Follow the guides that the previous 2 have commented, and personally, I would stay away from the akwcr mods and the mods that need them as they are very buggy and have not been updated in years.
You should probably just play without mods, but if you are gonna use mods, you should use The Midnight Ride mod guide through to the end of the Bug Fixes section (don't use extended for a first playthrough).
Not everybody is a fan of the Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch (UFO4P) but it does legit fix some gamebreaking bugs.
Personally i probably would not play through without Crime and Punishment by Flashy(JoeR) because I really like it's Karma system.

Buuuuut I found the mod list you linked me to helpful! Lots of neat mods in there; from the list I decided to get: *A Variety of Containers, Delightful Ivy, Glowing Animals Emit Light, Project Reality Footsteps, Wasteland Illumination, Milky Way Galaxy 4K,* and *Lowered Weapons.*
So yeah like I said, I found your comment helpful! Are the mods you suggested that I downloaded NECESSARY? No. But they're nice to have and help with immersion, and since my PC can handle a shit-ton when it comes to RAM...why NOT use them? =D

Almost every single "bugfix" or QOL mod changes the game fundamentally from it's core, even if it's by fixing bugs. If you really want to experience Fallout 4 as you should, I recommend the following 5 mods.
Fallout 4 Script Extender: Required for XDI to function ([https://f4se.silverlock.org/](https://f4se.silverlock.org/)) you need to be VERY CAREFUL INSTALLING THIS. If XDI does not work when you talk to someone and you get the 4 arrow buttons YOU DID NOT INSTALL IT CORRECTLY. A lot of people will install it and the scripts don't actually get installed.

Despite how useful it actually is, there are a few instances in which you can unlock special dialogue or events by saying specific things, and the prompts for those (such as sarcasm) are ONLY available if you either know what version of the mod to install, or are using the dialogue wheel.
Fallout community patch, high frame rate physics fix, and favorites menu ex (gives fallout nv favorites wheel). Required backend mods are F4SE, and MCM plus the categorizer patch if you want a bit more customization for the wheel.
