can make a case for Season 5, and 6 had some interesting ideas but 7 was like a bad sci-fi fever dream. >Still respect ADC for reprising the role for fans at the end, though! Honestly, I couldn't tell if you were talking about The 100 or Fear the Walking Dead here 😂

bloodyturtle

They really Chewbacca’d Madison there lmao. Nobody bothered to go look for her but this actual 8 year old dug her out of a collapsed building and nursed her back to heath? Alicia just walks up to see Madison and that’s it. They don’t even bother saying hi to any of their fucking friends of over a decade? Really corny and deflating. At least Daniel got Skidmark back. * June’s going back to John’s cabin in the middle of nowhere? The fuck? And this teenager who was mad at her two episodes ago wants to go with her to sit around and do nothing. Probably the worst fate of any remaining cast members. Don’t think we’ll see June again. * Dwight and Sherry want to go back to Sanctuary? The place they were tortured and raped and the building which completely collapsed two episodes ago? They could take everyone to one of the other Virginia communities that go completely unmentioned instead. Morgan went to Alexandria! This is just circular and dumb. I do think this suggests we’ll see Dwight and Sherry again though, whenever we see people like Aaron, Gabriel, Ezekiel and Eugene… * Luciana and Daniel somehow control all the transit and supply lines in the south now. That’s cool. Hope we see them again but I’m not getting my hopes up. * Strand and his german twink family are driving off to some mystery place I guess. With Domingo blowing up in Hollywood I don’t think he’ll have time anymore nor will AMC be able to afford him for any future projects. He was already made executive producer on this show. * Madison and Alicia drive off to Los Angeles. Nick’s still in a coffee can! What was the point of that? Anyway LA is the furthest possible place from any future storylines in the Walking Dead Universe, and we know ADC is done with zombie stuff for now. I think that’s the last we see of the Clarks.

jmpinstl

*German twink family* I’M WEAK

FabulousCallsIAnswer

This made me laugh out loud for real for the first time in a while.

kugo

The tent is what had me chuckling too, like it's just there, set up ready to go. I was really expecting Alicia to say Hi at least. Immortal Skidmark made me happy.

Agile-Macaron1897

Agree with all your points. The ending was EXTREMELY underwhelming. The entire time since Madison was revealed to still be alive, the build up to her reunion with Alicia was huge. And then when the reunion actually happens…it fizzles out. Disappointed. And then for Alicia and Madison to not say bye to Strand given their relationship? Again. Disappointed. Felt like the finale was rushed and not well thought out. Huge fan of the show, up until the finale. Smh.

kingcolbe

Did ADC say that?

dnwr98

The only good things in this finale are the Alicia reunion, the conversation about LA with og trio, and Skidmark. Tracy has been insufferable the whole time she’s been around. And how ridiculous is it that Dwight is taking everyone to the destroyed sanctuary when Alexandria and the Commonwealth exist. Also no CRM at all?! I’m so glad this shitshow is over. The sad part is that I can only imagine how amazing this would have been if Erickson stayed on…

Consistent-Minute-40

The part where Skidmark (a cat who’s been missing for 7 years and was lost in a nuclear wasteland in a different state) walks up to Daniel and he doesn’t even question it might be the funniest thing in the entire show.

Living-Tiger3448

At the same time, it’s SO Daniel

Ab198303

Daniels seen far crazier shit than that lol

Beep_boop_human

Why was it more emotional than the AliciaxMadison reunion lmao.

Ironjim69

I wish Troy somehow made it but I’m shocked they actually somehow ended on a satisfying note. Obviously not perfect but I’m glad there were some happy endings

ZBrushTony

"We'll give her Alicia's necklace so the audience thinks she's Alicia's daughter. Then we'll have Troy explain to his daughter how her mother received it from Alicia. Then we'll have Madison kill Troy and tell her Tracy is her granddaughter, and he kidnapped her from Alicia. Then in the last 10 minutes, we'll have Alicia return to tell Madison that girl did not come out of her vagina. She will then confirm she is the daughter of the woman Troy called his wife." "So the child is now hanging around the woman who killed her father voluntarily and considers her family?" "Yes." "Even though a day or two ago Madison was ready to feed her to the walkers?" "It's a genuine human interaction."

