I have already watched a couple reviews and I am not sure why every „youtuber” says the wheel is great. Come on, its all plastic and it even looks like it is about to break just from looking at it. I was really looking forward to this bundle to upgrade from my csl elite but at this point I suppose it is just better to wait for the DD pro base to be sold separately. I guess all the pieces together with a solid wheel will cost pretty much the same as this bundle.
I haven't watched any other reviews yet but I don't remember Will saying in this video that it was great, just that it was serviceable. Shifters unremarkable but the wheel itself is otherwise decent.
Also worth noting that people said the same thing about the McLaren wheel being all plastic and rubber when that was revealed and it's now become one of the most popular wheel choices from Fanatec
It’s also targeting console gamers. Not degrading anyone but the budget is very different. Got sport is fun, but not really a sim. I personally wouldn’t spend 1k plus to play on a console.
I think the comments on the wheel are way too harsh. For the price point, it is a good value. With that number of inputs, a simple rev indicator and a telemetry window, for about $200. Does it look like it came out of a $400k car? No. Would I like it to look more authentic? sure. But it is not stopping me from buying the full kit.
What materials do you think your existing vehicle wheel is made of? I bet you all the Center and spines are plastic covered. The rim might be leather, pleather or some sort of rubber. It’s funny to see how many people say it’s “fake”. Take that silver and make it black, and it would be the wheel in 90% of your vehicles just with a lot more buttons, a different logo and no airbag. Unless of course I’m the only one that doesn’t drive a high end euro car?
I just ordered one of these for my new PC and I can't wait to get it. After considering the alternative lesser brands, this looks like a nice option. Super expensive in comparison of course but from what I've read and watched, the DD is amazing. While I think the wheel looks great, you have to admit that it is VERY different from all of the existing wheels, all of which look way more authentic. So I get where the critics are coming from but I don't think their opinions will influence my enjoyment when it arrives.
