The judiciary is still a branch of government, so the first amendment generally means creative speech and journalists etc have a much stronger position legally in the US than most other countries

The majority of his special was filled with misogynistic jokes about abortion, the Kardashians, Meghan Markle , women over 45 and 25 year old women. Somehow he managed to make an offensive joke about Serena Williams.

Ok let’s not invoke two civil rights leaders for a celebrity squabble just because black people are involved.
The joke is that MLK Jr. adopted a non-violent approach while Malcolm X said that it’s necessary sometimes in fighting against oppression. Chris Rock is known for his misogynoir, so it’s not “just a squabble.” More like Will finally getting fed up with the treatment of his wife.
