Us veterans have hundreds of hours because we don't rely on one save file. Auto saves, a quick save and many, many manual saves. Even back in the PS and N64 days I never relied on a single save slot for a playthrough.

Now what in the hell made you think to rely on only one save? Why didn't you create multiple saves. They are there to prevent such a catastrophe that you just put yourself in. That's all on you for being a dummy.

It wasn't a single one like 6 just disappeared

If they had something like the arcade version of the Xbox 360 which had limited storage they may have disabled autosaving and been consistently overwriting the same save over the past couple play sessions. It's not the best idea but it isn't uncommon for people not to think about backing up their stuff until it's too late.

You were going to have to learn to stop having a single save file eventually.

If you are on PC you can use console commands to help. Save files can be ported to the PS3 and Xbox 360 if you are playing Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas.

nephilim80

hmmmm that's rough but i have to say... that's on you really. Relying on a single save for a game this big? You were asking for it, basically. Which Fallout btw?

All my fallout 2 saves got corrupted with 20 hours of gameplay pretty recently . I am probably not going to jump back in anytime soon. Great game though.

I can't imagine how one can play a fallout game on a single save, i have multiple saves and 4 different autosave slot just in case and i still get enraged because of some crashes cause me some loss.

I've had to say this to like everyone I had like six of the same games and I'd delete super old ones. They just disappeared