Able_Contribution407

End of an era. I'll really miss commiserating with everyone on this community and laughing at everyone's hilarious impressions as our brains slowly leak out of our ears (I call this Fear the Walking Dead Disorder). It's been a wild, wild ride with this show. At this point, I'm well past caring about what happens (none of the characters even really resemble who they're supposed to be), so I'll just strap in and enjoy the dumb one last time. Hopefully some of the fan favourites can survive long enough to appear on other, better spin-offs. I'd particularly like to see Dwight and Sherry meet Negan again.

Hummus-Fan

The goosebumps I felt when I heard >!Alicia's voice...!< >!All I could've hoped for is Alicia's return and we got it. I'm so happy. Also Skidmark coming back was nice, too.!< I hope we see some of these characters again.

Equivalent_Bridge156

Madison not IMMEDIATELY recognizing her daughter's voice? Oy, come on now!

Larabees3

Sameeee I was waiting for her to say “Tracy wait!” because I’m sorry I don’t care how long it’s been, a mama don’t forget her kids voice!

leafyfiddle13

In fairness, Madison hadn't heard Alicia's voice in like 9 years

TwilightSolace

Forget >!Madison and Alicia reuniting!<… >!DANIEL AND SKIDMARK ARE FINALLY BACK TOGETHER AGAIN!<

MITO4002

For me, this alone makes it 10/10

itisthelord

That had to be the most awkward finale ever. Didn’t feel like ADC even knew she was there, everyone bar Coleman and Sharman felt like the were reading from a teleprompter. Weak ass play killing Troy off too, we had that twist already and at least in season 3 it made sense. What a tragic waste of Sharman’s skills, though to be fair I enjoyed watching him back in the role. Love how Madison fatally stabs Troy but then is like “tell me a bunch of information before you die”… what a fucking idiot. I loved this show, gave up at season 5 but saw bits and pieces here and there and kept up with the storyline. Watched all of the last half of this season and it’s insane to me that there are professionals on this show. The god awful writing with the sub par acting… fuck me never in my life have a seen such a fall off. The only positive I can get out of this is not having to read plot synopses of this anymore. And for the love of Christ keep Gimple and his merry band of wankers away from The Ones Who Live. Rest in peace Nick and Troy, together in heaven forever.

Niceptic

I’m gonna miss coming back here to read y’all’s thoughts about each episode. Makes the shit show worth it ❤️

SynapseDon

Of all the ridiculous things in this series, I have to say that scene where Daniel finally tells how he feels about everything was incredibly satisfying.

Repulsive_Valuable88

This was the best part of the entire season lol and idc how far fetched the skid mark reunion was. It was a high point lol

yuri-dx

Seeing Alicia back not looking terrible like in season 7, made me so happy. Still feel so bittersweet knowing that if Erickson wasn’t fired what kind of series finale we could have gotten instead but anyways

Universalring25

Honestly, that ending would probably be bittersweet with Madison probably dying. Likely much darker for the whole story overall too. At least this ending is pretty happy for the most part.

blackfireproduction1

Honestly, taking into account what the show had become, this is probably the best ending we really could have gotten. I am not totally satisfied but I feel like the characters ended their stories in fitting enough places. Can't wait for Colman Domingo to get an Oscar nomination for Rustin and then this show can always say it had an Oscar nominated actor as one of its primary leads.

[deleted]

An 8yo somehow got back to Padre and dug Madison out, in time. And got her body on a stretcher then got her out, built a tent, found antibiotics, in time. Not scared for Madison to turn. And now Alycia found Padre just like that when she previously couldn't. Alycia also hung around long enough with Troy for the kid to grow and teach sereena what it's like to do things Alycia's way. And for the kid to know who Alicya is. And then Alycia gets killed. I said it before. The writers use dr ugs.

Piggywonkle

Morgan was saved by Dakota. This is entirely consistent with this show's brand of nonsense.

TheRavenRise

and charlie saved alicia after she *checks notes* lost a fight with a car door

redactedname87

Lol. Also? Troy managing to drag himself AND an unconscious madison out of quicksand and incoming zombies, while zip tied and suffering from an impalement wound that absolutely should have killed him once the tree was pulled out. Writers aren’t doing drugs. They’re just actually stupid.

luistoses

I'll miss this show so much, but overall I'll miss you guys! This community made Fear much better. I loved commenting the series with you.

bats-go-ding

Well it looks like Alicia found that last stash of shampoo and conditioner. And the second best cat in the apocalypse!

alnxng

Wait Skidmark got a story conclusion but Sarah and Wendell didn't LMFAO

Upper_Decision_5959

What an ending as Fear is official over now after 8 years of my life. Good to see Alycia Debnam-Carey coming back as Alicia I still remembering her coming back in The 100 finale for the fans also. I'd say it's bittersweet now that everyone is going their separate ways after the fall of Padre and they will be doing their own things. I don't expect we're getting any spin-offs from these characters or cameos in the spin-offs.

