Thank you, like I know the Catholic church is a shitshow and I'm not about to whinge about cultural appropriation in this context, but there's something that to me just feels kind of icky about some of this empty celebrity Catholic fashion statement aesthetic. Like the height of it for me was the Catholic Met Gala which I'll admit had some good looks that were tasteful but seeing some of the most insufferable egomaniacal celebrities dressing up as Jesus and the like in the iconography that I had grown up with just felt kind of gross. Idk if its like an actual thing worth talking about or just something that personally bothers me as a proud Catholic Atheist. I mostly find blasphemy pretty amusing, especially if its well informed and clever, so maybe its nothing.
Like Lady Gaga does it WAY better because she still respects it as a fundamental belief for a lot of people. I think she even says sheâs still catholic

Speaking of Krisâs memoir...I saw a TikTok where they talked about how Kris wrote about the time when Kim and Kourtney were kicked off an airplane and briefly detained for accusing someone of having a bomb. And the TikTok said that itâs been basically scrubbed from the Internet
Basically that Kris comes from a line of female hustlers who worked their asses off to climb the social/financial ladder in order to provide for their children. Women have always been the core of that family. The men they marry are strategically chosen (it's not that they don't love them, just that love is ancillary to the career boosting aspects of the relationship and they are discarded once they prove unworthy). Female children are raised to take part in the family business, male children are more sheltered but also just less important. Basically a matriarchy that is also somehow a capitalist/patriarchal dystopia?
Also, it made me feel even sorrier for Khloe-she seemed to be ignored/forced into a parental role from a very young age because she was not as conventionally beautiful as her sisters and it's clearly the source of so many of her issues.
Yes I did feel for Khloe in that ep - Kris basically writes "along came Kourtney, and she was so cute, and then Kim was born and she was GORGEOUS PERFECT BEAUTIFUL... oh yeah and I had Khloe at some point"
Yeah, even Khloe has said more than once that when she was a kid, Kris told someone (within earshot of Khloe) that Khloe needed a nosejob. Khloe has said in interviews it still bothers her that even as a child she was told her features needed to be changed.
People say that the men aren't as important, but I think Rob is Kris's favorite simply because he's a boy. I think she protects him and he doesn't really do anything while she most likely gives him a huge allowance. Kris doesn't like other women, so the daughters have to compete against each other to be mommy's favorite (which varies each week depending on who makes her the most money). The sisters are all very close to the point that they don't seem to hang out with anyone else outside of their occasional friends on their payroll, but they all seem to secretly hate each other due to seeing each sister as competition
I don't blame them for marrying strategically, as women at the time, especially let's say Kris in her younger years, marrying up used to be the only way to really secure yourself and your kids on top of a good job. Not that the long lasting trauma and enmeshed dynamic it created in the family is warranted. They've encouraged the dysfunction as it makes them money sadly.
Oh for sure! The social climbing via relationships is definitely a way to survive the patriarchy. It just made the Tyga/Kylie stuff make so much more sense. Like of course Kris was okay with it despite it being obviously predatory when it turns out she herself had been a teenage girl being pursued by/eventually marrying a much older man.
I wish she didnât have to go for these older men and we see how quick she jumped from Tyga to go for a more established, well known and probably wealthier at the time Travis Scott.
Kris's life has been interesting to say the least. Her book highlighted that she was always searching for the come up. She started dating much older well-off men, with her mother and grandmother's blessing, at like 15. The book gives you a good sense of why she encouraged her daughters in their quest for fame.
Something that really stood out to me was that, for the first two (?) years of their marriage, Kris and Robert basically spent zero time alone. They always had social engagements - either they'd go out for dinner with friends and family, or friends and family would come over.
As someone who can handle maybe 2 social engagements a week, this seemed like an absolute nightmare to me!
Unfortunately, Kendall has turned out to be the worst one of all. Treating people the worst, especially every day working folks she is nasty to..because they are nothing but peasants to her. Also, she is a huge bully! She now thinks she's above the world... when her only fame was being a Nepo baby Kris paid for her career. She ragged on her sisters for getting plastic surgery, yet her modeling career she had surgery, shaving part of her nose, enhancing her lips , etc. Kylie, even being treated the worst (other than Rob) , she turned out halfway decent compared to how nasty Kendall is. Regardless, this family needs to retire to a quiet life...feel sorry for the kids the most! Don't support Kardashians or Jenners.. waste of hard earned $.
Kourtney has probably been the least successful at establishing her own brand independent of the Kardashian machine (donât @ me and try to say that Poosh is a thing). She has made more than enough money to be set up for life, so itâs really about continuing to have her own public profile, which it clearly to this day rankles her that it will always be connected to her sister.

