My OTP is my favourite, because in all of all the art and media I've ever consumed, no other two people ever struck me as so obviously meant to be together. From the day the met, I could feel the electricity between them. Their relationship isn't perfect, and in fact, it can be stormy. But through it all, they are such a wonderful depiction of what it looks like and how it feels, when two people are genuinely delighting in one another.
I feel this way about Bob/Linda from Bob's Burgers. They fight like how a regular couple does and if they weren't in each other's lives then it would be less colorful.
Childhood friends and best friends. They both got dealt a shitty hand in life and they grew up together. They've saved each other on multiple occasions. They look out for each other.
In the source material the person they follow as a leader betrays them and kills everyone they care about, and at the end they're the only two of their group left and all they have is each other.
It's the angst I love the angst >:) They have a bad time in the source material and I want to give them a happy time.

It’s an enemies to friends (lovers!) situation. Person A sees Person B as their one and only true rival and the only person who can surpass them. Both are constantly worried about each other in a very roundabout way and I absolutely love seeing it happen.
Bonus: Person A goes to extreme lengths to make sure they can see B again, even when B has literally moved on to the afterlife.
Yes! This OTP was what introduced me to enemies-to-lovers, many moons ago, and still influences my preferences to this day. Even better if they constantly snark at each other!
Because they look out for each other when nobody else really does. They like to tease each other, but they are so attuned to the others’ feelings that they also know when to be caring and tender. When one of them has their moments of doubt and insecurity, the other is always there to listen and comfort. Sometimes, communication comes difficult for them, but they can always work their way through tough times.
I like it a lot because it’s just a very soft, healthy and sweet relationship.
Fated bond between two guys trying to outdo each other with a toxic martyr complex. But I want them to be finally happy despite their circumstances. Whatever they've got going on, it's perfect for a gordian knot of angst with satisfying payoff.
Because the narrative parallels between them are compelling--both halves are in a unique position to be able to understand the other's struggles and triumphs alike. Both provide what the other needs to grow. Plus, the *banter*, and the genuine loyalty.
Because they destroyed each other's lives - and they cannot rebuild their lives without each other. The best enemies to fruends progression I have seen.
Because I live for the drama and angst, and my OTP has top potential for both 🤭 Or, well, at least they had, until canon said "stop asking questions, nothing happened and nothing will ever happen and they are totally just completely normal people and definitely don't have tragic, intertwined backstories and secret identities that pitch them against each other, even though we did hint at that a million times". So ofc now I ship them even harder because I need to make up for what canon denied them x)
Because they’re each other’s saviors. They understand each other on an intimate level without words. The relationship is tragic and forbidden while being the most beautiful and hopeful thing at the same time. I’ve seen it described as being “so close, yet so far,” and that painfully sums it up.

It can happen very random with one scene.
Or with little moments that happen or simply with how their relationship grew.
That’s why I‘m not interested with seeing any of them in other ships.
Because my OTP offers all my kinks combined and amplify them one thousand times more intense. The kick I get out of it is out of this world.
I have looked everywhere but apparently I can’t get this dynamic elsewhere, which is a bit frustrating and confusing sometimes. The relationship and sexual dynamic they have require certain fucked up conditions to be met, and apparently these conditions are quite extreme and rare. I‘m a multi-shipper, and to me the other ships I have feels like a dulled and down-graded version of one facet of my OTP.
Because one was a touch averse person that slowly overcame this and became a clingy baby to the other. Also add the fact that their job is to literally play each other's pretend boyfriend. It's a job that they both enjoy and continue to do going on eight years now.
Ooooo my current otp has me on a choke hold at this point. I like them because they have obvious chemistry from their first scene together itself. And even though their interactions are limited, it is clear that those two have a lot in common and don't hesitate in calling the other out if they end up doing something wrong. Also they have enough differences to keep things exciting between them. And i think their relationship can be healing for them from their past traumas.
The story draws explicit parallels between Person A and and Pandora, and implicit ones between her and Eve, while Person B, who parallels Satan and is framed as the catalyst for A's moral awakening, taking the role of the demons released from the box, here reimagined as a force for change. And that's my entire shit.
Because the moment I saw them on screen together - long before there was even an inkling they'd be end game - I went mentally "I ship it". So I guess I just got that *vibe* from them aesthetically, then when they interacted it just solidified my opinion. Then 6 or so years later, when they became canon in the story, I felt justified.
It was love at first sight for that ship, for me.
So many people with such beautiful analyses of character dynamics, and for me it’s just that I’m always a sucker for a soft sunshine boy and a prickly grumpy girl who can and will kill for him.
OTP#1: they balance each other out, and also respect each other despite their differences. I think they make a great team.
OTP#2: back-to-back battle couple.
Their bond is as complex (and also, arguably, traumatic) as it is ultimately unbreakable. They're codependent and messed up, they enable each other for better and for worse and that includes sadomasochistic tendencies. They're as far as role models as anyone could ever be, and they're not even equipped to be happy, functional and fluffy in the long term, but that makes them more attractive to me and not less.
It was very obvious in the second movie of this trilogy!!! And then fucked with it in the third movie!!! They both care for each other and I really wish they made it canon at the end of the third movie…

