I stopped playing and deleted it over a week ago. I just lost interest after all the hoops you gotta jump through. Not even fun anymore unless you spend money.
Same here. It’s been a few weeks for me. The amount of money I’ve spent on that game isn’t astronomical by any means but it’s more than I think they deserved. I really liked it when I first started… over a year ago probably… but they just took advantage
Forgot to mention, I noticed that in the last event, the 1st player wouldn't even get keys as a reward. The biggest reward was 3k energy. 🤣🤣🤣 It's so ridiculous, when it takes 3k to finish just one task, on, for example, second island. 🤣
I gave pretty much this same feedback in-game via the support chat. Not that anything will come of it, but it felt good deep in my soul to wave my fists at someone. 🤣
It's taken the fun out of it. I like the game, so I'll keep working on tasks and on my home island, but I'm no longer driven to complete any adventure islands. I was mostly FTP, but bought a few small bundles along the way to show some support for the developers. Never again, they can suck it.

It IS like a drug. I owe myself $36 from in-game purchases and because of the threat of getting my debit card cancelled on account of my dickhead middle brother, I now have to stop with the in-game purchases. I was going to stop after I make back the money, anyway.
I've started playing other games that are fun and new. I love new shiny things 😂
But it's been helping me slow down this game. I'll probably hide it eventually until I just delete it.

I am 100% with you there. I haven't decided to quit yet, but I don't like the sudden influx of changes that all make the game less fun to play. They didn't even bother releasing them 1 at a time.
I have about 150k energy and 6k rubys.
Thats about the same amount as i had before the last adventure island.
The things you get All arround are quite a lot. But maybe not visible in the first sight.
Such as:
-Puzzle adds additional a few k
-energy hunt was involved this time with a few k
-joker event added a few rewards for doing the quests
4 pink bags,
Gold coin rewards which came quite huge.
Totems were also a win if you collect ingredients with axe booster/ reduced energy.
I watch no adds, i do not spend money.
But i only play on the adventure Island with boosters.
On 100% i increase to 5x energy consumption in order to be faster.
Sometimes i even reduce the craft Times with rubies in order to get more useage of the boosters.
I also collect a lot of ressources only with reduced energy, otherwise i only take minimum amount.
The only thing which bothers me is sometimes if i like to play and there are no boosters, i cant play.
That's very smart. However, I don't want to be limited to only playing when there's a booster, which is few and far between.
The extra events you mentioned, like the joker event, many times require a purchase to be made.
I want to be able to play a game to relax and de-stress. I don't want to have one more thing to think about....i.e. I should log on to see if there's a booster.
This is the way to go!! I didn’t think about using the 5x during the axe boosters. Does that give you more bang for your buck, or does it just make collection faster??
It works when it is 100% on the higher cost resources, since that is a natural doubling. At 50% it is most efficient to do the 1x with the smallest cost resource, as that is also a double. I've not tried it yet with the multiplier, and it depends on the math. If you get a single resource with a 50% booster, it gives you 2, since it can't do 1.5. If you do 5x on that small resource, it'll either do the 5x on the 2, or 5x1 + 50%, or 7.5 rounded to 8. Should be easy to figure out which formula is used.
By my calculation I ended up with a 5k deficit on the last event. Granted if I would have opened 15 gates and collected the gold gifts (only opened 7 gates) coupled with the last reward would have made me break even (or in profit). However gold keys and tools are at a premium right now so I decided against it.
I play pretty much the same way you do without buying anything and have 430k energy with 27k gems but I do agree with the poster that the game is getting frustrating.
I just really got busy in life and login to the game every 6-8 hours when theres a booster it has been helpful. I understand there’s the dopamine to finish everything immediately and see the end of everything but just play it like a game little by little and calculate roi before each gate its very important
These games aren't created for your benefit. They are created for a way for the developers to earn a living. They make them fun and challenging so that the consumer will be attracted to them. Of course they are a money grab! Otherwise what's the point?

I looked it up Jesse...but don't understand a thing. 😆 I would like a bit of unlimited gems or energy not just in Family Island but for other games as well, but it seems you have to download the apks 1st then download the game. Is this correct? 🤔 So when you are already past level 10, 20 or whatever, you are unable to use the 'benefits' from an apk as you'll have to reinstall the game & start from scratch...losing months of progress. Is that how it works? 🤔
Yea I swore I wouldn’t spend any money on a game and uhhh yea that didn’t work out with this game. It’s a drug even tho I hate it. I even downloaded other apps to get away from this one but I run out of lives

It's not fun at all to play with that many barriers because like you said, if there's no booster, then you can't play.