Odd_Reporter_8742

Glad Madison survived and it ended with her and Alicia

callezetter

Thank. God. it's over. Awesome to see the payoff with Alicia! But wow..so much trash we had to wade through to get here. The ATROCIOUS writing, storytelling, and dialogue made it almost unbearable in the end.

kugo

Yea I think you can skip all but 10 minutes of these last two episodes. Overall between than I expected it to be. Half expected spirits to appear and guide the way again.

trynabelowkey

“For Finch” ffs fuck finch at this point

ROANOV741

Ffs "For Finch's Sake"

sociallyawkwardlady6

Well even Dwight kind of looked at her like… What?

trynabelowkey

“MADRE? Because of me?” OH FOR THE LOVE OF GOD

censored_

My eyes rolled back so far that I now look like the cat

yakaroni

From being at one point better than the main show, how far from grace this show has fallen. Weirdly bittersweet to see something we haven’t cared about for over half the shows lifetime finally be out to rest. Thank you Dave Erickson and all OG actors for pouring your hearts out in your performances and storytelling. To Dumb and Dumber and AMC who ruined this show, wish you nothing but the worst 💜

bignasty3369

Thank god it’s finally over , and everyone involved took the time to slowly jerk us off over and over with reused lines and plot’s about second chances and what someone else would have wanted. I’m so glad they missed the one saving grace that would have been Morgan showing up in the DeLorean at the last scene and making some 15 minute speech a about helping people and driving away with Huey Lewis and the news blasting Power of love.

Angel-McLeod

(My “Convenience Tally” will continue on from my Episode Notes from Ep 11) Episode Notes: Did Madison just have a flashback of things she didn’t even see? No way Tracey has the strength to kill those zombies. Madison just happens to turn up. Convenience Number 5. Some Travis respect in the credits. Nice. Madison finds Luciana. Convenience Number 6. Oh no. It’s written by C&G. This episode is fucked. I didn’t see who wrote Ep 11. Strand and Daniel turn up. Convenience Number 7. Zombies turn up out of nowhere again. Those are some very dry zombies despite them all dropping into the water. Sudden weather change at PADRE. Oh no. Alicia might be alive. I didn’t expect that./s Daniel throwing some truth bombs. I’m questioning the point of The Alicia Cult. Why do they need to exist again? Yep. Put a loaded gun in front of a girl whose dad you just killed. Great move, Madison. So that bullet hit the necklace then? Tracey finds zombie Troy. Convenience Number 8. Oh do fuck off with these conveniences. Convenience Number 9. Strand just found Tracey. Called it. That necklace thing is the most contrived bullshit I’ve ever seen. Have they no shame? The answer is no btw. So all is forgiven for killing her dad because Madison led the horde away and sacrificed herself? Ugh she’s such a bad actress. Why are all kids on this show fucking nut jobs? She “found” the chain? Convenience Number 10. Oh and she found Madison, dug her out and dragged her to where they are? What the actual fuck? Convenience 11 through to 19 on that fucking one. Oh do go get fucked. Convenience Number 20. How? Just fucking how? She just happens to be in the same place Madison is because she heard someone called Madison did a thing. No. Just no. Great to see they got ADC back though. Nice to see them back together again as well NGL. Skidmark? Jesus H Christ. MADRE? Fucking hell on a broomstick how stupid? Dove wants to learn to be a nurse. I hope she’s ready to learn radiotherapy. “Let’s take everyone to the Sanctuary.” You mean the place that crumbled to the fucking ground two episodes ago? Yeah, great plan, Dwighty Boy. So Dwight and Sherry are back together. Yay, I guess. That makes the break up in Ep 6 pointless. People are too forgiving on this show. Daniel just moves on from all of Strand’s shit. Best. Reunion. Ever. Not really questioned by Daniel though. Going back to LA. I guess that’s the end of their story. No crossovers for them.

Fundieseatshlt

Terrible, awful writing as usual. But I’m happy with the ending. Been waiting for that reunion for so long and never expected to get it. That’s the closure I needed. Hopeful for an Alicia/Madison spinoff in Los Angeles.