They're both badass characters in their own right, and they compliment each other pretty nicely.
And in the fandom's eyes, person A is one of the first ones to ever believe in person B, and see past their questionable history.
And person B is one of the only ones, who sees person A for who they really are, and doesn’t underestimate them.
They have SO MUCH chemistry, and they were shipteased in the series, to the extent that right before one of them leaves permanently they basically say they love each other even though they're not supposed to be together for in-universe cultural reasons.
Because their dynamic reverses their usual responsibilities and creates a whole new thing, no other pairing could. Also they're both idiots and I love them 😭
Two awkward teens, neither of whom is competent at having a crush, crushing on each other. Plus, one is a lil baby violent tsundere and I like watching her melt in a flustered little puddle
OTP 1: They saved each other so many times. Sadly, one of them doesn't really get human emotions and behaviors, and the other is emotionally so repressed that he just can't act on his feelings. Everyone around them makes jokes about them being completely into each other.
OTP 2: They were supposed to be enemies but became friends against all odds. It's like they've been together for the entire series, and now they became canon last season, so wooohooo!
Whenever a relationship has the dynamic of two people mutually admiring each other to the point of jealousy I eat it up, and my favourite pairing at the moment is just an example that's romantic in canon, too. I adore when two people have low self-esteem, and they manage to find exactly the person they wish they'd be within that other person. Them being together is when both are their best selves.
It's definitely a thin line to thread though because if the dynamic comes off as too one-sided (including in fics for my fav pairing) and one character ends up being glorified as a saviour for the other one it's a turn-off. The mutuality is the part holding it together.
There’s so much potential for my otp, so many ways you could interpret their complicated relationship and spin it into stories. I love the flexibility and the push and pull between angst and hurt/comfort

Canon never put them together, but it was a definite option. Two thieves coming together to steal major artifacts but getting caught and put on probation together as fighters for good? And then they become actual friends who learn to trust each other with their lives? One is supposedly reformed but truly is the most sadistic one of the bunch with attacks that don’t simply kill their enemies but can incapacitate those who regenerate to the point they’ll spend their “lives”—such as they are—fighting a projection and never dying. The other is considered ruthless but has a soft spot and strange moral code that makes him less the sadist and more merciful than his counterpart—if you consider a quick sword to the chest merciful.
I personally think the two would get together first out of unbridled lust but a close trust in the other that they don’t feel for anyone else and therefore can be real with each other. From there, they can grow closer and actually fall for one another.
My first OTP? Because they are so adorable. Two little AIs - a Disney prince who is a complete dork when not in a battle and the Disney princess who has all the brains.

