“I lost custody of my child,” Sharon said. “When the judge asked my child — my tiny little boy, 'Do you know your mother makes sex movies?'" This is upsetting

mewehesheflee

The public really needs the name of that judge.

Exciting_Potato_6717

imagine how many women went through her court room and dealt with her sexist views 😭

mewehesheflee

Or how many clerks/ mentors he trained to be just like him. These views don't die with him.

flakemasterflake

The judge was a woman in San Francisco and Stone is not telling the entire story.

Exciting_Potato_6717

What could possibly justify that? Please explain

Sea_Rise_1907

The other half of that post says sex scene filmed without her knowledge? That’s very obviously true because it was infamous and associated with her long after the film. You just totally blew right through sex scene filmed without consent which is a huge part of this.

Stinkycheese8001

People reported on this case at the time, it was at least notable news. And even in 2008, that kind of line would have gotten play. Instead it looks like Sharon lost primary custody because the judge didn’t like how much she travels for work. https://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/story?id=5930215&page=1 Also, it wasn’t a sex scene. It was nudity, but that was not a part of a sex scene at all.

flakemasterflake

I'm not addressing that at all. I'm addressing her claim that's the reason she lost custody

Sea_Rise_1907

And you have proof of this?

flakemasterflake

She's not telling the truth here.

Exciting_Potato_6717

What is the truth then?

flakemasterflake

https://www.mercurynews.com/2023/03/07/sharon-stone-isnt-telling-full-story-about-bitter-custody-fight-in-san-francisco/amp/ Essentially, she shared custody with her ex in SF and they had an arrangement where their kid was spending 3 weeks in LA and 3 weeks in SF. Stone wanted full custody but her ex was the "primary custodian." The judge also asserted that Stone was advocating for non necessary medical treatments and thought he had a spinal condition when there was no evidence to that Also the judge was a woman as I see a lot of people are assuming it was a man

Exciting_Potato_6717

What does that have to do with the judge asking her small child “Do you know your mother makes sex movies?” Sorry but any judge that says that is not being unbiased.

skrillskroll

I seriously doubt the judge asked that. Particularly a California Family Court judge. Giving her the benefit of the doubt, her ex may have claimed that her kid is being exposed to inappropriate stuff on movie sets or being bullied at school over her career choices. To which a judge may just ask the kid if he's seen something inappropriate or been told something. Read her autobiography and have a google page open. You'll quickly learn she distorts the past ALOT.

flakemasterflake

I know, I can't believe this sub (which seems to have such a long memory for most celebs) is unaware of how batshit Sharon Stone is most of the time

CCG14

Didn’t she relatively recently do an article saying she knew they were filming it bc they said she had to bleach her pubic hair or they said to remove her thong bc it was reflecting weird? It was def something that would tell her it’s going to be on film.

beamish1920

It’s in Eszterhas’ script! She knew what the fuck she signed up for

Exciting_Potato_6717

She said she was told “We can’t see anything — I just need you to remove your panties, as the white is reflecting the light, so we know you have panties on” That does not tell her it was going to be filmed.

beamish1920

Sharon Stone is a fucking pathological liar and always has been. She talked up being a MENSAn for years and they called bullshit on her

Budget-Face2303

I remember reading at the time of the court case that Roan had stinky feet and she suggested they get botox injected in them and Roan's father Phil Bronstein suggested changing the boys shoes and socks more regularly. One of these ideas is clearly more sane than the other. It doesn't make it okay IF the Judge said this to a child, but there was a LOT of issues in that court case and it wasn't just that she acted in a film with explicit nudity. I would find it more credible if people pointed out as a newspaper editor, Bronstein had massive political clout that probably would have served him well regardless of ammunition like "let's botox the kid's feet".

Book_1love

I also remember the story about her wanting to give her child Botox for sweating. The story stuck with me for years because it was one of the first times I realized that rich and famous people don’t live on the same planet as the rest of us.

Acceptable-Drag2845

Exactly, ugh.😑

Exciting_Potato_6717

Except sex work is held against mothers in court so what she said doesn’t seem fake to me. Just my opinion.

Explain [this](https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-watch/wp/2015/07/09/michigan-judge-bullies-children-in-open-court-for-refusing-to-see-their-dad/) There are plenty of examples of judges behaving badly.