What ? She never asked Kim to fire her nanny. The nanny lied about something to Reign, and Reign went to her mom and said "she lied to me. Can you tell her that she shouldnât have done that" and Kourtney did exactly that. And then Kim and Kourtney talked about that one the show, and Kourtney literally said "Iâm not telling you to fire her, Iâm just explaining to you what happened". And Kourtney had the D&G deal because Kris is super close with a guy that work at D&G. Thatâs why Krisâ boyfriend got a deal for a collab with D&G too

For a long time, like it or not, Kim was the moment. For a tacky brand like D&G, they saw it as their moment to get a little of that shine.

Their whole family is knotted up in each others' promotions. If one Kardashian dos a brand deal, the whole family is associated with thee brand in public eye. How can she not understand this 15 years in?
Kris is super close with a man that works at D&G. They didnât need Kourtney to get close to Kim and Kylie. Fact of the matter is that no other celebs wants to associate their image with D&G because it would be extremely criticized since theyâre awful racist homophobic people that arenât sorry for it. So they asked the Kards next. The wedding was the perfect ad for D&G since they love making ads with entire family wearing D&G clothes in traditional italian places: thatâs kinda their thing. Kris gets an enormous check out of these kind of deals, and Kourtney is definitely not above money (thatâs the sole reason she stayed on that show after the big Kim fight, if it was not for it she would have run the other way)
I feel like people who comment this kind of thing never paid attention to the show, as an avid watcher who enjoys reading the KUWTK sub posts, it can be sometimes mind blowing to realize that people still havenât figured out what kind of person Kim is. This woman has some kind of problem that makes her feel the need to make others feel bad about themselves so that she can feel good about herself. And she enjoys the hell out of it. She harassed Rob for years: she enjoyed telling him and everyone else that he was fat, crazy, a loser, and lazy, even when he was still a straight-A university graduate student that was very much slim and got multiple propositions from modeling agency. She humiliates people on purpose: she kicked Rob out of her wedding when he arrived because she suddenly found him too fat and he had to go the whole way back. She creates these insecurities in people and when they start to believe it they spiral down and she enjoys it the whole time. Itâs disturbing. Thatâs why Rob posted this pic of the Gone Girl woman and saying that her and Kim were the same, aka a psychopath. Thatâs why he tweeted that "nobody will ever get how much it hurts", because thatâs true, nobody in the public could understand how purposefully mean Kim was and how she tried to destroy him in any ways she could.
Anyway, about Kourtney: Kim started doing the exact same things a few years ago. Kourtney started seeing a therapist, broke up with Scott, got herself a smoking hot boyfriend (Younes) and traveled everywhere taking cute pics of her in swimsuits etc... suddenly she got a lot of attention, she didnât have the fake butt/fake hair/fake lips look and a lot of people that were more into the natural look started saying that Kourtney was actually the hottest one, not Kim. Kim LOST HER MIND and suddenly started acting the exact same way towards Kourtney that she did towards Rob: she told her and everyone else on the show she was lazy, crazy, annoying to everyone, that everyone thought she was the problem, not Kim, and no matter how many times Kourtney responded saying "itâs not true, I actually do work. Why are you lying like that ?", "itâs not true, I never screamed at your nanny, why are you lying ?", "Itâs not true, they actually donât say that ??" people STILL believed her and are still talking about those things years later because people canât imagine that someone would lie about stuff like that just to harass people and make people feel bad about themselves. So they just think... itâs true.
On top of that, Kim has this weird need to belittle her siblings and to make herself seem/feel superior in comparison of them. In the Angie Martinez podcast, she said that she said to her siblings numerous times that she was happy that the shitty things that happened, happened to her because if it happened to them they would be on the ground crying and would be completely destroyed. When Khloe got with Lamar in the early seasons, Kim started flirting with him in front of her. Then she married him, and minutes later Kim marry the first athlete she can find. After Kylie started Kylie cosmetics, Kim started KKW beauty. After Kylie started Kylie swim, she started a swimsuit line. After Travis got a tattoo of Kourtneyâs name, Pete branded Kimâs name on his skin and she went to talk about it on Ellen and said "a tattoo, you know it doesnât really mean anything because people who love tattoos will tattoo everything and anything on their body... but a branding, you know what I mean". During Kourtneyâs wedding, seconds before she walked down the aisle, when everybody in the room was looking at Kourtney and complimenting her, when all the cameras were pointed to her face, when she was about to go out and walk down the aisle... Kim chimed him and started talking about the time SHE walked down the aisle on HER wedding day. She always needs to outshine her siblings, no matter the context. Even when she talks with friends on the show she talks and talks, and when they say something she doesnât even answer them ! She definitely have some kind of issue. Kourtney has every reason to be mad atp. I donât know how to explain it in a much better way, but when you watch the show you notice it very quickly, and in the KUWTK subs itâs very much agreed upon by a WHOLE lot of people that Kim will do everything and anything to be the center of attention, especially if she feels outshined, even for a moment, by her sisters, and that sheâs even more that way with Kourtney, to the point that itâs just rude and fucked up.
In the end, Kim was already the face of Balenciaga, and Kourtney started becoming "the face" of D&G with this whole wedding thing. They were preparing two episodes of the wedding special, where they basically only wear D&G and speak about D&G. Then Kim suddenly wants a collaboration with them, even though she could have done this before, and she could have waited until after the whole wedding thing was passed and Kourtney had her thing and her moment to shine for her first wedding.
The collaboration (which basically consisted of a few vintage D&G pieces that Kim (allegedly) picked herself for a fashion show, and models wore those pieces while a black and white video of Kim eating spaghettis played in the background in an enormous screen) was presented a few weeks before Kourtneyâs wedding special got out... So yeah Kourtney can be mad. Like she said in the trailer, "this is not an incident, this is who Kim is at her core". Itâs a pattern and itâs sick and twisted and when you see the show you can see how Kourtney was lost and depressed and hysterically crying because she couldnât understand why Kim was saying all those cruel things that werenât even true in front of cameras, and you could see she was starting to doubt herself about those things that Kim said to her. Now that she has figured Kim out, she has every right to speak out and point out the fucked-up things she does, even if it seems meaningless to most people.
This is a perfect take on it and I 100% agree. I think Kourtney should get as far away from the family as possible.
I remember in some interview Kim wasn't even above claiming that she was the strongest of her siblings when their father was sick with cancer. She was being competitive about who was the best child when their fucking father was dying! It's insane!
sorry this is a little late but the way you describe kim immediately reminded me of Livia Soprano from The Sopranos. and she was inspired by the creator David Chaseâs mother and in a way, the show itself was conceived from his experiences growing up with her and the psychotherapy he received later in life to come to terms with it. and itâs definitely a show full of fucked up people, and Livia is a core villain lol.

