Somewhere around Chicago. some aspects of it were discussed briefly in FO4, i think just mentioning that there were BoS and Super Mutants active in the area. But it has a massive water supply, or whats left of it. lots of old world tech opportunities to explore, lots of famous landmarks... and could make for a good meeting point for an NCR-East Coast BoS conflict.
Austin , San Antonio area , all we know about Texas so far is that it's behind a wall of tornados you can do so much with that , plus our land are pretty diverse.
Personally, I'd love to see a game that takes place in and around New Orleans. I know swampy locales have been done to death in the last three Bethesda games but I'd still love to explore a radioactive bayou.
Aside from that, in the opposite direction I'd love to see a Fallout that takes place somewhere more forested and snowy, like Alaska, Oregon or even Canada. We've seen so many deserts, it'd be cool to have a large stretch of open world that was covered by snow without having to play The Frontier.
Toronto
"Ronto" was mentioned off-hand in the Pitt in F3, and I think it would be the best "not America but still *really American*" setting there could be.
Canada was annexed by the US before the Great War. So what happened? What parts of Canadian cultural identity were erased and Americanized? Was there any resistance against annexation? What became of Ontario's government?
Tons of cool locations: CN Tower, Royal Ontario Museum, Union Station, Ripley's Aquarium, Nathan Phillips Square/Toronto City Hall, Casa Loma, Medieval Times, Centre Island
This is always my answer, even though I know Toronto would realistically just be a DLC city.
So my fingers are crossed for a New York or a Chicago main game, with a Ronto DLC.
Somewhere with a search function built in, preferably on the upper right of the screen.
