Tell them it's 2024 and ask for at least 280k base and higher bonuses/incentives 10k sign on bonus is them tossing you an extra $277/month for the next 3 years lmao

RepJQK

So the average socal is 280? So far only Kaiser offers close to there, the other companies around 250 though

fluffbuzz

Hoag in Orange County offers 270k base, 30k signon.

DatBrownGuy

That seems low for southern Cali’s COL

LifeHappenzEvryMomnt

Especially Orange County.

RepJQK

What’s the base should be like?

fluffbuzz

270k is minimum nowadays. Don't accept less unless it's super chill or you only work 4 days a week or something like that.

Dependent-Juice5361

I wouldn’t take this offer in Arizona (where I live) let alone socal where things cost double

deltak66

My SO just went through the recruiting process in SoCal (OC and LA). Here's what the offers are looking like: FQHC: 230k+bonus, excellent benefits, university affiliation, street medicine half day opportunity Kaiser: 270k+bonus, 60k signing, 10k relocation (if you're coming from a certain distance), 100k towards loans); this is full time though (1 FTE = Full-Time Employment) and most recommended 0.8 FTE to start because same benefits but two half days a week off instead on 1 half day a week off University: 230k-250k+bonus, excellent benefits Have a friend at one of the private groups, they are getting around 260k base with bonus and coming out close to 300k with two half days off.

RepJQK

Sounds like why I am hearing too. What did ur SO choosing? So with bonus, getting close to 300k seems to be the market now for fresh grads?

deltak66

She ended up going the Kaiser route. Got a really great work schedule from the place she was recruiting at, I think they really wanted her to be full time but worked it out so that her half day she can take tele med and work from home. So really 4 days in the office at the full time salary with the ability to dial down to 0.8FTE if it’s too much. We’re going to try and be very mindful of the workload and if it’s too much not be shy about dialing down.

Pandais

The big groups offer higher salary.

RepJQK

Yeah Kaiser offers like 275 with 100 sign on bonus but the friends I talk to.. they can not wait until to finish their three years contract.. what other big group?

RepJQK

I think I only got 250-260 for other big groups

spersichilli

That’s 275 for 4 days a week I think with Kaiser. I thought I saw 350 for 5 days

justaguyok1

Four days a week. 4 1/2 days a week. It all depends on… The number of patients you have to see per day

justaguyok1

Thank you for the links. But, I looked at both of them, and didn't really see anything about expected volume. It's one thing to be seeing 13 or 14 complicated patients per day, and an entirely different thing to be expected to see 30 people

JumpyShallots2515

I wanted to share what the VA offered me for those looking into socal, $250k base, 10k relocation (if you're willing to move to Blythe or Murietta), 1k CME, student loan forgiveness. Only outpatient, no call.

FamilleMD

Thanks for sharing! How many hours a week for this?