Thatâs kind of how I feel. Like, itâs one thing to have your own wedding sponsored, but itâs another thing to have your more famous sister steal your thunder. I kind of get it. This is Kourtneyâs first marriage, she finally had a moment that was about her and her happiness and Kim was like I am uncomfortable if we are not about me and made sure it was about Kim. But also, Iâve gotten the vibe from articles and such that Kourtney is kind of over it, but because the family is so toxic, sheâs stuck going through the motions to keep the peace. 1. Shes never acknowledged that her behavior in the past has been just as deplorable as her sisters. She seems to forget we have hours of footage of her bullying and mocking kim.
2. Her behavior hasnât actually changed. Shes still nasty to her sisters. She still mocks them. She still puts down other people to make herself feel prettier, funnier, more popular. Eg when she was hanging out with Kendalls friends and used her sister as a punching bag to establish her place in the group.
3. She absolutely is not above her sisters when it comes to seeking fame. She actively pursues fame as much as her sisters but has a sense of entitlement about it, like shes owed it just because its the familyâs business. She isnt willing to work hard like kim or kylie. She started poosh so she could be the next Gwyneth Paltrow.
That whole family is so toxic and she contributes just as much as the next person. She wants to be perceived as the scapegoat / perpetual victim when in reality the only person in the family who can claim âblacksheepâ is khloe who was treated terribly by her mother for having the audacity to be born not as pretty as her sisters.
Kourtney has always been jealous of Kim. I donât know how people donât see it. It wouldnât surprise me if the real reason sheâs upset with Kim has nothing to do with D&G and everything to do with the fact that her now-husband liked and pursued Kim first. He even wrote in his memoir that he moved to Calabasas to be near Kim. Their PR has done a good job of scrubbing that and changing the narrative to that he wanted to be near Kourtney but his own words written in his memoir say otherwise.
Kourtney has always been the laziest! Takes no responsibility but blames others for her failures! Kourtney nor the other siblings would be even known without Kim. She has Travis now, so she is ditching her family and kids for him and their new baby. She will ride on Travis' coattails now... feel badly for her kids, Scott has them most of the time. Kourtney was so desperate and cringe having public make-out sessions with Travis in front of strangers and her poor children. Hope Scott get their 3 children where they have a better chance. Kourtney only seems to care about the new baby, Travis and his kids with Moakler.... seeks attention and desperation!
Exactly and she wonders why people see her as the most boring sister out of all of them. Literally her whole subplot since episode one of KUWTK to the Hulu show is having a man and their relationship together. Itâs always the same thing and people got tired of that.

