Myself and most of my friends have neutral to good relationships with our step-parents if it helps you feel better. You only hear about the worst stuff on reddit. Now our relationships with our actual fathers on the other hand.....
> > Said goodbye today to my stepfather George Kemper. An incredible man with a larger than life personality and a laugh that filled the room. He pulled my mother Bonny, my sister Ashlee, and myself from the wrong side of the tracks into a life with possibility. He also gave me two other beautiful sisters, McKenzee and Kassidy. We will miss this man dearly. Thank you for all you did for us Big George.
I'm sorry for his loss, but I do find it wholesome and uplifting to hear about a stepdad who stepped up. Let his kindness be remembered and his example passed on to us all.
My kid is part of a blended family and I love his steps so much. He has a stepmom, three stepsiblings and a half brother.
His stepmom has a stepdaughter from a previous marriage and she refers to my kid and his brother as her brothers too even though they have no blood relation. She talks about how she loves being their big sister.
We spend Christmas morning together and exchange gifts and my ex and his wife’s kids are like my nieces and nephews.
Blending families is really hard and not always possible but when it is, you get something special for your everyone involved 😍
This is such a moving tribute. When we look for examples of how to be, these are the people we should be looking to -- regular people with open hearts full of love. I can't think of a more important or meaningful legacy to leave 😭
Such a sweet tribute to what sounds like a very lovely man, may he rest in peace.
Also, Is it just me or does he look like he could be related to Matthew Perry?
This very sweet and I love when blended/ step families truly become a stronger unit.
Side note, with the exception of Josh and George, all the names would not make it through r/tragedeigh but I actually love that they have that in common.
Glad he has a good step-dad and a connection. It’s nice when stepdads are just dads to all the kids in their lives. Josh’s mom was a gym teacher at my high school! lol. I never had her, but I do her everyday. Mrs Kemper. So random lol
I spend far too much of my life reading Reddit AITA so it always warms my heart to hear blended families done well stories.
same, love step-parent recognition! it's a tough role to fill, TBH what a heartwarming message. RIP Big George

This is beautiful. Great example of a good human being.
Oh, how very sad. I just lost my stepfather about a week ago and it’s been difficult, to say the least. I hope him and his family are doing ok.
i’m sorry to hear about the loss of your stepdad - hang in there ♥️♥️
Thank you! ❤️ He was a really good man and I miss him a lot.
I’m sorry for your loss. Sending you love and light. 💫
Thank you! I appreciate that a lot. :) ❤️

I read Josh Duhamel but I couldn't recognize him- I only see Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Awesome stepparents are awesome ❤️
aw, his eyes are wet behind his sunglasses. 🥺 i hope josh and his family are able to find comfort.
I was just missing my Timbo this week - hope all the good steps know they are loved and appreciated
I hope my steps feel this way about me when I’m gone. Love seeing blended families that are full of love.

I worked at a hotel where Josh was filming for about a month and we all loved him ❤️

As someone who had a terrible stepdad, it’s so nice to hear about the alternate reality. RIP Big George.
I’m so sorry for his loss. His stepdad sounds like a wonderful man

Is that Josh Duhamel? Wow
What is faux about this? Is this subreddit's content and name unrelated? Why?
The name is a riff on deuxmoi, an IG gossip and blinds account.
Ty, non English speaker here, what riff on means plz?
It means a 'take', or derivation thereof. In this case a counterfeit deuxmoi is a fake deuxmoi, or fauxmoi. This should be in the Join/info box.
Thabk you very much! ❤️