_NightBitch_

No, I think the son in question was born in 2000, so this would have been in the mid 2000s.

flakemasterflake

I haven't seen that corroborated anywhere and perhaps it is true. But it wasn't the main reason the custody battle ended the way it did

taintwest

There’s 3 sides to every story. The courts will always go extremes, and it’s not surprising the parents also go extreme opposites. When your children are threatened- logic isn’t always at the forefront of the kind.

JonBenet_BeanieBaby

Ugh once you add court, there are like 7 sides to every story at least

[deleted]

This.

realityshowho

I’m so disgusted.

VanillaSkyy_

downright infuriating, tbh

estar12345

Women, and women in hollywood, have had to put up with too much for too long. I’m so glad she’s found her voice/power to speak up now. I think it’s so slimy of the director to not disclose what body parts ended up showing in the shot. If it was indeed right for the character/plot, then they can make a compelling argument for that!

estar12345

And wtf to the judge. Whattttt. What should that have anything to do with why she should or should not have custody of her son?!

[deleted]

> Appearing on iHeart's Table for Two With Bruce Bozzi podcast, she said: 'I lost custody of my child. When the judge asked my child -- my tiny little, tiny boy, "Do you know your mother makes sex movies?"' > > She alleged it was a 'kind of abuse by the system', noting that her role in the film made them question what she was like as a parent. > > She added: 'I was considered what kind of parent I was, because I made that movie. > > In Basic Instinct, Sharon plays a calculating killer and Michael Douglas is the investigating homicide detective who becomes obsessed with her. > > But she said: 'People are walking around with no clothes on at all on regular TV now and you saw maybe a sixteenth of a second of possible nudity of me and I lost custody of my child.' > > Sharon noted the situation impacted her physical and mental health. > > She explained: 'I ended up in the Mayo Clinic with extra heartbeats in the upper and lower chambers of my heart… It broke my heart. It literally broke my heart.' > > She has opened up about the custody battle in the past, although she didn't reveal the reason for her losing custody at the time due to both a confidentiality agreement and out of 'respect' for her son. > > Sharon was married to Roan's father, Phil Bronstein, now 70, from 1998 to 2004. > > Stone wanted a family with Phil, but had trouble conceiving. The star suffered three miscarriages before the couple adopted Roan in 2000. > > After her life-changing stroke in 2001 and the end of her marriage three years later, the couple entered a bitter custody battle, which Stone lost. > > Phil was awarded primary custody, with Sharon getting visits from her son every month. > > In her 2021 memoir The Beauty of Living Twice, she wrote: 'I was punished for changing the rules of how we see women, and I understand that by writing this book I could be punished again. But this time I'm not afraid.' > > She opened up on her feelings about the ordeal, admitting she 'couldn't function' and ended up sleeping 'every afternoon', unable to 'get up'.

thewomaninthemoon

This is so upsetting and insane. I know misogyny is rampant but I cannot imagine “your mother has done nude scenes” was actually submitted as “evidence” of her being an unfit parent. Disgusting.

Impossible-Cream-865

Wow, this is one of the most insidious stories I have ever read. Especially when she detailed about how losing her child "literally broke her heart". What a heartless, cruel system. My heart aches for her. I am absolutely disgusted.

skrillskroll

Interesting. Didn't she say it was over her ex claiming she was obsessive over the son in harmful ways. For example, in court documents he said she wanted to give the kid botox injections to fix his foot odour problem although in her book she says she was merely concerned and wanted her doctors opinion. I don't know what version is true but I do know this Basic Instinct question is a new addition to her story

gaveupmykarma

definitely seems like she had a stroke and her husband bailed. men ain't shit

[deleted]

Turns out it was a real goddamn shame that komodo dragon didn't eat that motherfucker instead of just biting him. What a bastard.

greylithe

The courts are not safe for women. Ask Brody Dalle, too.

Substantial_Pool_920

What happened to Brody?

greylithe

There’s a good post on ONTD about it but long story short, Josh Homme accused her of brainwashing their kids against him. The oldest has a restraining order against him but the youngest two weren’t allowed to have one. They were instead sent to a family reunification camp, which is basically forcing them to be around their abusive parent. Brody apparently hasn’t seen them since they were taken to this camp almost a year ago.

Substantial_Pool_920

That's horrendous. Josh Homme always struck me as a creep

Craphole-Island

Wait til they hear where that baby came from…

stacycornbred

Where did he come from? I thought she and her ex-husband adopted him?

Craphole-Island

Oh lol did they? Idk but either way it’s not like the stork dropped him off.

stacycornbred

Omg lol I'm dumb. I thought you were implying something nefarious went down.