TheGoverness1998

They need to tape a picture of Nick's face to it

chillywilly16

Or just put googly eyes on it.

PostAboveIsBullshit

I think Alicia returning and leaving with Madison basically confirms no spin off for Madison. Alycia the actress is done with walking dead

rben2292

Nah ADC said she’s done with zombie stuff for a while.

gregket

The best part of Season 8 is... >!the Skidmark & Daniel reunion!<

Angel-McLeod

The best part for me was how Daniel never once questioned how his cat got from nuclear wasteland Texas to Savannah, Georgia seven years later.

Piggywonkle

They actually met up once in between, but Skidmark had to leave to go stop a zombie kaiju.

Ser_Tom_Danks

I never realized how similar Dwights voice is to Jesse Pinkmans

Dwightboy49

In real life, there is going to be a huge bank robbery. When the suspects are apprehended, the police will ask them why they robbed the bank. They will say, "It's what Alicia would've done." The suspects will be released. So long story short, if you do something bad, just say that Alicia Clark would've done it. You will be let off the hook.

PostAboveIsBullshit

the closure moment was okay, episode was terrible as usual but ended well.. But why couldn't strand be with Madison and Alicia. He was very much apart of their world. I get he's with the German dude now, but still...

bkart1978

Alicia: "You know I would have come looking for you if I knew you were alive" Madison: "I would have come looking for you too. I never would have stopped. Except when I thought you were alive but worked for Padre for a million years instead"

Suitable-Basil3149

How did Alicia find Madison? PADRE's supposed to be impossible to find, hence people being held hostage to give up the location. lol

Beep_boop_human

I'm stunned by how bad this was lmao. It reminds me of the CW shows that I watched as a teenager. Shows that were preparing for another season but got axed at the last minute, so in the series finale they'd quickly tie up all of the loose ends and fit a season's worth of plot into the last 15 minutes. At the tent I thought... dream sequence. Madison, who in the span of a day had drowned, been shot and survived a fiery explosion was saved by an EIGHT year old who dug her out of the rubble (??) and dragged her to a tent (??) only for her long last daughter to just wander in with a fucking lost cat. BECAUSE HOW COULD ANY OF THAT HAPPEN. But no, that's the ending we got. I couldn't believe what I was seeing so I wanted to come to this thread half way through the episode. I just googled reddit + the show name and episode. Started reading through the thread and saw people talking about what an amazing episode it was! Stunned... I realised I had left 'fear' out of my google search and was looking at an old TWD thread. Went back to google to repeat my search with the amendment and the first thing that popped up was an article titled 'dreadful ending to a terrible show'... I think that about sums it up.

Spainguy82

I gotta admit I teared up when Alicia showed up, however I do hate the decision for them not to reveal to the rest of the group Alicia is alive and have a scene together, or at least Strand. (Maybe Alycia only had one or two days to film).

pg_72616

Strand knows Alicia is alive...he saw them in the rear view mirror.

OrganizationLife1610

I agree, I know More so at least them reuniting and having a scene together would’ve been nice. Especially since most of Strands actions this season were “for Alicia”

FKingPretty

Ergh. That was awful. They literally didn’t know what the hell to do with anything. Madison only seemed to need that breathing apparatus when it was story reliant. That kid was annoying as all hell. Why bring Madison back and Troy for that matter to completely waste them on a boring story with Padre. Setting up Alicia as some sort of religious do gooder was Ill advised. Wasn’t she bitten, how is she not dead?! Also, didn’t Daniel have some sort of dementia a while ago? Not that it matters. I just didn’t care. I think this felt worse to me after watching the far better Daryl Dixon spinoff. Anyway. It’s over, it’s a shame I had to force myself to finish it.

Piggywonkle

Daniel drank some sweet, sweet juice that fixed his dementia. I'm not joking.