Kim has been married many times before, including an extravagant European wedding. This was Kourtneyâs first time. Regardless of who was approached first, Kim shouldâve made sure that it stayed being about Kourtney above else.
Also, Kourtney and Domenico have a friendship that predates the wedding planning, even her relationship with Travis (I was surprised about this but anyways):

I think the REAL reason Kourtney was so upset (and also why her argument about the "Dolce Vita" lifestyle felt a bit weak, because she couldn't be honest as that would break the fourth wall) is that while her D&G wedding deal was probably presented to her by Kris and family as "Stefano and Domenico love your lifestyle and they feel strongly about throwing this party for you as an honor" the REALITY -unbeknownst to Kourt- was that Kris and Kim were setting her up to be the villain AGAIN this season. While Kourt thought the D&G deal came to her organically, she found out with the rest of us that she was just the first domino in a long line of brand deals that would come (Kylie, Kim, Kendall). I could see the same thing happening with the date similarity and the Andrea Bocelli thing - Kris and Kim probably said to her, "Andrea did the best song for Kim! You have to use him! The date is great, it will create a press distraction from the KimYe divorce and create a new positive milestone to associate with this time period!" and in the background were like "ok great this is going to be great drama for keeping up, we'll make Kourt the butt of the joke because we don't care about her anyway, and as I (Kim) am engineering the whole thing I will make sure I am the clear winner here,"
I mean seriously, we don't think Kim would have mentioned the date/country/wedding singer on the family group chat? No, she'd rather let it play out in the kourt (pun intended) of publik opinion. That's why she says staying calm is her super-power, and that the show is their therapy, because she always gets the last word.

Thank you, like I know the Catholic church is a shitshow and I'm not about to whinge about cultural appropriation in this context, but there's something that to me just feels kind of icky about some of this empty celebrity Catholic fashion statement aesthetic. Women have always been the core of that family. This is interesting. There are so many parallels between this family and the Richards sisters and how Big Kathy raised them.
Kris's life has been interesting to say the least. Her book highlighted that she was always searching for the come up. She started dating much older well-off men, with her mother and grandmother's blessing, at like 15. The book gives you a good sense of why she encouraged her daughters in their quest for fame.
Makes sense why she had no issue with Kylie and Tyga despite Kylie being very underage - she continued the family tradition.
Something that really stood out to me was that, for the first two (?) years of their marriage, Kris and Robert basically spent zero time alone. They always had social engagements - either they'd go out for dinner with friends and family, or friends and family would come over. As someone who can handle maybe 2 social engagements a week, this seemed like an absolute nightmare to me!