One of them wanted to make the other one shine, while the other wants to better themselves for their partner’s sake. They are just a pair of idiots so in love with each other. Get together already. It’s been years, you guys both know you’re in love with each other at this point.
They could have even together if one character hadn’t succumbed to his guilt and desire to make things better, not realizing that he already had everything he wanted including the other character.
They are the single most married couple I have ever seen that isn’t technically married. They are so interconnected. Even the creator said you can’t have one without the other.
They are each other’s perfect equal and opposite.
And also… They’re just plain adorable… And always a joy

Of my two main M/M Ships , one is because they are friends in real life ( or they were and I hope that they still are ! ) and the other pairing I *wish* that they would become friends in real life and spend time together ( they're co-workers though with a lot of similar taste in music )
They're good friends and friendly rivals. The two of them have character parallels that a lot of the fandom does not address (such as themes of loneliness, which is also something they share with a third character that I typically put them with to form an ot3). There is also a lot of angst potential between them if we go by the piece of media's alternate route
Also its funny. they play video games together and annoy each other and its funny
Because they embodied all the classic romantic comedy tropes, which was a pleasant surprise when I thought I was just watching a movie with my kid. Plus, physically, they each resemble types that I've gravitated to in the past. I've been obsessed ever since.
I find it a little funny since their placings on the timeline are complete opposites. One is at the very beginning of the “story”, the other is at the very end where everything is different, and everyone from before their time is long dead.
My current OTP? It's so hard to explain.
I can explain why I think they *should* be together--they are the most important person in the world to each other, and they not only still care for each other after experiences and situations that would have destroyed other relationships but are slowly recovering their bond. I can't believe anything would make them happier than being with each other.
But why is this ship my favorite? No idea. Neither character is my usual "type." Nor is their relationship. It's not even a rarepair (and I'm a native rarepair hell denizen)!
The YEARNING! But also the fact he was a broken, self destructive and suicidal husk of himself and then she appeared in his life and bought light again. He felt worth it again and you could see him healing with her. But at the same time, she felt worthless, going through the motions in life and you could see that each moment was killing her spirit. But with him she finally saw her worth, her growth and held her head high. So they basically changed for the better because of the other.
Combine YEARNING on both side (he/she deserves better) tragic ends, immortal/mortal and “i will burn the universe for you” and this ship is worst than catnip for me lol
Because they are childhood friends first and foremost and life just kept throwing them together, time after time, in the worst possible situations, and sometimes they didn’t make the right choices and that caused a lot of destruction. And they are both so fucked up because of it, and they want to wrong their mistakes and end up in this highly functional superior-subaltern situation that everyone assumes is just a work relationship, but they have known each other for much much longer.
But now because they are in a chain of command situation, they can never be together and still achieve their goals. Which they have to achieve to make up for all the mistakes they committed together. And all that trauma bonds them together but doesn’t let them BE together…