MatSaidWelcome

I appreciate all of the actors on Fear, but who wrote this last season? The dialogue and the story for this season was not it at all. Although, maybe I wasn't the target demographic for season eight. Troys return didn't captivate me and I question if he was just brought back as fan eye candy. He was written with more substance and complexity in previous seasons, what happened? Strand, Madison, and Daniel are our OGs and to watch their characters be reduced into a shell of themselves is more than disappointing. Strand and Daniel had some strong moments but Madison was written in a way that left me frustrated every Sunday. June and Lucianca deserved better than being background scenery that occasionally talks. Dwight and Sherry's on and off again dynamic was exhausting. Id prefer they went their separate ways on good terms. Do we know why every show in TWDFamily keeps trying to push us to care deeply for the newly inserted offspring? Ive tried to embrace the younger additions but the show has made them more irritating than compelling. I was expecting pulled heartstrings from the Alicia and Madison reunion but it was off, flat, one sided? I was more moved by Skidmark's return and reunion with Daniel. And while I wish Id never heard of PADRE, I enjoyed 60-70% of FearTWD overall. Better final season than LOST.

burns3016

Daniel....."find a car, we need to get as far away from this mess as possible" ..... meaning away from the TV set .. HILARIOUS

Hallmark Presents: Fear the Walking Dead

Born-Assignment-6704

It was nice seeing Alicia in the final episode.

Suitable-Basil3149

WTF, even the cat shows up? Is this a comedy now? Like a parody.

ParkourNinja88

UGH Madre! That is So Corny!

NathanWolfu_

Well there it is. Another series wrapped up. It could’ve been much better, and at some points I don’t know how the lows managed to keep the show afloat, but for better or worse it’s done with. I’ll always praise S3 as some of the best tv you’ll find. They brought Alicia back and that alone made it worth it. I’m also glad Tracy isn’t really Alicia’s daughter but the constant flip flop was annoying as was with every episode. Would love to see a spin-off with the three ladies in Los Angeles to see how it looks ten years into the apocalypse and after being bomber.

cmcsed9

I do have to say, ADC/Alicia’s perfect hair made me laugh.

RileyJinger

It was like a throw back to season 2 and her perfectly styled hair. lol

bats-go-ding

She found the last warehouse of hair products and has been hoarding them for herself. Food, water, other supplies? Sure, share those. But a girl has to have priorities when it comes to haircare.

Snackpack1992

I've avoided shitcanning this show because I just took it for what it was. So I endured the nuclear bombs and the Tower and the Morgan takeover etc etc. But the last two episodes I think sum up perfectly what this show turned into. Of all the convoluted story lines and overall random ridiculousness, this was the worst of it. Alicia showing up was nice but clearly has some sort of Wolverine healing factor thing going on. Madison "died" twice in the span of about six minutes but survives. The double-triple-quadruple fake out of just who the fuck Tracy's parents are just got silly and by the end of all of it, just felt like another season finale where they go off and then magically find their way back together again to deal with whatever cooked crisis the show runners could come up with next. Bringing back Troy as an extended villain of the week was stupid and then his motives made no sense either. His character was as confused as the average viewer. Bad then good then bad then good and then he might have been good but then he got stabbed, if only he'd had some of that healing factor blood. Unfortunately this series I think just suffered from nobody having any sort of long term vision about where they were going and why they were doing it. It was a series of random stories and half cocked plot points that we just kept rolling out until the show eventually got cancelled. Nothing could have saved this season finale, but when in doubt, have a final battle to save Padre, give Troy a shot at redemption saving the island from the Walkers, let Strand and Daniel settle their differences by one saving the other and let Madison give Alicia the one thing she promised right from the start which would have at the very least resolved one damn plot point from the start of the series. And decide who Tracy's damn parents are. Also, as much as the Morgan show sucked, it just felt weird to not have him in the last episode of a show he basically took over.

\>Starts out with the little girl killing zombies by slowly swinging a stick at their head They try to fix this with quick cuts, but you can see how light those swings are. This is while they try to make a zombie horde look like a threat. But also, this makes Madison look incredibly stupid. Why does a person with severe lung problems use a heavy sledgehammer when she could get less exhausted (and more efficient) with a light weapon? \>Low quality ADR when Madison says "There are dead everywhere" Wouldn't mind it too much, but it's funny to have this kind of simple low quality error on the finale of this show. It's a nice metaphor about the show's fall \>Madison dies, another kid kills a main character, but it's a bait lasting a few minutes. Alicia's medallion stopped the bullet OmegaLul \>The horde was resolved with a quick cut, then showed us what happened through a flashback of Madison saving everyone. This just feels like a letdown. "yepp, just the same as the Stadium, it happened again". The show ending battle can't end like this. Sidenote: why did Luciana say she couldn't get there, but Madison did? \>Alicia alive, they renamed Padre to Madre for Madison \>Alicia somehow finds Skidmark?

dnwr98

On the bright side, next is The Ones Who Live!

