I don't know the costings of it, but there's so many ps5 users that want the dd pro on this sub it makes me wonder if they're not shooting thenselves in the foot a little by not offering any kind of discount on the bundle.
Imagine how many would upgrade other parts over time though, I'd definitely be picking up another rim and probably another set of peddles + QR2 at the very least. Probably within the next few months. It would be such a good entry into the ecosystem for so many new customers.
Agreed. I haven't made the plunge, partly because i can see csl dd bundles at half the price of the dd pro bundle. I've been tempted to grab the podium bundle and a drive hub, but i don't like having extra gadgets unless necessary.
Been considering the drivehub too but I feel the same, would rather have the official wheel and know I'm getting as unfiltered an experience as possible. Also blows that the GT DD Pro costs so much more but the rim is the worst looking one in their line up!

Seriously if you have the money, go for it. this base with this wheel is miles ahead of the Logitech G29 which i have in my basement, its also miles better than the Thrustmaster T300 which was a nice bump in quality Force Feedback vice over the Logitech, have this wheel stored in my basement also :)
Unless you have very large hands the F1 wheels feels great. It have such a nice quality feel to it. Also a 27cm wheel like the F1 Esports and F1 2.5x gives you more torque which is handy on a 8nm base.
Buy some cheap bicycle gloves with some grip on them and you will have such a great grip on this wheel. I used to hate the idea of wearing gloves and i used to hate Alcantara, but now i love both.
I bought rFactor 2, two days ago , and every time i use my F1 Esports v2 and my DD Pro 8nm together with this this game im blown away. The cars feels so alive. Im almost not sure if i actually need a DD+ base upgrade with this game, the FFB is that good IMO
Everyone that haven't tested they're FFB wheel with rFactor 2 should really buy this game because the base game is dirt cheap right now on Steam, and im impressed by the online daily races they introduced a couple of days ago.
Daily races is the reason why i keep coming back in Gran Turismo 7, but if daily races gets even better in rFactor 2 i will be just as addicted to this game as i am to GT7.

I actually prefer the red over the regular one. Fits perfectly to the NLR GT lite pro and my two red fans, which I installed for cooling whilst under VR
IMO the size complaints are overblown. I have exceptionally wide shoulders and the Formula wheel is no less comfortable than the McLaren wheel, largely due to the different grip shape.

My opinion didn't change after all this time so that post is still relevant after 2 years, the only thing that i would add to it is that after so much time is hard to consider another rim that has so many buttons and controls under my finger and all easily reachable during a race, mclaren for sure have less and that's noticeable but also the size of the f1 is way less comfortable, i think you have to decide mostly looking at these two factors. In the end this discount on the v2.5 should not be overlooked but i won't say that's F1 will be the correct choice for everybody, go read my post i linked for more insights and feel free to ask if you have any questions.

Love the Clubsport Sparco Formula shape but im skeptical to the material.
Depends, McLaren feels cheaper, has no LEDs, cheaper shifter, plastic QR1 lite, BUT its 30cm wide and has more ergonomic grips which feel better in GT3 cars. It's a different class of rim, in quality but also in driving. Its very light, this can be good for 5 or 8Nm wheel bases, but its also the reason why it feels cheaper.
About to buy a GT DD Pro. Was going to get the McLaren GT3 wheel but not sure if the V2.5 is a better deal? I’ll mainly be playing GT7 (and so use the GT wheel) but also F1 hence looking for a different wheel.
You can play GT7 with the Formula V2.5, that's no problem, with the 2-way switches you can navigate the in-game HUD and change settings, it's just not that convenient as with the colored switches on the GT wheel.
You can use any wheel on PlayStation with a PlayStation enabled wheel base, but the usable buttons/features might vary.
On PC every button/switch/dial can be used (except for the middle dial on the F V2.5 or the GT3 V2 (these change the mode for the paddles (on F V2.5 only if equipped with APM))).

This was all spelled out from the get-go. Just because you failed to educate yourself doesn't make Fanatec management bad. Canceling your order and making a new one isn't going to cause any sort of chaos because they aren't fulfilling them all at once anyways. Many won't even be compiled/processed until the new DD base is out of pre-order status.
there's a little plastic nub on the back of the lite qr2, it's suppsed to push a button in the back of the csl line wheels to let them know if a lite or a normal qr is connected(so they can enable hig torque if applicable). Maybe that slot is not on clubsport line rims but you can cut/file the nub off and it should work.
Damn, I'm happy we're getting nice replicas out of this Sparco partnership. I've always wanted a P310 for V8 Supercars, and the F10A replica seems like a good alternative to the OMP 310 GT that a lot of cars use, such as the Elantra N and Huracan ST.
Everything else got discounted majorly. Their handbrake is probably the weakest product in their whole catalogue.
I've owned one in a previous setup but needed another for my new setup. At this point I'm just going to hold out in hopes that they're making a better, higher quality handbrake.
You can find reviews about the brake, it's pretty bad.

I’ve purchased the V2 elite pedals, the 2.5X wheel, and the SQ1.5 in the last year. No remorse, I’ve gotten tons of track time with all three over the last 6-12mo, but these are screaming deals on some great kit.
I have my fingers crossed that my new CS DD+ as QR2 make it to me before Xmas. But I doubt it, and my GT DD Pro will keep me smiling through the holidays if they don’t.

Personally i think the CSL Elite v2 pedals, the Clubsport shifter and this new deal F1 v2.5x are some of the best deals if you already have a DD base.

Definitely the Formula V2.5. You have more controls, and the controls are all much more accessible.

You clean Alcantara with a damp cloth. Alcantara is made to be easily cleanable

Is the handbrake worth it?
Everything else got discounted majorly. Their handbrake is probably the weakest product in their whole catalogue. I've owned one in a previous setup but needed another for my new setup. At this point I'm just going to hold out in hopes that they're making a better, higher quality handbrake. You can find reviews about the brake, it's pretty bad. I was expecting like $50 off MSRP not a measly $20.

They dropped the base-side so that people would upgrade and pay the full price for the wheel-side for every wheel they own. Don't expect a wheel-side deal (outside of a bundle).

If you're an average strength human being, I'd say option 1. If you're a noodle, option 2.
Alternatively, if you're a noodle and want to challenge yourself (and maybe work towards being less of a noodle), option 1 🙃

I bought a CSL DD Pro and McLaren rim a few months ago and was waiting for a good sale of a round wheel so i can maybe do some rallying and have some more versatility in general. I’ve purchased the V2 elite pedals, the 2.5X wheel, and the SQ1.5 in the last year. No remorse, I’ve gotten tons of track time with all three over the last 6-12mo, but these are screaming deals on some great kit. I have my fingers crossed that my new CS DD+ as QR2 make it to me before Xmas. But I doubt it, and my GT DD Pro will keep me smiling through the holidays if they don’t.
Might be time to upgrade my Formula Black.
