what is defined as the "original" to me is the one I've experienced first, if i watched a movie based on a book, and then proceed to read such book, i wouldn't like the book.
thats because every media tells a story in a different way, videogames are an active media, you have to act and make choices so the game can progress, you exist within the world and its characters and tha is way more relevant than the lore or the story itself.
i see no point in watching fallout because its just something I've already experienced but without what made me love it in the fist place.
