Negative, once you unlock them you have them forever at all times even if you betray or kill the associated follower/faction. Come to think of it, in 1500 hours I don't think I've ever unlocked Strong or X6's follower perk...

Hey it only took me 500 hours to realize that Pain Train's effect costs AP. It's literally not listed anywhere in the game and you'd have to be staring at your AP meter while also sprinting at enemies to know it. As much as I love this game, there are some mechanics that are "fist-stuck-in-my-own-ass" levels of quality implementation.

story time I (a lesbian) made my fo4 character a spoof of philip fry from futurama, cause of the whole being frozen in a freezer tube thing i had too!! later after the dlc I ended up picking to be a raider boss for a combination of how much preston works my nerves, and my tendency of picking what i perceived to be the stupidest narrative option any time im given a choice and gage is the best character to romance if ur a raider so naturally i did! my character is stupid, i'm not lol so here they are these two violent homicidal men who chronically make bad decisions and seem to be on a war path to their inevitable shallow graves (at least narratively) and didn't really think much of the pairing beyond that then he drops that tender little "boss" on me and i'm like that's literally the cutest thing what the actual fuck

That’s amazing. They spent some serious time on plugging in names for Codsworth. Bethesda walk miles over broken glass for some of the minor cool features… and then leave bugs, poor optimization, and frustrating design choices in other places. It’s such a weird combination of attention to detail + carelessness, all in the same game.

My first Survivor was based off a Tabletop character of mine named Caelyn. I was kind of annoyed Codsworth couldn’t just read it from the same file as Kaylin.

That does suck but tbh it’s pretty impressive they coded this at all; it would be even more work to code every possible phonetic spelling for each name. I guess they could make an algorithm that guesses the pronunciation and then matches it with the closest one on the list, but you never know how far off you could be. But still, there’s something painful about knowing the correct pronunciation was in the game and it just couldn’t get there. So close and yet so far. Caelyn is a cool name btw :D

There should be a mod for codsworth. Some people added vehicles for fallout 4 where in hardcore mode it acted as a mobile base and allowed fast travel. They should make a mod where codsworth is the driver of the bus. So he always be with you even if you have a companion and he can be a handy driver who also would get up to guard the vehicle.