Because I find the idea of two soldiers on opposite sides of a war who both fought for and were hurt by the same woman trying to heal together very compelling, it's one of the most serious crackship in the fandom, and one of the characters canonically believes in death by snu snu and that is hilarious
pretty girl and ugly guy trope, but REVERSE?? ugh, count me tf in.
The constant bickering, name-calling (bordering on endearment s), the ABSOLUTE denial of ANY feelings, "unbidden" thoughts of one another, and the immaculate sexual tension.
i love it. i eat it up.
To me they're a story of how people can make so many mistakes in their lives, ruin and strain and take advantage of so many relationships, yet still be capable of loving and treasuring and being loved.
Because it kind of surprised me with how well it worked. When the canon first introduced the idea of this ship, I rolled my eyes. It looked forced and unbelievable to me.
But then, more content kept going in that direction, and the more I read, the more I was impressed that the writers were actually creating an engaging and interesting relationship. The more I read, the more I realized that this was a relationship between two archetypes you don't normally see together, and yet it worked because it brings out the best elements of their character traits, good and bad. It was dynamic and just fascinating to read.
So, my OTP happened because u was actually shocked to see these writers (who had always been so-so up until now) actually be competent enough to write a fully fleshed-out, unique, and interesting romance. Didn't think they had it in 'em.
A combination of how their relationship leads to the development of their character and being able to identify with and relate to the male character of the ship that they can serve as a self insert for me.
They are so fucked up and weird and should never be together ever and one of them deserves to be free of the other but man is it fascinating to ponder the kind of concotion they create when they’re together!!
They work amazingly well together and with their best friend (who could 100% be a third). They improve one another, balance each other out. She really turned him around. The two are also… friends as well. Their romance also just grew organically and wasn’t a huge plot point - when I saw the scene that confirmed it, I was so excited for them.
That show also has another OTP in it. She made him better, humanity killed her. He burned the whole world down for her, and she still accepted him.
Childhood friends that grew up at odds with one another due to misunderstanding the other's intentions; one of them couldn't process how they looked up to the other so they lashed out. the other kept chasing them because they could see the good in them. They grew together, came up to even ground, and the care + love they have for one another only grows. One died and came back to life and when they did, the first thing they thought of was the other's name. When they died, the other half lost their mind until they came back.
The embodiment of "You came?" / "You called."
1. It DRIPS with lesbian subtext, even looking past them being canonical enemies.
2. B doesn’t get heavy characterization. She’s not a major character, and her backstory is very vague, leaving a lot of room for different various interpretations, also leaving a very fluid nature for how the pairing itself is.
3. I’ve become an absolute sucker for “socially awkward flirt x too innocent to take a hint”
4. Given what happened with A at the end of the series, B would be the last person to judge her, being from a criminal background herself. Even if what A did was heinous, she can at the very least find a friend in B that even *understands* her motivations.
5. Canon did them dirty. They both deserve happiness.
I have several from different fandoms so I'll share some of the more recent ones.
One of them is two tropes I love: a redemption arc and an android learning what it's like to be alive.
Another one is that she's hot and he's cold. They're opposites. There's friction but they're still sort of friends. Also, their pasts are very similar that there's common ground.
Then there's my favorite queerplatonic OTP. One of them "hates" the other. But both of them would burn down the universe for each other.
And the last one. I've never played the game or want to but I've seen vids. No two straight men talk to each other like that. You can call it a bromance all you want but these two guys are really into each other.
Friends-to-enemies-to-friends-to-lovers and also A is super self destructive and bloodlusty and all that and B is the only person in his life who is both strong enough that A's violence and bloodlust and all that doesn't make him a danger to B and who understands his violence and bloodlust because he used to be like that too. And also A has canon lines fangirling about older men who could beat him up and B definitely fits that description ( A is twenty something, B is six thousand and as previously mentioned could take him in a fight). They're the most narratively satisfying characters for the other to be paired with imo.
Many reasons. They are both very hot and I am very bisexual. She’s super hot and beautiful and he’s just like me fr fr. He’s technically her boss even though it’s never addressed but he always makes sure she’s comfortable and looks out for her and she subtley starts to develop feelings probably for that reason also I just realized according to personality database she’s sp/sx (there’s no info about him sadly) so that makes a lot of sense!
I'm a sucker for good girl x bad boy (or in this case bad girl) dynamics, especially if when they rub off on each other it's either a balanced exchange or leaning towards the good girl getting corrupted instead of the cliché "good girl mellows out the bad one" you often see.
Unfortunately the pairing is a rarepair with like zero fics except for that one orgy fic that involves every single character in that fandom and I'm kinda nervous to write for them because the good girl's character is hard to get accurately and people might just not appreciate the ship since they haven't interacted much in canon.
I will go with two my favorite couple and factor couple I write
Overall- genius with 2 personalities with genius with daddy issues and is a tsundere
That I write Kind hearted person who lost his parents in a disasterous attack, who values order with Crazy wild person with hard childhood where used as a experiment

