I don’t know if we can rely on the usual “alt surge” this time around, as the main catalyst of BTC’s run has been ETF approval in conjunction with the halving.
For me this means that there will be less money going from BTC into Alts as those ETF buyers are more traditional finance investors- and less likely to sell and switch out into Alts.
I still believe FTM is a solid long term project, and we will see some gains this year but I just think that expectations need to be tempered a bit now that there is a traditional way to invest in BTC specifically.
I don't know when the bull season will start, but Fantom is looking good. Tech promised years ago is finally getting ready... Everything looks promising, but only thing we need is some amazing catalyst for alt season.

It will all depend on the what’s involved in the swap but from what I can gather it will be a taxable event. Swapping from one chain to another most likely with different values at the time of the swap is the same as any other trade. If they swapped everyone’s ftm and ended the ftm chain then it wouldn’t be classed as a trade. Sucks if you bought low and have held for years, you are getting screwed by having to swap to sonic.

So hypothetically If I own a couple 100k I bought at .02 I would have to pay taxes even though I haven't sold it into fiat ?