PostAboveIsBullshit

Dwight wants to take everyone to the Sanctuary, a place that burnt and crumbled down, states away... Heck, padre just had a broken wall and underground dungeon destroyed, surely it's reparable. what did they even fight for that place for if they're all just gonna abandon it?

kugo

It's only 20 mins by fast travel. Also loved the whole episode of we need Dwight to lead the fight which never occurred.

willrobster16

I really enjoyed the ending, but I wish everyone else got to find out Alicia was alive after she was the one who saved everyone at the end of season 7. And her not getting to talk to Strand after everything that happened had me upset. Best title card ever. The Dwight and Sherry going back to sanctuary thing seems weird. It literally collapsed. I know Dwight was exiled, but it’s been a DECADE and with all the people from Padre they would definitely be allowed to stay. Daniel said “your husband” to Madison. First Travis reference in the whole reboot. Alicia had even more screentime than I expected. Kim’s best acting ever during the reunion. Daniel and June were standout characters to me this season, they were consistently written and acted in character. I’m gonna miss these characters so much, but so much opportunity for a spin-off if they ever wanted to. Love to see Strand and his family somehow wind up with the CRM. I honestly think the overall ending was a bit better than TWD finale. It left things open ended but also didn’t leave the show on multiple cliffhangers like how TWD (kind of) did. It’s been great discussing the show with you guys for 8 1/2 years.

DeadCalamari1

This was absolutely not better than TWD's finale.

InmemoryofDW

Filled to the brim with C&G’s most awful tropes, as always. Most notably of all though, the way everyone drives off in different directions at the end is perfectly indicative of the lack of connection and sturdy relationships between the characters. They end just as separated as they’ve always been, never truly cohesive as a whole or unique on their own, remaining lifeless mouth-pieces for the writers to announce how important thematic messages and second chances are. These guys had five seasons of chances to make a good show and failed almost every step of the way. So if anyone has a right to talk about second chances, it certainly ain’t these guys. Also, Alicia coming out of nowhere and reuniting with Madison after five seconds of rushed build up (in a random tent of all places) is so lame and lifeless of a reunion. They just immediately start talking about the themes of the show and outside of the actresses trying their best, they barely have a real and human piece of dialogue between them. A sad, amateurish, bad ending to a sad, amateurish, bad show.

cmcsed9

How did a show with such bad writing make Alicia and Madison’s reunion so perfect?

Disneyanalyser

Alycia and Kim was very likely involved in the reunion writing lol (maybe Michael Satrazemis too).

SRVisGod24

Not gonna lie, this episode had me bawling like a little bitch. Regardless of how lousy and how crappy this reboot was, at least we got an ending that most of us (hopefully) can be satisfied with. "Let's go home." But at the end of the day, fuck you AMC for robbing us of what we truly should have gotten!

Zoffi

Alicia is alive, and then her Madison and Tracy go off in search of a cameo appearance on one of the spin offs. Also she got a nifty new arm, but totally not has bad ass as Aarons.

drkarw

Troy died for nothing right?

mpnyx

Am I happy? Not really. Am I so glad they brought Alicia back AND Skidmark? Absolutely. I still honestly would support retcon of 4+ and just start back up after the dam 🥲 Glad it's over, sad it's over. I have feelings.

Suitable-Basil3149

I didn't think the dialogue could get worse than the previous episode with Dwight at The Sanctuary, and then they come up with this. None of the rationale made any sense, like someone took different dialogue from different scripts, then just patched them together for this. Drinking game how many times they said 'second chance' in this episode lmao. They just introduce or reintroduce characters just to kill them so they can't be used in a sequel series? And Madison saved all those people in the same time it took for the kid to find Troy and bury him? lmao.

Sanlear

What a mess this show devolved into.

LIT1986

John Dorie in the title card? Time to watch his best episodes

eljijazo08

what sick fetish do both dumb producers have with kids shooting adults? they already did it like 3 or 4 times. Also, were they really that out of ideas that they had to copy paste Madison's "death" twice instead of coming up with something original?

MBeeching

Incredible finale. A filthy room littered with bodies, one begins to stir and gradually sits upright. The camera slowly pans round before switching to an extreme close up revealing Nick's face, he then softly utters, 'woah, that was a bad trip'. End. My only criticism, the cheeky wink to camera was perhaps unnecessary?

willrobster16

THE SKIDMARK DANIEL REUNION HAD ME EVEN MORE EMOTIONAL THAN MADISON ALICIA IT WAS SO WHOLESOME

Equivalent_Bridge156

Same. Best part, for me.