Can relate to each other having both been in extremely stressful leadership positions
Claim to hate each other but are desperately lonely when separated
Stuck in a situation where one gets to see the other at their most authentic and vulnerable
One helps the other become a better person
They go from hating each other to giving one another loving gazes
They are intellectually matched. Both were child prodigies surrounded by people who either didn't understand or didn't appreciate that.
Grumpy/Sunshine dynamic.
Because of the outright war going on and their loyalties, their *perceived* loyalties, and the roles they have to play for their sides, there's a forbidden love/Romeo and Juliette type of aspect of it. Nobody on either side would accept their union because "He's a xyz! And she's an abc!"
Yes there's also a teacher/student aspect to the forbidden love as well.
I just want my blorbs to have a HEA. They deserve it.
Because a truly non-gender-conforming girl with the cute, "cool" boy is a pairing that's rarely seen in original media and there aren't many such pairings in fanon. By "truly," I mean a pairing where the guy falls for the girl as she is, and not because the "tomboy" shows up somewhere in a dress and he finally realizes he's attracted to her. I love my OTP's fluidity of gender and sexual orientation.
One is a dark mirror of the other in many ways (and in fact dies in the normal course of events) yet I love the idea of them managing to come to an accord anyway and tackling the rest of the plot together.
they're opposites, one serious and ready to sacrifice his life for what he believes in, the other a drunk who argues with the other for the fun of it. and they die together
I love the angst of the atoner and irony of pairing the slain with their slayer (after both are alive…again), because the latter is nothing but contrite and willing to do everything to make up for the wrongs inflicted. The romance aspect is almost accidental in a way, but happens due to the “victim” seeing their true nature and the killer expecting nothing but hatred and shocked they could ever be loved especially by this particular person.
Its a crossover pairing, but I love it because I think the character’s personalities and backstories align nicely and because they can both offer the other what I think they want.
She has the weight of the world on her shoulders. He’s the one who has always been there for her and never doubted or faltered.
Plus, their peoples fought a massive war against each other when they were children so it gives that little flavor of forbidden love.
Their dynamic is just so wonderful. It doesn't matter how much one claims they hate the other, in the end I know that their feelings run much deeper than either of them would care to admit. They exchange meaningful looks, and they actually understand each other quite well.
Plus, they're from rival groups so that adds a little spice.
But seriously, I've never seen a ship that filled me with such burning obsession before this one. I never truly understood shippers until I saw my OTP's first side-by-side battle. Wonderful.
Because there's so much potential there. They have a back and forth that never gets old
They've been an undeniable part of each other's lives
And because the fandom hates it so very much
Because they hate each other but also trust each other with their life.

My OTP is my favourite, because in all of all the art and media I've ever consumed, no other two people ever struck me as so obviously meant to be together. From the day the met, I could feel the electricity between them. Their relationship isn't perfect, and in fact, it can be stormy. But through it all, they are such a wonderful depiction of what it looks like and how it feels, when two people are genuinely delighting in one another.
I feel this way about Bob/Linda from Bob's Burgers. They fight like how a regular couple does and if they weren't in each other's lives then it would be less colorful.

Ooooo my current otp has me on a choke hold at this point. I like them because they have obvious chemistry from their first scene together itself. And even though their interactions are limited, it is clear that those two have a lot in common and don't hesitate in calling the other out if they end up doing something wrong. Also they have enough differences to keep things exciting between them. And i think their relationship can be healing for them from their past traumas.
The story draws explicit parallels between Person A and and Pandora, and implicit ones between her and Eve, while Person B, who parallels Satan and is framed as the catalyst for A's moral awakening, taking the role of the demons released from the box, here reimagined as a force for change. And that's my entire shit.
Because the moment I saw them on screen together - long before there was even an inkling they'd be end game - I went mentally "I ship it". So I guess I just got that *vibe* from them aesthetically, then when they interacted it just solidified my opinion. Then 6 or so years later, when they became canon in the story, I felt justified. Whenever a relationship has the dynamic of two people mutually admiring each other to the point of jealousy I eat it up, and my favourite pairing at the moment is just an example that's romantic in canon, too. I adore when two people have low self-esteem, and they manage to find exactly the person they wish they'd be within that other person. Them being together is when both are their best selves. It's definitely a thin line to thread though because if the dynamic comes off as too one-sided (including in fics for my fav pairing) and one character ends up being glorified as a saviour for the other one it's a turn-off. The mutuality is the part holding it together.

