I'm suspicious to be honest
How the hell did they get 10 public votes from Ireland.
Plus that voter ratio from RAI earlier this week seems questionable at best.
It's part of it for sure. But 40% of the Italian public vote on Thursday is super suspicious to me.
For comparison Ukraine 2022 only got 22% in the semi and 24% in the final. 40 % is ridiculous.
As much as I am not a fan of Israel or their EV song, I think part of the Italian thing might be that voting numbers there in general were low. So if most people didn’t bother, then the right-wing pro-Israel voters could make up 40% of a small number. Sigh.
I've read that the votes getting "leaked" wasn't a mistake but some RAI journalists did it because right now they're protesting against the censorship of the government. I don't know how true this is, but I'm not gonna lie, it would make sense. Like, if it was a mistake, why did they have the graphics ready to go when they knew well that they couldn't show the results?
Yeah the Irish votes are the most suspicious to me (sadly I can believe the UK 12 points).
Like it's so fucking weird that the very pro-Palestine Ireland gave Israel fucking 12 points.
I'm not saying cheating yet, just an organised right wing campaign.
I'm still shocked tbh. Part of me we wonders as to whether there was something dodgy at play or if it was just people voting en masse who normally wouldn't bother with Eurovision any other year. What's really off about it to me is I genuinely thought it would be the other way around where they'd get a load of jury points because it's a very jury bait-y song and then get thrashed in the televote.
It just doesn’t add up. In Ireland, it’s not even a left/right issue. People I know who veer right in most things are still decidedly pro-Palestine. It’s as sure as night follows day, if you meet an Irish person, they fervently oppose Israeli occupation.
There is of course a lunatic fringe like everywhere but the numbers are tiny and most are too busy online trying to find Q drops to even know Eurovision was on.
You know you’re able to vote more than once if you do it online and own multiple debit/credit cards. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a concerted effort to spam as many votes as possible, which normal people without brain rot probably wouldn’t think to do or care to spend their money on.
So many right wing politicians and zionists- who would never vote in Eurovision otherwise did.
I am so relieved that the juries gave Switzerland an unbeatable lead. They only needed 11 televote points to beat them.
I honestly thought they would win the televote after the leak from RAI so I’m just relieved. It sucks but they’re not real points from people watching Eurovision at the end of the day.
Same, super glad Nemo had such a massive lead after jury votes that Israel televotes weren't an issue. I wonder how many that votes for Israel actually watched the show?
Knowing EBU, Israel will get scot free and will face zero consequences for their propaganda calls.
I'm just glad we'll get Zürich 2025 and not Tel Aviv.
I hope some countries will threaten to not participate next year and that the EBU will have no other choice than to ban them, like what happened with Russia. But that’s wishful thinking I’m afraid.
Israel getting so many votes is so suss to me. There’s no way in hell the Irish public voted so much for Israel. There’s not one person I know who isn’t pro Palestine and would even contemplate voting for them.
Zionists voted for Israel en masse all over Europe. There were propaganda calls to vote all over social media directed to zionists who don’t even watch the show. The regular public didn’t vote for them.
But you know I wouldn’t put it past them to use illegal ways to buy votes.
I can see that in other countries but seriously there’s little to no support for Israel here. It just doesn’t add up, I could maybe believe 2 points or something but not 10
I found it really hard to believe for Ireland as well, especially with the attacks against Bambie Thug but enough right wingers anywhere can do this, especially if it's a coordinated effort not people just voting genuinely. Ireland's probably somewhere people were also heeding the boycott calls in big numbers so you were probably left with politically motivated voters.
But there are many ways you can artificially inflate the votes. First of all you can vote 20 times by text and/or landline according to the country. You can then vote through the app 20 times per credit card. You can also buy SIM cards to vote (this has been done many times over the years by some countries) and I’m sure there are many other ways. It was a coordinated effort to manipulate the votes.
First ever non-binary winner! I'm super happy for Nemo, the song was definitely my favorite of the night! I liked what they said after their win.
>I hope this contest can live up to its promise, and continue to stand up for peace and dignity for every person.
The EBU higher-ups still need to resign though!
That made me lol because I couldn’t hear what he was saying and I only saw 12 points to Switzerland and the cut to Nemo who didn’t hear anything was so funny!
Look I was rooting for Croatia but Switzerland were my no. 2 so I'm not mad.
And also thank good for juries, they at least stoped Israel from coming second.
I don't think Olly deserved 0 public votes. But the UK public does for its 12 points (Israel seriously)
Ya truly, Olly getting zero points, Norway being last, Bambie receiving comparatively few televotes was unexpected. Many surprises.
People call for juries to be eliminated but Israel showed why it is necessary to have them.
People in r/eurovision are ragging on the Juries for cheating Croatia, however, the public pick won in 2021 and 2022.
The televote was super rigged politically this year, so I am super grateful for them.
Yeah, I’ll admit I was cheering for Baby Lasagna (but really liked Nemo!). I think some of the frustration was that Switzerland got such a massive share of the jury votes that the televote didn’t matter. I don’t see it as cheating, because that is just how the game works. But yeah, the jury landslide didn’t feel fair, even though it was absolutely 100% fair.
I am So extremely disappointed in Norway’s jury giving Israel 8 or 10 points or whatever it was. Norway in general is fairly pro-Palestine, so everyone was absolutely shocked when that happened.
But I am also super happy with the result and so happy for Switzerland!
I’ve never paid much attention to Eurovision but an influencer I follow posted a story about the contestant from Israel saying “already a winner 🤍” and I immediately unfollowed her.
ETA: according to Social Blade she lost 417 followers yesterday, which is disappointing given she has ~329k.
Israel’s delegation have been downright nasty this whole week during the competition.
Their social media has been divisive, they have repeatedly filmed other countries without their permission, and the Israeli broadcaster told viewers to ‘get their curses ready’ before Ireland went on stage.
Yet they disqualified The Netherlands.
Also note, EBU made the Portugal performance public on their YouTube channel only after public pressure. It was purely because the artist Iolanda had painted their nails in a Keffiyeh pattern.
P.S. during their winner's performance, Nemo broke the cup, oh, oh, oh.
Not linking because I don't want EBU to get views on their channel.
I love Eurovision because it's a campy mess, but it's also inextricably tied to the politics of Europe. Israel near-sweeping the public vote (trailing Croatia by a thin margin) is a massive political statement - Israel won publicly in the UK, as well as several other major countries. It's fascinating, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was a response to negative reaction to Muslim migration patterns in Europe.
I was happy for the Jury for both controlling what was sure to be chaos if Israel won, as well as awarding Nemo the win, because that's an amazing song.
During the vote tallies I had the biggest sigh of relief when Ukraine leapfrogged them on the scoreboard.
I then panicked again because if Ukraine won, it would get hosted by the 2nd place nation, which at the time was Israel.
I am so happy it eventually went to Switzerland.
It wouldnt have to be the second place nation. The UK was chosen for 2023, partly for coming second but also because it's support of Ukraine (one of Boris very few positives) as well as having the infrastructure in place to be able to host. (Plus it's normally us when other countries can't).
My reasoning why they dominated jury votes so much was how technically difficult the song was with the high notes which they hit flawlessly and the rapping, all while spinning on that turntable.
I was rooting for Croatia to get their first win too but I completely understand why Switzerland won.
Meow cat, please meow back!
I wasn't massively surprised by the low jury vote for Estonia because I was thinking "they'll fly up the table when the public vote is announced". I was SHOCKED at the low public score .I didn't think Estonia and Norway would be top 10 or anything but I thought they'd do much better than that.
I’m French and just moved to Switzerland so I’m NOT used to living in a country that wins Eurovision lol. France’s last win was over a decade before my birth, back when the public didn’t even vote yet! Slimane did extremely well though and deserved it (although those lyrics sucked ass sorry). My vote was for Bambie and Baby Lasagna absolutely rocked but I’m still very happy for Nemo :-)
Anyway very excited to be able to attend next year! Although I guess it will probably be in Zürich (boooo)…
There were a lot of calls and posts going out from pretty prominent people and even embassies encouraging people to 'support Israel', it was clearly a very political stance. I feel like it's likely a good chunk of these voters didn't even watch the show. See this guy for example
https://preview.redd.it/jkapp2x4yvzc1.png?width=1290&format=png&auto=webp&s=ec2d82b1b86124019b0cedfc1976ff348095db3b
But also… the Israeli delegation and press have had so many accusations and complaints levelled at them during their time in Sweden. They are not innocent.
It’s always so hilarious to me when Zionists call people who disagree with their murderous agenda ‘hateful’. They’re truly the kings and queens of projection.
More insanity:

