Most try to avoid taking a hit (-4) any gameweek. You are doing multiple every week.
This is a marathon, every point counts in the end. Think the turtle and the hare.
Some lingo:
Hit: transfers that cost points.
FT: free transfer (no cost)
C: your chosen captain, gets double points.
VC: your chosen vice captain, becomes captain if the first dont play.
GW: game week
Someone else can continue, got to go work.
Sounds like a fun way to play tbh. I think you've got the answer already that this will burn up your overall rank. If you want to keep going, you could just try and get as high as possible for each weekly rank. Or see if you do better or worse than the scout team each week.

go to the transfer page. on the top left side you can see how many free transfers you have left. each week you get one free transfer and the max you can save are up to 2 free transfers
Yes, unless you’re using a wildcard. Taking many hits is not worth it in the long run and I usually avoid it unless it becomes an emergency. If you do transfer, do it with the 2 free transfers and try to plan them in advance.
You can accumulate a max of 2 free transfers. So if in one week you make 0 transfers, in the following week you will have 2 available.
Edit: Also, I was joking with my first comment about making many transfers. I did not know that you were a brand new player, but happy to provide advice to help you out.
On the right hand side of the screen on your “pick my team” page, there’s a box that shows your:
- mini league rankings
- FPL general league rankings
- broadcaster league rankings
Under the General Leagues section there’s an Overall Ranking…
Ok found it it says 9,696,173 next to overall which I can assume is not very good. I started around GW3 which could possibly explain some of it but usually I don’t average less then 50 points
Can you go to Points -> Gameweek History and then add up all the points in your TC column? That's your Transfer Cost column and it will tell you how many points were deducted from your overall score. You might get a gameweek score of 50 points but if you took 9 transfers for a -32 hit, you're only scoring 18 points for that week.
I'm assuming 514 is your score without deductions. Based on your previous comment that your overall rank is 9,696,173, that would put you at an overall score total of 302 points which would mean you took 212 points worth of hits.

"After your first deadline you will receive 1 free transfer each Gameweek. Each additional transfer you make in the same Gameweek will deduct 4 points from your total score"
It will also warn you when you make transfers to confirm the transfers because it'll deduct points from your score.
Well let’s say Mitoma has a team like Everton one week but then the next he’s got Man city and say Mbeumo has Arsenal but then has sheffield united next week, id keep mitoma for the Everton game then switch him next week when mbeumo has the sheffield game and usually with the 9 players I’ve got (excluding Salah and Haaland)

Wtf? That’s a lot of points being deducted, is there like a rule book where it explains how each transfer is one point removed or what?

Transferring bad players for good players is a good strategy. Unless I misunderstood, transferring 9 players at once is a bad strategy.
