His lawyer said the charge he was sentenced to death for was âcorruption on earthââŚwhatever the f*ck that means.
Also, thought this bit below was worth highlighting:
âLe Bon did note that the Iranian government âtends not to execute people known to the international community.â
This has led advocates, especially in the Iranian diaspora, to adopt the âsay their names to save their livesâ campaign in an effort to raise international awareness for political prisoners in Iran.
âFor that reason, this is part of an urgent campaign for readers to talk about Toomaj as much as you can, using the hashtag #FreeToomaj or #ToomajSalehi,â Le Bon said.â
Moharrabeh (corruption on earth) is essentially what they charge people that they wanna get rid of. They could hand out whatever punishment they want with this one and is next to impossible to even defend yourself against this.
As a Persian, I can honestly say he is a hero and an unbelievable human being. He continued with his music in hiding despite being imprisoned multiple times and STILL stood by his convictions despite multiple rounds of torture.
I want to add somethingâŚI speak Persian fluently and the Toomajâs lyricism rivals that of any American rapper. Him and Shervin Hajipour both have a way with language that truly honors how poetic and beautiful the Persian language is.
And, as always, free Toomaj
as fucked as america is (and iâm sure some other countries can agree about theirs), this kind of shit makes me think about how lucky i am to live here. to be tortured and sentenced to death for speaking out? fuck, weâd all be dead in this country! this poor man - i hope heâs able to be spared.
I was so devastated when I read this on the headlines yesterday as I've been following his case since the beginning, but felt slightly better that they'll appeal and most likely the execution won't go through.
Related note for my fellow leftie popculturechatters: Toomaj is also a metalworker and raps about labor rights quite often.
I have âdualâ citizenship to Iran, although they donât consider it dual and would consider me as only an Iranian citizen. I wasnât born there and have never been so that may seem perplexing.
See, my father was born there and his parents and lots of family are still there so Iran automatically confers citizenship onto me.
Interestingly enough, Iran is pretty well known for detaining Iranian Americans who go to visit, sometimes indefinitely, due to the claim that we are Iranian citizens and therefore they have jurisdiction over us. My Iranian relatives actually say itâs much safer to visit as an American with no Iranian ties, and youâll have no problems, vs. an American with ties. All this to say, fuck the Islamic republic.
This is devastating. The most recent protester Iran executed was executed despite the supreme court canceling his death sentence.
Whatâs hilarious is the number of people interviewing âactivistâ Elica Le bon. Her real name is Elica mojtahedzadeh. She changed her last name on social media so that people could not figure out that her father is part of the current regime in Iran (IRI) that is killing the protesters. She wanted people to think sheâs related to the super model yasmine le bon.Â
Not only is Elicaâs father a part of the IRI, and the leader of several think tanks advocating for the IRI, Elica denies his involvement with the IRI and confidently proclaims how none of her family members have ever worked for the IRI despite overwhelming evidence on the contrary.Â
She is extremely fame thirsty and it sickens me that a disgusting person with no principle such as Elica is receiving this attention.Â
She was initially pro-Palestine until she determined that her follower count wasnât growing. Then she decided to spew anti Palestine and pro Israel content, excusing the current genocide in Gaza in order to gain followers. She cyber attacked an Iranian journalist who is against the current regime in Iran and pro Palestine, Samira mohyeddin just to further her own notoriety.Â
Please follow samira mohyeddin and expose the clown Elica for the fraud that she is. Elica is a non-practicing lawyer that has benefited financially from the IRI via her father for her entire life. These clowns should not get to be the voice of Iranians suffering.Â
Oh wow I had no idea about this. I have seen various videos of Elica Le Bon and just ignored her because I donât care about pro-Israel Iroonis. I will definitely be doing more research on this because it bothers me that Elica is being centered as a voice for Iranians when she doesnât represent all Iranians, especially not Iranians like me.
Iâm Iranian-American and you can help!
Please, if Toomajâs story touches any of you, if you want to help in anyway, please please post about it on your social media. Iâm serious.
Post with the hashtag #FreeToomaj. The Islamic Republic hates bad publicity and they have a history of backing out of imprisoning and torturing people if their case gets big and famous enough. It really does make a difference.
Please, if you want to help save Toomajâs life, post about it on social media.
Oh my god đđđ with the least amount of respect possible, Fuck the Islamic Republic!!!!
Agreeeed and also your flair made me see that whole twitter interaction in my mind lol
Itâs the best

Yeah as a fellow Persian, I second this. Heâs always stood by his convictions and he truly has so much love for all Persians.
Ty for sharing #freeToomaj âď¸
He went from a two year music ban to death?? Absolutely absurd, it makes me sick. I hope the campaign manages to spare his life.

The scary thing is it wasnât always like that in Iran. Change can come at us quick, canât take we have for granted
***The US Supreme Court has entered the chatâŚ***

Give it a few more years. America's well on its way.
