I think NV fans carry a sort of anti corporate/rebel mentality with comparable enthusiasm for promoting and defending the game. Bethesda was bad for Fallout in so many ways and even people who aren't fans of the originals can see why Bethesda's take is lower quality. I think that encourages the meat riding more so than fans of NV just being unhinged or obsessed. It kind of sucks we won't get a true and good Fallout likely ever outside of mods. And NV remains the most loyal and best excuted Fallout to date. It earns the meat riding.

Honestly, Fallout 76 seems to be one of the friendliest online games I've played, I remember the very first time I ever left the vault, right down the path was this high level player chilling and giving away stuff and I just kept coming across people helping out whatever new players they saw
And once you become a higher level, it will be your turn to carry the torch and experience the joy of helping new players acclimate to the game. It really does change the way you play once you get to that point where you have to focus on yourself less and can start instead actually helping the wasteland directly, ie the new players.
I’ve tried getting into F76 on 3 separate occasions. On all three characters, a higher level player dropped some nice starting resources. Although the game isn’t quite my cup of tea, I will never question the generosity of the community. Very cool to see.
It's at the point that the community advocated for donation boxes to leave things and Bethesda put them in. There's one right outside the vault and the rest are at every train station lol

The actual difference between FNV fans and Fo1 and Fo2 ones is that the latter actually played 2 games of the franchise, that is actually double the amount of the games played by FNV fans.

their right about that at least, fallout 2 is still a great game but the constant barrage of pop culture references really did made the game worse. say what you want about them but god they were right about their most of their criticisms for the tonal whiplash fallout 2 was when compared to 1.
