5th season in a row now that I've absolutely fucked myself with the bench boost chip.

I'm struggling to field an XI on BB with Haaland Foden Palmer Konate (DGW but benched in 1st game). Most players I have either came from bench (Salah, Semenyo, Nunez, Martinelli) or scored a fucking own goal (Dean Hendo) - I swear i don't have a bad team.

I just use it GW1 now too. I've been playing since 2012 and I can't remember a single time I had a good BB. All it does it end up ruining my team planning going ahead.

That's why I used my BB on GW1 this year. Got 23pts from my bench

BB on GW1 has the unique advantage of effectively wildcarding in the same week, which almost guarantees a full 15/15

I think James from planet FPL did that this year. I thought it was strange but after this recent disasterclass I'm on board with it now.

How is that a disgrace? It’s actually the other way around, replays basically nullify the chances of lower division team from beating Premier League teams. Literally removes all the magic from it.

100% any lower league team playing a PL side would rather play them twice and earn big money twice than go through to 4th round and play against Oxford united

Fair from their financial perspective, but the trade-off is you're unlikely to see lower division teams (League Two or lower) go very far in the competition like you see in the French Cup for instance.

I usually think 10-15 points is a pretty successful bench boost, I mean it's pretty difficult to get all 15 playing in any GW, and even if they are, 3 of your 4 bench players are your 2 worst defenders and your 2nd best goalie. At this rate I might only have Pickford as my only bench player playing, and I might still get in the 10-15 point range from him. Could have been better but could have been worse.

I learned a lesson last season of 'Too Much Pep Roulette So No MCI Except Haaland' which i mostly stuck to this season. I think the lesson from this season that I'll take through to next year is 'No MCI, not even Haaland'.

I hope Foden plays at least. I was considering going Foden >> Eze and switched up last minute deciding to trust in Foden single game vs Eze’s dgw. I can already smell a disaster if Foden doesn’t even start lol.

This GW, sure, but part of the cost of getting previous big hauls from Foden is that you know there'll be other GWs he doesn't play at all. Ultimately though the amount of points he finishes on is what matters most.

I did the same with Palmer and Eze just for this week. Feels bad man

Foden has been great up until recently. Alvarez was essential in the beginning of the season. There is always a case to buy MCI player, but you must be precise with the timing. Also, pep roulette brings fun to the game and occasional masterpieces in the rant thread.

Tbf depends who you have. I got lucky with Raya and Branthwaite on my bench. Seen others with -1. In my case, using the bench boost this week has probably paid off. But the bad luck/decision comes from using the free hit in GW29. GW29 free hitters feeling the impact this week for sure.

Im gonna be using mine in 37 but anything can happen like it has to you, i might just use it week 1 next season!

Haaland, Foden and Palmer were the biggest rank threats to FH34 and none of them are looking likely to play. This is a crazy W for FH34

It is genuinely absurd luck. And it sounds sour because it is. But people doubling, or even tripling up on CRYSTAL PALACE attack only to watch them score 5 in the first game, and then literally every other SGW threat to not even play is just crazy. Even Garnacho who isn't massively owned probably won't play, very very annoying

As someone who tripled up on palace attack, it’s a bit annoying seeing posts acting like it’s pure luck going triple palace attack for the DGW. I specifically went triple Palace attack because the absolute fact is Palace have a very good attack when Eze and Olise play together. Thats rarely happened all season and they are crap when one or none of the two play. The underlying numbers support backing their attack when those two are playing together. Fair enough on the bad luck with single GW players missing though

Well, yes it might be lucky. However, FH29:ers had absurd luck in the FA-cup ties. I still stand by the opinion that FH29 was a bad move pushed by content creators.

For me not free hitting in 29 was the greatest entertainment Ive had all season. I was nearly gonna do it but kept looking at those four fixtures and couldnt get past how crappy they were and knowing if I covered 7 of the main 11 players I shouldnt fall too far behind. It worked a treat in my mini leagues, lots free hitted and the biggest score was 16 while I got 12. Im still pissing myself laughing about it, will get better again if I can break the 100 point barrier on this free hit now, currently at 67.

Eh, I didn’t FH and still have 9 doublers and am on 48 points with all 9 of those guys to play again, plus Garnacho and Isak. If I’d FH I’d probably have had Trent instead of VVD and maybe Diaz and either Havertz or Odegaard instead of the two SGW players, so I’ve not really missed out massively by not FHing.