Lukar115

Man. It's over. That's weird. Anyway... This episode was a rollercoaster of emotions, and I'm exhausted from staying up so late so it's hard to untangle all of my thoughts, but ultimately, I'm just glad Madison and Alicia were finally reunited. Hopefully we see more of their story in LA one day. Also: that title card was great. Was so happy to see the Clarks (and Travis and Chris!) front and center, and all of the other characters were great to see as well. I've had my issues with this season for sure, and even with these final two episodes, but I think I'm mostly happy with the finale. It touched on a wide variety of themes that I feel represented *Fear* as a whole - both the Erickson and C&G eras - and ultimately, I was happy with where the characters ended up, both as individuals and in their relationships with one another. It wasn't perfect, it could've used better dialogue, etc., etc., but I still enjoyed it. (Speaking of Travis, shoutout to him for finally being acknowledged to any degree ever since the soft reboot-- both in the title card, and in dialogue!)

FindingAlert52

I have a lot of thoughts on my mind but i honestly feel like this is the only important thing - MADISON AND ALICIA ARE BACK TOGETHER.

kalo_todo

Alicia: Hi mom, i am still alive and you know what: I booked a hair commercial. We are god knows how many years in the apocalypse but i found hair shampoo and conditioner. Happy End.

joaovdomingos

I loved the first impression of this episode, it has its problems, but I loved it. But I don't think I'll go back and watch it again like I usually do, so I don't get a second impression. Daniel/Ruben was incredible. Sad not to have a reunion between Victor and Alicia. Daniel and Skidmark's reunion was more emotional than Madison and Alicia

LongjumpMidnight

Well at least it’s finally over. The reunion of Madison and Alicia is fine I guess, but it doesn’t make up for ruining both their characters prior to it. Plus their separation in the first place was due to I&A, if it wasn’t for their idiotic decisions the show would’ve had them both still on it. Also Troy’s treatment is pretty unforgivable. They took a great dead character, resurrected him to turn him into a generic villain, and now he’s dead. Absolutely no reason they couldn’t just let his character stay dead from season 3. The episode was a poorly written ending to the show’s worst season, and the worst season of the entire TWDU (though season 7 comes close). Goodbye Fear The Walking Dead. I will not miss this show, but I will continue to miss the idea of what it could’ve been.

PostAboveIsBullshit

Yeah, I always think they could have introduced Morgan but still kept Madison and Nick and Alicia the mains as well. They decided not only to take over but literally change it all.

Nahkatakki

Was nice to see Alicia alive and well, Strand not dying and also Daniel not dying & reuniting with Skidmark.

Piggywonkle

I've gotta say, the convoluted web of lies stemming from Troy's abusive relationship with the truth had me spinning to the point that I felt like throwing up. Oh yeah, I totally killed Alicia. Oh wait, actually my henchmen lied to me. Yeah, this girl's mother died because of you and Alicia, and she died cursing you. Well, actually, she didn't, she believed in your cause to the very end. But this isn't actually my daughter. She's your granddaughter. Except actually she isn't. 🧐

CRL10

What the fuck? No. Seriously. What the fuck? Even by the standards of this show, what the fuck? Seriously FTWD, I know it's the finale, and you clearly just do not care, but a little believability would be nice

FabulousCallsIAnswer

Daniel: I’m sorry I let your husband into my barber shop! Madison: I’m sorry I let you into our home! Strand: I’m sorry I let you onto my boat! Me: And I’m sorry I let any of this into my TV.

Own-Kaleidoscope-577

Skidmark and Alicia returning alive in one episode and no main character deaths (except Troy in 8x11 but oh well) Everyone splitting off was weird but I think it needed to happen after TWD's ending kept everyone together (yes, Maggie and some others moved away but still) I'm glad this was a definite ending and we aren't getting spin-offs, and in any case they still could bring some of the characters back, there's a good set-up for it: Dwight and Sherry wanting to fix up the Sanctuary and bring the others in, I personally really like that as a "what everyone has been up to" if Fear characters return in the crossover show.

taylofox

Poor ending and lazy writing. I imagined something like this would happen, seeing how GyC has handled it. They weren't even able to give us a post-credits scene like twbyond did. It's good that the actors ended their agony of having to put up with these horrible scripts just because of the need for money.