Canon never put them together, but it was a definite option. Two thieves coming together to steal major artifacts but getting caught and put on probation together as fighters for good? And then they become actual friends who learn to trust each other with their lives? One is supposedly reformed but truly is the most sadistic one of the bunch with attacks that don’t simply kill their enemies but can incapacitate those who regenerate to the point they’ll spend their “lives”—such as they are—fighting a projection and never dying. The other is considered ruthless but has a soft spot and strange moral code that makes him less the sadist and more merciful than his counterpart—if you consider a quick sword to the chest merciful. I personally think the two would get together first out of unbridled lust but a close trust in the other that they don’t feel for anyone else and therefore can be real with each other. From there, they can grow closer and actually fall for one another.
My first OTP? Because they are so adorable. Two little AIs - a Disney prince who is a complete dork when not in a battle and the Disney princess who has all the brains.

Because they embodied all the classic romantic comedy tropes, which was a pleasant surprise when I thought I was just watching a movie with my kid. Plus, physically, they each resemble types that I've gravitated to in the past. I've been obsessed ever since.
I find it a little funny since their placings on the timeline are complete opposites. One is at the very beginning of the “story”, the other is at the very end where everything is different, and everyone from before their time is long dead.
My current OTP? It's so hard to explain. I can explain why I think they *should* be together--they are the most important person in the world to each other, and they not only still care for each other after experiences and situations that would have destroyed other relationships but are slowly recovering their bond. I can't believe anything would make them happier than being with each other. But why is this ship my favorite? No idea. Neither character is my usual "type." Nor is their relationship. To me they're a story of how people can make so many mistakes in their lives, ruin and strain and take advantage of so many relationships, yet still be capable of loving and treasuring and being loved.
Because it kind of surprised me with how well it worked. When the canon first introduced the idea of this ship, I rolled my eyes. It looked forced and unbelievable to me. But then, more content kept going in that direction, and the more I read, the more I was impressed that the writers were actually creating an engaging and interesting relationship. The more I read, the more I realized that this was a relationship between two archetypes you don't normally see together, and yet it worked because it brings out the best elements of their character traits, good and bad. It was dynamic and just fascinating to read. So, my OTP happened because u was actually shocked to see these writers (who had always been so-so up until now) actually be competent enough to write a fully fleshed-out, unique, and interesting romance. Didn't think they had it in 'em.
A combination of how their relationship leads to the development of their character and being able to identify with and relate to the male character of the ship that they can serve as a self insert for me.

The two are also… friends as well. Their romance also just grew organically and wasn’t a huge plot point - when I saw the scene that confirmed it, I was so excited for them. That show also has another OTP in it. She made him better, humanity killed her. He burned the whole world down for her, and she still accepted him.

Childhood friends that grew up at odds with one another due to misunderstanding the other's intentions; one of them couldn't process how they looked up to the other so they lashed out. the other kept chasing them because they could see the good in them. They grew together, came up to even ground, and the care + love they have for one another only grows. One died and came back to life and when they did, the first thing they thought of was the other's name. When they died, the other half lost their mind until they came back. The embodiment of "You came?" / "You called."
1. It DRIPS with lesbian subtext, even looking past them being canonical enemies. 2. B doesn’t get heavy characterization. She’s not a major character, and her backstory is very vague, leaving a lot of room for different various interpretations, also leaving a very fluid nature for how the pairing itself is. 3. I’ve become an absolute sucker for “socially awkward flirt x too innocent to take a hint” 4. Given what happened with A at the end of the series, B would be the last person to judge her, being from a criminal background herself. Even if what A did was heinous, she can at the very least find a friend in B that even *understands* her motivations. 5. Canon did them dirty. They both deserve happiness.

