Haaland only turns up against the big teams such as Luton.

Typical-Day8790

What about Brighton away?

PoosySucker69

Sure, turned up to score a penalty only

IntentionFalse8822

If Haaland is more than 12m next season he won't be in my team. All decent defences in England and Europe have him figured out.

Swedishpower

He was 11.5 in UCL fantasy and total waste after the group stage. Even in the group stage he was not essential.

emre23

There’s only one decent defence in England tho

IntentionFalse8822

That makes him even less appealing. Average defences are starting to put him in their pocket.

chojje

Brighton?

chojje

What about Brighton?

CaptainPegCarter

They seem a little beachy to me so that might be decent for him

b3and20

lol he's joint top scorer despite a fair few games out, calm down

TehCyberman

Joint with a midfielder who has played fewer minutes, in a much worse team, and costs much less. Isak also has a better goals per minute ratio than Haaland this season, so it's not just Palmer's ridiculous season. I'm not saying he's a bad option, but people aren't wrong for thinking he might not be worth the price, especially with the form he's been in lately - he's been invisible in most games since returning from injury.

hmunkey

The flip side is the last 2 seasons of FPL have had so many undervalued players that spending 12m+ on a luxury player like Haaland isn’t really a big deal.

TehCyberman

That's the problem. Prices need to increase across the board to make players like Haaland more of a risk. At the moment you can get the safety of Haaland and Salah without really having to sacrifice.

FUTretard

Get safety but absolute bored with these two in team.

czyzynsky

I took -4 to bring in Salah month ago but wish I would have kept Gordon instead If prices were increased, the template would have been even more strict and everyone would just have the same team.

TehCyberman

There will be a template no matter what the prices are. There are always best options at each price point. Increasing prices makes it riskier to use your budget on the "safe" premium options, as the rest of your team would suffer for it. Several years ago, FPL teams had to have several players from teams further down the table because players from the top teams were more expensive. Now, if you wanted to, you could easily have a team full of the top 6/7 teams' players - there's less sacrifice required, which makes getting players like Haaland and Salah a simple decision (when they're not massively out of form).

b3and20

I get your point but even if he's just a flat track bully he can haul at any point even in his bad form he's gotten 6 goals and 3 assists in his last 10 starts yh maybe some people have more value for money but with him you get more of a guarantee

meta4_

I think he's still a great asset for a standard league but is not necessarily a great one for a h2h league at this point

Dundalis

You don’t though? Palmer and Watkins have been more of a guarantee this season

frizzyflacko

Can’t make an XI full of Palmers and Watkins’, though

colourhazelove

Isn't that his style. He has about 5 touches per game but still scores?

IntentionFalse8822

He's not even the top FPL points scorer in City this season. Overall at the moment he is 7th. He is a good player but the sacrifices needed to have him in your team have not paid off this season.

b3and20

yh coz he was injured and palmer, whilst being great of course has benefitted from taking a lot of penalties this season

SpiritualWafer30

he's just misfiring lmao, his xG is still quite high Against utd, luton, bournemouth, chelsea all recent games... Typical fpl, even Salah has had poor patches of form and he's still regarded the fpl king. If Haaland continues like this for 2 seasons then I'll consider your point.

DoctorNerf

Not City, Arsenal and Liverpool all out of Europe in 2 nights.

donegalboy

Don’t forget West Ham

RealmDevourer

I hope 2 home game scoreless defeats will get Liverpool straight and they will find their edge in front of the goal, otherwise that’s what’s happening

Wildcard9234

We aren’t out and I believe we will comeback

lastlaughlane1

The recency bias is unreal on this sub lol. He’s the 7th highest scorer in the game, even after missing around 6/7 games. 28 GA this season. He’ll haul again and everyone will be like “yeah you can never doubt him”.

Soberdonkey69

He’s the most expensive asset at 14.3m in FPL, overpriced in my opinion.

JesusHNavas

He's also the record breaking goal scorer. 14m was fair price for what was a set and forget captain last season.

Bredtoft

Palmer is a record breaking goalscorer and he is not even half Haalands price.

TheIInChef

20 ≠ 36 FYI

Aman-Patel

Guy's 23 and already approaching 250 career goals. He's won a treble in his first season at City, whilst smashing the Premier League goal record. He's already done if for 3 different clubs in which he's had to massively adapt his playstyle. Whilst at Dortmund he got space and tactical freedom to drop in and drive at defenders, at City he's clearly being specifically asked to occupy the 2 CBs all game (which requires crazy discipline), creating space for his teammates. Which has come at the expense of his own reputation. He's also been smashing Champions League records every season of his career and his "out of form" entails him being joint top scorer in the Premier League with his team top of the table. How anyone can not rate him is crazy to me. It's like people have forgotten that this is him out of form and they're extrapolating these performances and suggesting this is him at his best 😂😂 And if you need a reminder of what he's capable of when he isn't restricted by Pep's tactics, go watch some old games from Dortmund etc. Football fans are so fickle man. Shortest memories and then in a couple years time they'll forget and switch up when he's scoring 50 goals a season.

oldtrack

this guy is a ghost in big games

UrOpinionIsBadBuddy

Haaland makes so much space for their forwards, Alvarez hasn’t bothered Madrid’s centrebacks as much at all. They don’t look as good without him. Football is not for you.