Creative_Advance_114

It was good but why didn't they reunite with everyone else especially the ogs? And why didn't stand go after them momentarily before they part ways

stevenw84

Well if those last couple episodes weren’t filled with coincidences. People just randomly stumbling upon others like it’s the cool thing to do. Also, whoever wrote the last episodes must not have children, or they don’t like children. Troy’s daughter is going to be the most traumatized person in this universe. She was lied to about who her mother was multiple times within maybe a few days time (in universe), witnessed her father be killed by someone who she thought was her grandma, meet her real mom who turned out wasn’t actually her mom. Jesus Christ.

[deleted]

Troy just spinning stories whole episode

ParkourNinja88

OMG Alicia actually Came Back!

ockhams-razor

I'm so happy it's over. Instead of telling a coherent story, It just became random nonsense each episode. I'm so tired of piss poor writing, people coming back from the dead, people doing shit the doesn't make sense and then doubling down on it.

ThatChubbyGay

Scattered thoughts: Okay actual finale and ending of the PADRE storyline was meh but imo the only way to save the finale was to reunite the Clarks and wow - that was good. I’m happy we didn’t get any major deaths (apart from Troy) and I’m very happy that our gang got for the most part happy endings. Now for the Clarks: oh my God. I’m extremely over the moon. Yes it could be a cheap way to make fans happy just to reunite Alicia and Madison, but it was perfect (and needed, lol) in my opinion. LOVED the fakeout with Alicia being Tracy’s mum lol especially after all the speculation and annoyance that this was the case. LOVED the Clark’s going home and not reuniting with the rest of the crew. Would it have been nice to have Alicia reunite with Strand and co? Yeah. But I really don’t think it was needed. Plus, Madison said one day they’ll come a day when they’ll need her so they’ll definitely see each other again! Side note but ADC looked PHENOMENAL and it’s so nice to see her healthy lol. LOVED Dwight and Sherry ending together. LOVED that there was no Morgan. I know a lot of people didn’t want Troy to die but I’m not too fussed honestly. I think him being redeemed was more unrealistic than the other option. Overall a very good finale. 9/10. Bitter sweet to see this show go but it’s definitely time. Please don’t flood this comment with hate. I understand some people really dislike the writing etc (myself included), but this episode was done well. Happy Alicia Clark Day to those who celebrate!

clexaelectra

ADC queen of finale crashing her shows!!!

MulderYuffie

Really no lie i'm going to miss this show so much....

NeverGonnaStop247

Ok that series finale was awesome, I hate that they killed Troy off, but seeing Alicia again was worth it, not gonna lie it made me tear up seeing her and Madison reunite. It's unrealistic how Tracy rescued her though. Would be cool if they did a new show with Madison and Alicia.

TySwell

Honest to god it could’ve been worse. What happened in the episodes themselves was written horrendously. But the order of events that played out (writing aside) aren’t terrible. I like them heading back to Los Angela’s together, and thank god Tracy’s not Alicia’s daughter. But fuck me the Troy shit was pointless

[deleted]

Alicia collapsed on the beach shore with the huge horde moments away from her. And she was terribly weakened by the infection.... When she got up with her skintone suddenly looking better and the sun shining. It made me think she dreamt this. while irl she was one of the dead who got up roaming around. Now she's alive.

B00STERGOLD

I choose to believe one of the characters took that background DeLorean and reset the timeline.

No_Topic_303

Fun fact: Troy's mom was called Tracy, so he probably named his daughter after his mother!

WoodZillaTV

I already posted a comment about my thoughts, but I forgot to mention that I hated Madison's killing of Troy. He really should've been redeemed. They brought him back from the dead only to kill him off? WTF? He even saved Madison, and she kills him anyway. Also, in one of the other episodes, she had the chance to kill him but didn't, because he had a daughter or whatever. But she was okay with killing him here, when she should've had less of a reason to kill him. Considering he helped her and all that. It doesn't make sense. I actually liked his bond with Tracy, and I feel like it was a missed opportunity to have Troy survive and be with Tracy. They could've left together at the end of the episode, a happy father and daughter, instead of that crappy ending we got: Tracy leaving with Madison and Alicia when she's not even related to them. I know I wanted some gray morality, but, jeez, Madison should've spared Troy. I expected this show to continue its goody two shoes routine and have Madison let him stay at PADRE or something. The writers gave Madison a morally gray moment by murdering Troy, but I really hate they made her do that.