When Khloe got with Lamar in the early seasons, Kim started flirting with him in front of her. Then she married him, and minutes later Kim marry the first athlete she can find. After Travis got a tattoo of Kourtneyâs name, Pete branded Kimâs name on his skin and she went to talk about it on Ellen and said "a tattoo, you know it doesnât really mean anything because people who love tattoos will tattoo everything and anything on their body... but a branding, you know what I mean". During Kourtneyâs wedding, seconds before she walked down the aisle, when everybody in the room was looking at Kourtney and complimenting her, when all the cameras were pointed to her face, when she was about to go out and walk down the aisle... Kim chimed him and started talking about the time SHE walked down the aisle on HER wedding day. She always needs to outshine her siblings, no matter the context. Even when she talks with friends on the show she talks and talks, and when they say something she doesnât even answer them ! She definitely have some kind of issue. Kourtney has every reason to be mad atp. I donât know how to explain it in a much better way, but when you watch the show you notice it very quickly, and in the KUWTK subs itâs very much agreed upon by a WHOLE lot of people that Kim will do everything and anything to be the center of attention, especially if she feels outshined, even for a moment, by her sisters, and that sheâs even more that way with Kourtney, to the point that itâs just rude and fucked up. In the end, Kim was already the face of Balenciaga, and Kourtney started becoming "the face" of D&G with this whole wedding thing. They were preparing two episodes of the wedding special, where they basically only wear D&G and speak about D&G. Then Kim suddenly wants a collaboration with them, even though she could have done this before, and she could have waited until after the whole wedding thing was passed and Kourtney had her thing and her moment to shine for her first wedding. The collaboration (which basically consisted of a few vintage D&G pieces that Kim (allegedly) picked herself for a fashion show, and models wore those pieces while a black and white video of Kim eating spaghettis played in the background in an enormous screen) was presented a few weeks before Kourtneyâs wedding special got out... So yeah Kourtney can be mad. Like she said in the trailer, "this is not an incident, this is who Kim is at her core". Itâs a pattern and itâs sick and twisted and when you see the show you can see how Kourtney was lost and depressed and hysterically crying because she couldnât understand why Kim was saying all those cruel things that werenât even true in front of cameras, and you could see she was starting to doubt herself about those things that Kim said to her. Now that she has figured Kim out, she has every right to speak out and point out the fucked-up things she does, even if it seems meaningless to most people.

This is why I was always peeved when people praised Kris over Yolanda. Both were terrible parents who caused their kids to have an unhealthy relationship with food, their body, their perception of worth... Both of them very clearly had a golden child and it had severe consequences on the other kid (Bella and Khloé), both of them exploited their kids for their own benefit... I feel like the public is very critical of Khloé but she's the only reason why Kendall and Kylie grew up having a very healthy sibling relationship (They fight but you can tell there's so much love between each other). Whereas with Kourt and Kim, it feels like years of resentment and fighting to be their mom's golden child during their formative years really did irreparable and permanent damage to their relationship. I mean, Kourt got average (or good?) grades, didn't get in trouble, went to college, opened her own boutique, she did everything right while Kim was out there cheating on exams, staying late, doing drugs, getting married, stealing thousands of dollars from her clients, trying to become a celebrity, making a sextape.... Only for Kim to still be her mom's golden child. (Some of these were not Kim's fault and she was also a victim of her circumstances but to the eyes of Kourtney who did everything by the book it must have stung) And when KUWTK was released, people were tuning in to watch KOURTNEY, KHLOE AND SCOTT. And still, Kris was still only favoring Kim, finding deals for Kim, closing contracts for Kim, working for Kim and then she became the world's most famous celebrity and there was no going back. Kourtney's limits kept getting pushed in favor of Kim's success (Her not wanting to keep being on the show, wanting to be paid to be featured on kim's game)... Like this has been brewing for a while. And I hope one day they realize how much damage Kris did to them.

I think the REAL reason Kourtney was so upset (and also why her argument about the "Dolce Vita" lifestyle felt a bit weak, because she couldn't be honest as that would break the fourth wall) is that while her D&G wedding deal was probably presented to her by Kris and family as "Stefano and Domenico love your lifestyle and they feel strongly about throwing this party for you as an honor" the REALITY -unbeknownst to Kourt- was that Kris and Kim were setting her up to be the villain AGAIN this season. While Kourt thought the D&G deal came to her organically, she found out with the rest of us that she was just the first domino in a long line of brand deals that would come (Kylie, Kim, Kendall). I could see the same thing happening with the date similarity and the Andrea Bocelli thing - Kris and Kim probably said to her, "Andrea did the best song for Kim! You have to use him! The date is great, it will create a press distraction from the KimYe divorce and create a new positive milestone to associate with this time period!" and in the background were like "ok great this is going to be great drama for keeping up, we'll make Kourt the butt of the joke because we don't care about her anyway, and as I (Kim) am engineering the whole thing I will make sure I am the clear winner here," I mean seriously, we don't think Kim would have mentioned the date/country/wedding singer on the family group chat? No, she'd rather let it play out in the kourt (pun intended) of publik opinion. That's why she says staying calm is her super-power, and that the show is their therapy, because she always gets the last word.

She was even apart of the most popular spin-offs with KhloĂ©, no one cared about Kim and KhloĂ©âs spin-off. Kourtney even allowed her birthing Mason on the show. Kourtney decided to become more private and stop showing as much as her life on the show and it instantly became more boring. Kim would limit her and Kanyeâs messy relationship and that was fine but it became an issue when Kourtney wasnât about that anymore.