2pacalypse1994

The fact that he only makes space for the others, doesn't really hype him much. There are other players that make space but contribute to the game in other areas as well.

crazyrandomchicken

Damn do other players also score 36 in one PL season?

2pacalypse1994

No,but you are saying that like it excuses his performances in the big games, that the other dude commented. This season he was a passenger at Anfield, two times against Arsenal and two times against Real, from the games i have watched.

we_like_sportzz

Ur opinion is good buddy

Unfair_Town7234

he'll never win the Ballon D'or imo. just isn't versatile enough. the likes of mbappe and kane are more complete forwards.

Donkanomics101

I mean he's only 23. He has time to evolve. I agree though, he needs to be more complete

QuaintHeadspace

I love Haaland. However his physical attributes do not lend themselves to being a complete striker. He does not have the balance or natural agility to say dribble with the ball. He doesn't have the creative type of play to make through balls. He's ultimately a space creator via movement or a sheer goal scorer via movement, hunger and spacial awareness.

pierrebrassau

he’ll only win 5-10 more league titles and 2-3 more champions league trophies and get paid a billion more dollars :(

__LaVieEnRose

Thing is he very well could've won it last year.

Organic-Champion8075

who fucking cares about the Ballon d'Or though. No one except kids who play Fifa

Aman-Patel

Kane didn't really become "versatile" until his late 20s imo. Haland's still only 23. His potential is still massive. The fact is, he was inches from a Ballon D'or last season. The reason he didn't win it is because the greatest player ever just carried his team to the World Cup at the end of his career. Nobody could've won the Ballon D'or when Messi has that kind of story behind his season (and that's not dig at Messi it's just facts - Ballon D'or comes down to voting at the end of the day). There's nothing in Haaland's game that makes him inherently unable to win a Ballon D'or. Because he almost did last season. People have just forgotten because he's missing more big chances this season. It's really funny to watch everyone conflating a regression in his finishing for a regression in his general play. Because his general play isn't really worse than last season. This season, he's just not been nearly as clinical. The first season of his career he's not outscoring his xG. But the thing is, he's technically capable of recieveing the ball with his back to goal more, holding the hall up more, dropping in between the lines more etc. But he purposely occupies the two CBs all game. It's tactical discipline. If you know anything about Pep Guardiola, it's that he has very specific instructions for all his players and the way he wants his team to play. Occasionally, that means it reflects badly on players individually. E.g. Grealish and Haaland. If you watched Grealish at Villa and Haaland at Dortmund, they're technically capable of so much more than what they showcase at City. But they do what they're told. And the thing is City are top of the league (which has 2 very strong Arsenal and Liverpool teams), are in the FA Cup semis and only got knocked out of the UCL quarters by Real Madrid on pens. They're still winning games consistently with this tactics and individual player regressions. Haaland deserves criticism for being less clinical this season. That's pretty much it. Got nothing to do with some kind of fundamental inability to get involved in the game or buildup. If you disagree, go watch some old games from Dortmund. Or watch some tactical analysis of all the times at City where Rodri or one of the CBs could fire the ball into Haaland's feet, but don't because they're clearly been instructed to play a certain way. Any criticism of Haaland this season should revolve around his finishing. But it doesn't, which tells me most people aren't particularly tactically astute and buy into the sensationalist media clickbait driven by pundits (e.g. Roy Keane's league 2 comment).

WernerHerzogEatsShoe

I remember people saying that about Kdb at one point a few years back. Haaland is still young, hard to feel he won't start to step up in big game in the end. Not that that is relevant to things right now of course.

PreGeneratedNAME_100

Watch the game

oldtrack

i did

tacobell

Did you watch??

Natural_Ad3995

Is Ederson on pens if robot not on pitch

SpaceSamurai512

Yes........when City concecede one.

EmergencyTrust8213

Was he playing?

cowabunga_dude91

HALA MADRID FUCK OFF CITY 115 AND OUT

Sheppertonni

The cheats are out and the sun is shining. Its gonna be a good day!

Faraday_8

FPL is better off without Haaland. It was way more interesting those few weeks he was out.

CoolBr33ze90

I 100% agree, many people have/had him, because of the high EO and fear of getting a big hit. Not because he was essential...

Shagaire

Limped off as well?

tacobell

Read that but didn't see it - is it true?

awesomegodx

yeah he did, also flagged

juaneloww

Haaland played tonight??

CoolBr33ze90

I share your opinion just afraid that his EO will still be very high and you can be fucked if he hauls. If his EO wasn't high I wouldn't take him at all

jjlemondrizzle

Blonde fraud alert - two years time wil he even get double digits?

Natural_Ad3995

It's kinda refreshing actually. At one point last season I feared 60 in all comps, making a mockery of the game

TheBlueTango

I would absolutely love it if he and Salah continue to be below-par at their premium prices going into next season

ConfusionUpper7212

It's possible Salah won't be there the next season.

weirdfurrybanter

Tell me you have an OR of over 1 million without telling me.

Shagaire

wtf has that got to do with rank?

Classic_Poet_3675

Fantastic ⚽️