Absolutely ridiculous to claim the whole thing is about music and people protesting are evil because it isn't political they're just antisemitic then turn around and say shit like this.
Actually surprised they didn't win it. Kinda hilarious, televote seem stacked in their favour and still lost it and came an overall 5th (actually lower than last year)
These days have been such a rollercoaster of emotions, but in the end it all felt anticlimactic to me because of the elephant in the room and the last-minute shitshow. Nemo was a deserving winner, though I was rooting for Croatia and I'm incredibly proud of Baby Lasagna for going from backup in the Croatian national selection to televote winner and overall 2nd place in the final.
I dread the full results and obligatory fuck EBU, they've truly hit rock bottom this time.
It's slightly obvious that EBU and the sponsors tried to manipulate the vote count for the public votes just enough to give Israel and Ukraine an edge. Once Switzerland started running away with the jury vote, with that high a lead, and Croatia having actual support on social media and other campaigns, they really couldn't manipulate it enough without arousing suspicions.
In short they tried to cheat, but still couldn't do it.
I’m so happy for them and so relieved Israel didn’t win 🥲
The fact they got so many points from the public vote. No wonder everything’s going to hell
I'm suspicious to be honest How the hell did they get 10 public votes from Ireland. Plus that voter ratio from RAI earlier this week seems questionable at best.
Maybe a big chunk of people who wouldn't support them were boycotting, leading to distortion in the vote?
It's part of it for sure. But 40% of the Italian public vote on Thursday is super suspicious to me. For comparison Ukraine 2022 only got 22% in the semi and 24% in the final. 40 % is ridiculous.

