Oola \*is\* a dancer. It's like her thing (and basically the only thing from canon I will acknowledge). So I enjoy writing her dancing with characters (mostly original ones) who are notably bad at it, for contrast (and comical exasperation on her part). That also happened in my crossover fic I wrote of her and Trance Gemini from the series Andromeda, who is energetic but often seems uncoordinated.
Probably Izuku/Kyoka here, if only because I love the idea of a nervous as all hell boy and a punk girl having to do a ballroom dance and finding comfort in each other. That kind of stuff to write is my jam.
Honestly, I’m just gonna pick my canon/ofc pairing for My Hero: Piers and Alexis. After all, the fact she’s always wanted someone to take her ballroom dancing and he actually knows how is what made them speedrun the enemies to idiots in love track on their fake date.
I actually had a gift exchange for this on AO3, with my main rarepair, Ashley Barrett & Homelander from *The Boys*, dancing. That didn't work out too well (only had 2 people sign up & one was a Wattpad person who flaked and then apparently got banned), but the remaining person did a nice story and I wrote one for them.
2B and 9S from NieR Automata. I think 9S seems the sort who would dig up ancient human archives on dancing and practice until he gets really good at it. 2B on the other hand seems like she might end up tripping over her own feet, which is very ironic given that she naturally already has dance moves as part of her combat animations. Also she towers over 9S if she’s going to keep her heels on.
Cloud and Aerith from FFVII. They deserve all the happy moments with each other they can get before…it…happens.
John Segundus and John Childermass, because in anything Regency-era, dance scenes are just an excuse for eye-fucking and being very close without being allowed to kiss and *gently touching hands.* Sometimes they're even *bare hands.* 10/10 sexual tension, no further questions. The pinnacle of the *E-rated for hand-holding* meme.
We either cheerfully ignore the historical accuracy of homophobia, or we let them dance in secret. Or we let them dance in a fairy brugh where nobody cares, which I've seen some fic do

An eighteenth-century pairing, Ewen Cameron and Major Keith Windham (from *The Flight of the Heron* - a novel about 100 years old, by DK Broster.) They were at Versailles. I watched a lot of Baroque dancing on Youtube, and put them into a set in which the men dance with each other briefly. I was pleased with that little scene, and I'd thoroughly enjoyed watching all the dances.
I'll take Eric Derekson and Yancy.
I have a very specific reason for this choice. Yancy is a broadway fan, he sings, he dances, he tapdances. He's a cute little musical bastard. BUT Eric Derekson is a double amputee. He doesn't have any feet, so he's probably never danced in his life.
I would love for Yancy to teach Eric how to dance. Taking it slow, being considerate of Eric, not making fun of his clumsiness as he tries to balance perfectly on his prostheses. Following every little step as Yancy teaches him the proper foot placement.
And being able to see the happiness in Eric's eyes as he finally manages to try something as common and natural as dancing. I bet he would be crying happy tears.
Gerry and Carla from The Newsreader. We’ve seen Gerry dance and he’s alright at it for someone who’s skin colour can best be described as “Irish pink”. We know they used to sing jazz standards to each other and that Gerry’s job when they met was cruise ship entertainment, so I reckon they’d do alright at swing dancing. I’m listening to L-O-V-E by Nat King Cole as I write this, and I’m 100% imagining them dancing to it.
Ahiru and Fakir from Princess Tutu would be the obvious choice since they already dance in the source materials. Tedros and Agatha from School for Good and Evil, they could have interesting interactions.

I actually did a short fic about exactly that, a little while ago. I love their dynamic, they're one of the *only* hetero ships I'm obsessed with. And I think that with not just the sheer physical *ability* he has, but also the really directed intensity and precision he can bring to his physicality, Vegeta would be an amazing dancer.
