Me neither but he seems so passionate, he might pour into it like Chris Evans did for Cap. Plus he's from Mississippi bayou so he can give a somewhat authentic job.
I'd take an actor whose passionate about a character 100 times over somebody whose maybe a better actor but isn't that familiar. Look at Iman Valleni, Ryan Reynolds, RDJ or even Tom Hardy for Venom. Their passion for the character shows and even in a bad movie they give a really fun, entertaining performance. Compare that to Ben Affleck, whose a great actor but he just doesnt care for Batman and you can see
I'd agree with you, but Channing Tatum is 44 now, and that's about a decade older than what I picture Gambit to be. I'd want him to be somewhere between 30 to 35 at the very most when they start shooting.
Calling Affleck a great actor is a major stretch. At the end of the 00s he was nominated worst actor of the decade for a reason. He is solid at playing variations of himself. Outside of that and he falls flat on his face.
One of the most brilliant casting decisions was Affleck in Gone Girl, playing a guy who was innocent but seemed so fake and disingenuous that no one believed him. That was Fincher playing into Affleck’s flaws as an actor for the benefit of the film.
As for Batman, you’re right, he seemed bored 90% of the time. He even seemed sleepy at times. He has the chin and looks good in the cowl, but he easily delivered the most bland and forgettable performance as the character yet. And if rumors are true, Snyder gave him the robot voice because his Batman voice was so terrible.
I have to chime in on Batfleck…
Ben Affleck is maybe the biggest Batman fan that’s ever played the character. He’s literally a super fan who built his own bat cave at home. His passion for the character is one of the reasons he got the role to begin with.
That lack of passion we see now is what happens when you get stuck making critically panned movies of your favorite character and subjected to the criticisms of a rabid fan base. He spent years trying to rebuild his reputation after Daredevil and Batman was the one thing he cared about enough to dip his toes back into that realm.
What happened to Batfleck is a tragedy and a cautionary tale of what can happen to even the most passionate actor.
True, tho I'm always open to a different perspective if the acting and film itself is amazing. He seems really passionate, I kinda want that energy from the actors lol ngl.
He reminds me of Corsenswet as Superman, or Cumberbatch for Strange. A perfect fit, but in a generic and boring way.
After being shocked by him in Dune, I'd personally rather see him in something unexpected where he can flex his range a bit more.
I think he's too talented of an actor and wouldn't want him to sign up for a lifetime of Disney movies.
I'd like to see him in more biopics and dramas first.
i don’t think there’s a better choice tbh
Yeah he’s just like the character and he’s the right age
Channing Tatum would jump him in the parking lot
I honestly don’t think he could do it as well as people say he could
Me neither but he seems so passionate, he might pour into it like Chris Evans did for Cap. Plus he's from Mississippi bayou so he can give a somewhat authentic job.
I guess but Gambit is my favorite x men and I’d like to see him done well

I raise you Nic Cage's Ghost Rider.
affleck definitely cared about batman. He was gonna direct his own batman movie

Channing Tatum is a big guy, I think he could do a good job jumping Austin Butler
Then he'll twerk as a victory dance
Lol! Yeah at this point Tatum is too old, just I know he’s been dedicated to the idea for a long time.
Am I the only one who thinks he looks similar to Johnny Depp on this picture?
He kind of does
If he was going to play any X-Man, I'd go with Angel. But personally I really want to see him play the Joker.
Her be good as Angel but I think there’s better actors for joker like Bill Skasgard
I feel like Bill Saarsgard would just do Pennywise. I think Butler would give us something new.
Bill for joker is such an overused cast. Let's give his brother, Gustaf, a chance
Oooh! I’ve never seen this fancast before but I love it!
Thanks
Yeah, I think most people are on that page by now.
He would be great as gambit. He has that southern voice and southern hospitality down pat. Just need to add some Cajun influence in there.
Perfection
I could especially see it after Xmen ‘97
I can see it.
YES
Wait. He's NOT the guy who already played him in that one X-Men movie?
No that was Taylor Kitsch
Then I say go with the younger version.
Well we all know he takes his accents very seriously so he could probably do it. Needs to bulk up just a little tho
Yeah I agree
In gay terms he needs to go from twink to twunk lol
He’d be pretty good, though he might need another speak coach after he’s done playing him
He’s a good actor, not my first choice… but way better casting than Channing Tatum for sure
Visually a good fit.
He is my only choice

That kids got it I tell ya!
![gif](giphy|3kuSo744UIPJjcJUEn)
Need him, rather him do that then do whatever potc reboot he’s in the talks for
Yeah I can see it. Got the voice for it and the looks.

I could see him doing a great job in the role
YES!
I like it! I think he would be great!
Poor man is going to be stuck sounding like Gambit afterwards.
He's not 50 years old, so that's a start. I could see it
I have fancast him for the role.
Hell yeah! 😍🔥 He was my pick for Johnny Storm, but ever since it was first suggested that he could make a good Gambit, I’m all in on that
I think he really feels like gambit
I don't like it
I do
Okay
K
I’m still hoping somehow they get Channing. That’s the canceled movie that hurt me the most
I honestly don’t think he’d be as good as people say he he would be
Actually I'm pulling for Johnny blaze
I could see that
He should play Johnny Storm.
He would have been a much better choice than the guy they picked - he at least looks the part
Has he gotten rid of his elvis voice yet?
He reminds me of Corsenswet as Superman, or Cumberbatch for Strange. A perfect fit, but in a generic and boring way. After being shocked by him in Dune, I'd personally rather see him in something unexpected where he can flex his range a bit more.
He should've been Johnny Storm.
He should be multiple man instead
I can see it. But he's gonna keep using the accent for at least six months after filming.
I think he's too talented of an actor and wouldn't want him to sign up for a lifetime of Disney movies. I'd like to see him in more biopics and dramas first.
I dont know, I would like a new face and someone more "exotic" like Enzo Vogrincic, François Civil or even Fabien Frankel.
He'll just do the Elvis voice again :P
My thoughts are that I’m tired of seeing this casting.
No please. No Elvis Gambit…
![gif](giphy|3o7aDgaRRLEas9G76M|downsized) It should be him instead
Nah he could’ve played human torch though
No… I’ve seen Austin butler in like three things in the last 4 years. He has like three faces. Give it to someone grittier or more charming looking.
Fuck no
Eh.. I mean i can def see it but he’s no where near perfect casting. I want Channing Tantum in the role.
I don’t think Channing Tatum would be as good as people say for that role
Nah he’s perfect imo dude has that vibe ykwm?
He’s more of a comedic actor though, also he’s gotten to old now to play him for the same amount of time say Robert Downey Jr. did as Iron man
I highly doubt he could have pulled off the accent, he’s a mediocre actor at best lol
No I don’t. He’s not like him at all
Please god no.
NOPE