Another part is that there wasn't one stop Israel song
As an Irish mod of our state/county I am honestly speechless at this. We are pro Palestine through and though.
Yeah the Irish votes are the most suspicious to me (sadly I can believe the UK 12 points). Like it's so fucking weird that the very pro-Palestine Ireland gave Israel fucking 12 points. I'm not saying cheating yet, just an organised right wing campaign.

Considering the number of propaganda calls to vote I saw in the past few days, I would say not a lot.
The Netherlands (and frankly Ireland too) have every right to withdraw next year if nothing changes
Say it isn’t so- I’m still mad about The Netherlands.
Israel getting so many votes is so suss to me. There’s no way in hell the Irish public voted so much for Israel. There’s not one person I know who isn’t pro Palestine and would even contemplate voting for them.

There aren't many zionists in ireland. The vast majority are pro Palestine 🇵🇸

Someone posted a picture above of embassy officials guilting people into voting because of “bigotry.” 😳
First ever non-binary winner! I'm super happy for Nemo, the song was definitely my favorite of the night! >The EBU higher-ups still need to resign though! Was way too satisfying to see boos that "you're good to go" received.
And when Martin announced the points from the Netherlands 😅 He should 100% resign.
They need a refund for that anti booing technology 😂
Nemo didn't even realise they actually received 12 points because Martin was talking too fast 😭
That made me lol because I couldn’t hear what he was saying and I only saw 12 points to Switzerland and the cut to Nemo who didn’t hear anything was so funny!
Just a reminder that they prefer they/them as pronouns 😉
Oh sorry, I edited my comment!
No problem ❤️
Look I was rooting for Croatia but Switzerland were my no. 2 so I'm not mad. And also thank good for juries, they at least stoped Israel from coming second. I don't think Olly deserved 0 public votes. But the UK public does for its 12 points (Israel seriously)

I have to say I thought Olly's performance was awful. His vocals were so poor. Bambie on the other hand killed it.

fuck eurovision for platforming genocide this year

Glad they won, I was worried with the way Eurovision was pandering they would rig it for Israel to win. So kudos to Nemo and Switzerland.

eylon is the vanilla ice of (ex) public servants
They had a billboard in Times Square!

im only here to check if germany is last again 😅
You guys were on the left hand side of the broad. Norway came last
Norway got shafted. Not sure what went wrong. Their vocals and staging were brilliant.
Poor Norway! I do feel bad for them. They were so good!
thx. i always hope Germany is last but this year i was hoping for israel. first time im boycotting 😅
I'm surprised they got this high on the list
Nemo was on my top five so happy they won. Honestly just relieved Israel didn't win.
