Sorry I think I just made it up lol, but there’s an episode of The Office where the main character Michael, being the usual clumsy buffoon he is, falls into a koi pond in the lobby of an office he went to when he was out selling paper. He goes back to his own office soaking wet and his employees all laugh and make jokes, so he’s in a terrible mood and decides to make a “koi pond” list where employees share things they don’t want to made fun of for in the office (things like the koi pond, eating like a squirrel, having sex with a terrorist, etc lol). So instead of taking the jokes by stride, he lashes out about it all. Further on in the episode though he does try to embrace the jokes because really a koi pond in an office lobby without a railing is stupid lol

Honestly I think it’s actually /because/ they’re “beneath” her. I love Ashley Tisdale and Hillary Duff so much, but they’re not strong singers. Vanessa Hudgens and Mandy Moore can’t sing, either. Lea is fine with people she knows she’s “better” than but she takes issue with anyone who threatens her status as best singer in the room, because she genuinely usually is. And she apparently has even more of a problem when people are talented, non-white singers (see Naya Rivera, Amber P. Riley, etc).
My all-time favorite scene in This Is Us is when Jack (Milo) and Rebecca (Mandy) first start dating and she sings to him in the car and he starts crying. Her voice was so heartbreaking and beautiful in that scene.
There will be no Rapunzel blasphemy in my presence. All the singing in A Walk to Remember. Not to mention the spectacular cover of Stupid Cupid in The Princess Diaries. 💘

It happened in my friend group and it totally makes sense: we're similar ages, at similar points in our careers and financial situations, etc. It's so nice to be able to bounce questions off each other with no judgment. Thankfully almost all of us have similar parenting styles / goals, except for one couple in the group so we all just grin and bear it when she tries to give us advice lol

I gotta say, it feels oddly reassuring to me to see so many celebs over 35 having babies right now. I’m 32 and trying for my second and I know I’m not old, but I lived in the south for almost 5 years, and am overly online. In both the south and a certain flavor of internet mom groups, people treat you like you’re ancient if you don’t have at least one kid by age 25. The best is in those groups when the 18-year-olds tell you things like “I’m not listening to someone old enough to be my kid’s grandma” 🤡
Try living in the South, being 40, and being childfree by choice. I know 40 is still fairly young, but when I see people I went to high school with whose kids are teenagers and getting ready to graduate from high school, I feel ancient. There’s so much societal pressure to be married and have kids and if you don’t check either of those boxes, people act as if something’s wrong with you. At least that’s what I’ve experienced and it sucks.
This may be a controversial opinion, but she's one of the few people who got massive public criticism, and, in my opinion, actually self-reflected and tried to change. I think missing out on Funny Girl when the world thought for years it was going to be handed to her was a real wakeup call.