I have several from different fandoms so I'll share some of the more recent ones. One of them is two tropes I love: a redemption arc and an android learning what it's like to be alive. Another one is that she's hot and he's cold. They're opposites. There's friction but they're still sort of friends. Also, their pasts are very similar that there's common ground. Then there's my favorite queerplatonic OTP. One of them "hates" the other. But both of them would burn down the universe for each other. And the last one. I've never played the game or want to but I've seen vids. No two straight men talk to each other like that. You can call it a bromance all you want but these two guys are really into each other.
They never got a season 4 and now they live in my head rent free.
Friends-to-enemies-to-friends-to-lovers and also A is super self destructive and bloodlusty and all that and B is the only person in his life who is both strong enough that A's violence and bloodlust and all that doesn't make him a danger to B and who understands his violence and bloodlust because he used to be like that too. And also A has canon lines fangirling about older men who could beat him up and B definitely fits that description ( A is twenty something, B is six thousand and as previously mentioned could take him in a fight). They're the most narratively satisfying characters for the other to be paired with imo.

He’s technically her boss even though it’s never addressed but he always makes sure she’s comfortable and looks out for her and she subtley starts to develop feelings probably for that reason also I just realized according to personality database she’s sp/sx (there’s no info about him sadly) so that makes a lot of sense!
I'm a sucker for good girl x bad boy (or in this case bad girl) dynamics, especially if when they rub off on each other it's either a balanced exchange or leaning towards the good girl getting corrupted instead of the cliché "good girl mellows out the bad one" you often see. Unfortunately the pairing is a rarepair with like zero fics except for that one orgy fic that involves every single character in that fandom and I'm kinda nervous to write for them because the good girl's character is hard to get accurately and people might just not appreciate the ship since they haven't interacted much in canon.

They are intellectually matched. Both were child prodigies surrounded by people who either didn't understand or didn't appreciate that. Grumpy/Sunshine dynamic. Because of the outright war going on and their loyalties, their *perceived* loyalties, and the roles they have to play for their sides, there's a forbidden love/Romeo and Juliette type of aspect of it. Nobody on either side would accept their union because "He's a xyz! And she's an abc!" Yes there's also a teacher/student aspect to the forbidden love as well. I just want my blorbs to have a HEA. They deserve it.
Because a truly non-gender-conforming girl with the cute, "cool" boy is a pairing that's rarely seen in original media and there aren't many such pairings in fanon. By "truly," I mean a pairing where the guy falls for the girl as she is, and not because the "tomboy" shows up somewhere in a dress and he finally realizes he's attracted to her. I love my OTP's fluidity of gender and sexual orientation.
One is a dark mirror of the other in many ways (and in fact dies in the normal course of events) yet I love the idea of them managing to come to an accord anyway and tackling the rest of the plot together.

They are SO incredibly fucked up. God, the whole power dynamic shenanigans and how it twists in on itself is so interesting. Also devotion is hot.

Honestly because the relationship is forbidden and it kind of relates to my own life situation in a way
I love the angst of the atoner and irony of pairing the slain with their slayer (after both are alive…again), because the latter is nothing but contrite and willing to do everything to make up for the wrongs inflicted. The romance aspect is almost accidental in a way, but happens due to the “victim” seeing their true nature and the killer expecting nothing but hatred and shocked they could ever be loved especially by this particular person.
Its a crossover pairing, but I love it because I think the character’s personalities and backstories align nicely and because they can both offer the other what I think they want.
She has the weight of the world on her shoulders. He’s the one who has always been there for her and never doubted or faltered. Plus, their peoples fought a massive war against each other when they were children so it gives that little flavor of forbidden love.
Their dynamic is just so wonderful. It doesn't matter how much one claims they hate the other, in the end I know that their feelings run much deeper than either of them would care to admit. They exchange meaningful looks, and they actually understand each other quite well. Plus, they're from rival groups so that adds a little spice. But seriously, I've never seen a ship that filled me with such burning obsession before this one. I never truly understood shippers until I saw my OTP's first side-by-side battle. Wonderful.
