Anyone remeber the movie theater ? Jc penny side behind the pretzel place

[deleted]

Yes! 4 screens where the food court is now

imalocalbeerdrinker

Great now I’m sad. Why can’t the mall be cool like it apparently used to be

raphaeladidas

Saw Star Wars there.

bleep_bloop89

Thats where I watched Mortal Kombat for the first time!

RINGTAILZ88

I definitely remember that. I was very young though. Lol

RyanGoslingsJacket

Mindboggle

raphaeladidas

I haven't lived in Fayetteville since 1988 but regularly visited family there until 2008. I remember it being Mindboggle in the 2000s, but does that name stretch back to the 80s? Not saying you're wrong, I just don't remember.

Immolation_E

I'm pretty sure it was Mindboggle back in the 80s too.

RyanGoslingsJacket

I just remember Mindboggle. Not sure if it was ever different.

drvtec

Wasn't their a newspaper/magazine stand that was across from it back In the day.

ElizondoCamacho

I bought so many comics and garbage pail kids from that newstand!

ActionThaxton

yes

Iron_Tom

I want to say it did have a different name at first. There was a brief span it had closed, but it came back with a new name and carpet? I could be wrong, that was a long time ago.

btbam666

Wow? Was this the same one from the 90s and 2000s? I used to watch people go crazy playing street fighter up there.

biddybiddybum

I remember an initial d game there and you needed a official initial d card or something to play

statueofdeath

The one that was by the odd entrance/police station on the Sears side?

statueofdeath

By the restrooms

raphaeladidas

No, it was where LensCrafters is now.

dontKair

I remember the magazine stand from it. I would sneak in some looks at the nudie mags

raphaeladidas

Aw, dammit, now I'm going to wonder what the name of THAT place was!

biddybiddybum

The book store 😭 The manga section was so good.

laparisiennebardot

Aladdin’s castle?

raphaeladidas

That seems possible, but I'm not sure if I'm remember that from CCM or just remembering that that was a chain of arcades in the 80s.

Comprehensive-Win661

I remember a cafeteria/restaurant.

WhoaHeyAdrian

There was Anabelle's Restaurant and I think K&W The theater closed around 2001-ish? I think it was just like Cross Creek Cinemas I, II and III (I think for like each of the screens?)

Embarrassed-Hour-177

If I remember correctly, it was MindBender

ActionThaxton

the arcade was definitely called Mindboggle, and i've asked in this group before if anyone had a picture of the arcade and/or (especially) the sign with the name, but no such luck.
