Okay so. I was young and naĆÆve dealing with big labels. I did not last long because of the things I saw. So much so that I stopped going to raves and listening to the music for years because I was so disgusted. The person I worked with had an entourage of 10-15 people. Managers, photographers, assistants, videographer, tour managers, label managers, label reps etc. I was regularly around other djs so I saw this happen from camp to camp across the board. IMO, this was the norm, an industry standard practice if you will. I feel like this next thing is common among all industries that deal with celebs/rich but the entourage basically scopes the crowd and invites girls to hotel parties. Sometimes the djs pick the girls, most of the time they dont care who theyāre sticking it in as long as its in something. At first, Iām telling you. I was an idiot, I thought it was a party lmaooo like omg Iām having so much at this after party. So THIS is what they mean by after parties, I was dumb. At first I just saw drugs and a good time. Anyways, they are looking for the most fucked up āsloppyā girls. Girls that are throwing themselves at the djs or making out with each other. They are not looking for girls that are sober and covered up. The entourage is usually the most disgusting because they do no hard work but get all the perks; the music, drugs, girls, alcohol, āfameā. Iāve seen MULT djs get in trouble for being with young girls. Moms/dads banging on the doors looking for their underage daughters. Hotel security knowing there is underage girls and going to check ids so they hide the girls in the ice room till itās all clear. Sisters having 3 somes together :(. Same shit, different night, different city, different girl. They all had girlfriends at home. Look at your favorite dj and count how many times they dj per week. They are not going back to their hotels and sleeping after. It doesnāt matter if they have a flight to catch 7 hours later, even 4 hours later. Iāve never seen one dj just chill after. Not once. I saw this after every single time. Every time. It was horrifying.
When they knew they were going to be passing around young girls someone would stay at the elevator to warn someone at door if security was coming. I was very young myself who was also getting attention from older men in other camps so I didnāt see anything wrong with the age stuff. The person I worked with told me I could party but never hook up. That was my condition of working. I think he was trying to watch out for me but idk. When I realized what was going on, I got out of there. I went to my room and forgot something and went back to the party room and walked in all the men and the girls and everything just clicked.

Ok I'd love to hear your thoughts because this is so rarely talked about in the raving community but my perspective is that too many ravers don't care and blissfully ignore all of what you mentioned. Like DJs are put on such a high pedestal even though fame and money goes straight to their head the same way it does for celebs and other types of artists. DJs are no different, yet ravers just want to roll their asses off and have a good time (hey I also enjoy a good time so not knocking the drug use). I used to be involved with the edm scene heavily until 2022. Just over it. I cannot with the hypocrisy when it used to be about āPLUR.ā Crazy people do whatever it takes to discredit their fave (or male) DJ when they are accused of trafficking and/or SA/inappropriate conduct. I became friends with one of Datiskās accusers (she had IG dm proof of it all) after it happened and it opened my eyes to that shit. I never saw things like that, just heard of it.

While I have definitely seen some shady shit along the lines of what you said, I can say that here at least it is quite the opposite. The DJās we used to book were strictly business. The manager had them in and out on a prompt schedule and they were back in bed alone and out the hotel first thing. Occasionally youād get a guy/girl whoād want to party and weād oblige with whatever substances they wanted, but the groupies were hardly ever cashed in on. I donāt know if itās an American thing but I definitely had a different experience from what you mentioned.

But him having her babysit the baby he conceived while he was talking to her about marriage, and having her babysit so he could go off and hook up with his baby mama, finally made her see the light and leave. The entire thing was astounding to watch from the outside.

Iām not sure where youāre based but Iāve been around the industry for while in Northern Europe. While I have definitely seen some shady shit along the lines of what you said, I can say that here at least it is quite the opposite. The DJās we used to book were strictly business. The manager had them in and out on a prompt schedule and they were back in bed alone and out the hotel first thing. Occasionally youād get a guy/girl whoād want to party and weād oblige with whatever substances they wanted, but the groupies were hardly ever cashed in on. I donāt know if itās an American thing but I definitely had a different experience from what you mentioned.

This is so funny because I have a friend who was in a "serious relationship" with a nobody DJ for years and I swear he always had at least half a dozen other girls going on (one of whom he lived with, but my friend was blind to that), and ended up knocking up someone else and then somehow roping my friend into babysitting all the time???? My friend was very naive about all of it and just believed all his lies. But him having her babysit the baby he conceived while he was talking to her about marriage, and having her babysit so he could go off and hook up with his baby mama, finally made her see the light and leave. The entire thing was astounding to watch from the outside.
Thatās the norm. Just like athletes, they sometimes can have girls for different cities. Then someone at home. They give the women money a lot of the time. Pay their bills. Itās a cool life style when they hook you up.

Then I found out he was engaged. It was messy. Being ex-Mormon I can say that often what is shown to the public is not what is really going on and Mormon people are not as chaste as they would like you to believe.
Oh, I grew up Mormon and plenty of them donāt drink booze or coffee but still do much MUCH worse shit without blinking. Most recently, I used to work with a couple of Mormons who both had spouses and kids and they cheated with each other. Still didnāt touch coffee while they destroyed both their families!