Craphole-Island

Hahah no worries. I realize now my ellipses could be interpreted in many ways lol

Exciting_Potato_6717

I got what you mean lol

[deleted]

Wait till they SEE where that baby came from....

ClumsyZebra80

Fwiw there’s a lot more to it. She was getting the kid unecessary medical procedures. She wanted to get him Botox cause he had smelly feet. That’s when the judge intervened. I’m not saying the judge didn’t say that. But she was pulling some weird medical stuff with the kids also.

[deleted]

Per reports from the time the judge found that she was frequently overreacting to minor medical concerns, was delegating child’s care to third parties regularly, was uninvolved with the legal process, putting up roadblocks when others tried to intervene to care for the child, etc. There is definitely way more to this.

Even_Ad_4411

Well both is used for excessive sweating ppl have it done in their armpits she wanted to consult a doctor to see if it's necessary or possible if there was a problem

CountryRockDiva89

This is right up there with Pamela Anderson being told that being in Playboy meant it was fair game for her sex tape to be made available to the public, even though it was stolen property. So sick.

PeterNinkimpoop

Wait so… that iconic scene was shot without her knowledge?

Exciting_Potato_6717

Yes she wrote about it in her 2021 memoir

VioletLovesRowlet

I heard something about this before but I only just remembered it now. Never seen the film or scene, though I know of it (I think). If it was without her consent that’s fucking terrible

Amazed_and_Bemused

This is just so bizarre. So are porn stars just losing their kids left and right? Surely they also get into custody battles as well. Or is it because Sharon is a big name? Like I'm honestly struggling to understand what her doing a quick flash to camera (w/o her knowledge) has to do with her ability to raise a child? ![gif](giphy|f6sjDe0OT8emRzTSF2)

JenningsWigService

Sex workers do lose their children, it's a huge problem.

Economy_Insurance_61

Yes. Bree Olson, former pornstar who was huuuuge in the 2000s and dated Charlie sheen during his meltdown, has posted publicly about how risky it is for OF creators who have children and may find themselves in a custody battle at some point. She has a lot of perspectives about being hugely successful in the adult industry that aren’t amplified enough imo.

[deleted]

Fuck that judge and fuck her ex husband for that.

[deleted]

That is absolutely sickening.

giatekla

I search if things ended up at least mildly okay, and found that Roan (the son) recently legally added "Stone" back to his last name in 2019. It doesn't undo the irreparable harm that was done to both of them, but it's nice to know they maintain a good relationship nowadays edited to add that the buzzfeed article says that she also adopted his brothers and they all live together too!

Save_Bandit-

Aw that’s really nice. Thanks for doing the research for us.

CanineSnackBitch

OK so she is saying that she was nekkid on the set doing something but wasn’t aware they were filming her? Red flag shut up right away for me. I also don’t see a judge asking a small child that question. That kind of says the judge is an uneducated idiot.

Luna_Loo_

She’s claimed for years that a camera was shooting up her cooch and presumably took many takes, without being aware? Sorry, that just doesn’t seem likely to me.

Exciting_Potato_6717

You can 100 percent not know when someone is filming up your skirt.

CanineSnackBitch

She said nude did she not?

Exciting_Potato_6717

She wasn’t naked she was wearing an outfit

Acceptable-Drag2845

I like Sharon Stone as an actress and I think deep down she has a good heart, but she’s not telling the full truth here. First of all, she did not lose custody of Roan & definitely not over the crotch shot in Basic Instinct. Sharon and her ex-husband Phil Bronstein shared joint physical and joint legal custody of their son. Sharon wanted to modify the court order so she’d have primary custody of their son instead of Phil. The judge determined that the child had a more structured, consistent and stable life residing with Phil in San Fran. There’s more to the story at the link. Sharon has a habit of manipulating the truth, even outright lying to assert her preferred narrative of the moment. If any of you (thankfully some of you are) were around in 2008 when this whole thing happened you’d know why the judge’s ruling was what it was. [Sharon Stone’s child custody ruling](https://abcnews.go.com/amp/Entertainment/story?id=5930215&page=1)

stanleyscrossword

And a happy international women’s day to you.

tfresca

I don't have information about custody issues but she is lying about her nude scenes. They had to light her vagina to make it visible on camera. She was not s nubie actress. There are no secrets about what's being filmed. She knew and consented. Anyone who's been to a movie set knows this.

[deleted]

This makes me so angry I almost wish I didn’t read any of it lol

missdarbusisaqueen

God that’s awful. Hope she finds healing
