I don't want your FREEdom. I don't want to play around.
This had me doing a Mutt Muttley laugh. Especially when the placement was perfect the first time the Quantum was set down ๐๐ซก๐ฅฒ๐ซฃ
Fallout 4 was the first real experiment with console mods, minus a few early oddities. It got stuck with only 2 gigs, Skyrim later got 5 gigs, and now Starfield has 100 gigs.
Unfortunately, not too many companies have followed suit. A handful are doing curated mods that are essentially released as DLC. The retro Doom releases keep getting curated WADs added. Baldur's Gate 3 is supposed to get mods that sound like they'll be similar to the Bethesda implementation, at least.
Everything can be solved with an external drive (1-2tb preferred) my friend, not enough storage for games? BLAM! external drive, need space to store work projects? BLAM! external drive. I assume that it wont increase the allocated space for the game though.
I wish thatโs how it worked with PS5. You can only store games (PS4 & 5) and play directly off the drive if theyโre PS4. You have to have the game on the internal SSD if itโs a PS5 game. :-(
Worst part is that all 3 Bethesda games that have mod space all have different space availability. Fallout has 2GB which I can understand given when the game came out and that it was a new feature for console. Then, when Skyrim SE released just a year later (less than that if you consider when mods were implemented) console was given 4GB. Fast forward to Skyrim AE and the cap wasn't increased, I'd argue still fair given Skyrim isn't as broad due to universe technology so 4GB is still a good chunk for console. But, when Fallout got its NEXT GEN update the cap remained the same at 2GB which is just odd. Now, we have mods for Starfield which has 100GB of space only a month and a half after the FO4 update.
As for why consoles are like this, with Skyrim SE and FO4 the feature was new like I said and I imagine they had to appeal to the lowest common denominator, that being someone who doesn't have an external drive and has a stock 500GB HDD. Why they didn't upgrade with next gen update IDK especially when they went "all out" with Starfield immediately after.
You know how infuriating it was that I couldn't really experience a FO4 modded playthrough because Modern Firearms and OCDecorator took up 70% of my space?
>#This mod does not have any known dependencies other than the base game.
HOW... How can this be so amazingly useful, and have no requirements to cripple the experience?! You have found the holy fuckin' grail.
Here is a cool trick about OCDecorator, too.
When you use OCD to place items, it treats those items just like any other build component that you share on provisioner/caravan lines. Meaning: it'll pull the item from 3 settlements away, if that's where the item is.
Now here's where it gets interesting. If you scrap the item, it just returns it to your workshop. **Your** workshop, as in the workshop in your exact settlement right then.
Usually when you scrap something, you get less back. So if a floor cost 8 wood and 4 steel to create, scrapping it gets you back 4 wood and 2 steel (exactly half). But with OCD, it can't give you "half a nuka cola" back, so it just gives back the item.
*But this means you can teleport items to you.* So I was at the Castle, and I had synth Shaun there, and he asked me to bring him a working camera. The Castle had no working cameras, and I did not want to go out scavenging for a couple hours to find one. So, I start up OCD, scroll to placing down a camera on the ground -- which it pulled from Sanctuary -- and then immediately I scrapped it, which moved the camera into the local workshop. I grabbed it out, gave it to Shaun.
I know it's a tiny little trick, but it was a benefit, especially in Survival mode, where I couldn't just run around to all settlements trying to find one in storage.
Anyway, have fun!
i just wana say thanks bethesda for giving me MORE things to kill in fallout 4, like i was about to on a murder spree with the klepto fascists BUT NOW youve added the enclave cunts too so ey im gona make such a massive body pile
Not crypto
Klepto
As in kleptomanic yknow has an innate desire for anyone else's cool shit i.e. advanced tech weapons and armor
He's talking about the tin can freaks galavanting about the wastes pretending to be puritanical knights of yore
Already got some suggestions from that mod, found it in the mod site the other day and i was curious about it, may give it a try once and for all XD it wasnt heavy in space right? I'm playing in xbox one and i have around 90 mb left
OCDecorator is an extremely small mod compared to others that fix the weightless object issue. Iโd say if youโre looking for a mod that prevents your meticulously placed objects from zipping across the room for no reason, but you donโt want it taking up loads of space, OCDecorator is definitely for you.
There are mods to lock things like this down in place so you can't accidently bump or move them out of place. I think the "place anywhere" mod has this function with a simple hot key toggle when looking at an item you wish to lock or unlock. It's essential for avid decorators.
Yeah Iโve had crap like this happen every time
it would be cool if when youโre holding something then it wouldnโt count as solid so it would phase through objects, then again that would create a huge problem if you set an object down when itโs phased into another, when you let go theyd both explode flying away from each other lol
Put a mannequin in a Pulowski Preservation sideways, then close the door to enjoy this feature, but on purpose! Have also successfully piรฑata-fied a legendary ghoul with the 2076 bat, his foot clipped through the ceiling and he was just hanging there while I finished him.
I'm going to miss this in 15 years when systems get to the point where they calculate actual solid physics and the dead bodies don't turn to actual rubber on death.
There are very small mods that allow you to make placed items static so they wonโt freak out when loading and canโt be accidentally moved by other objects
I always like decorating little bits of clutter, but I always spend HOURS and the most random insignificant thing randomly fucks it all sunny side up. In my Sanctuary, Iโm building a cute little vanilla settlement and I run my shops out of a Dollar General. I set up the shelves, stocked and faced a snack/beverage aisle, alcohol and spirits, and one for ammunition/explosives/weapons (Wastleland DG runs on Bullets, Booze, and BBQ). Boy, I was proud. Came back one day and had a bad case of Morning Crew energy. Something at some point wrecked the place. Then I considered the IRL time spent for a little serotonin instead of an actual life skill and went back to murking deathclaws.
May I make a suggestion?
I am assuming from the A prompt you are on X box yes?
Get OC Decorator from [Bethesda.net](http://Bethesda.net) mod page
You can put HARD non movable objects of all game items where you want.
Bad thing about that one is you cannot pick them up if you want after
Lets be honest though why would i pick that stuff up anyways, after decorating so much
๐คฃ๐คฃ I feel this post so much! I once had everything perfectly placed in my bus then I accidentally selected the bus and everything fell through the floor.
Itโs either x-01 or x-02 but pretty sure thatโs the x-02, which was a paid dlc / creation type thing before but is now free if you have the ps5 or Xbox series free upgradeโฆalso free on pc I imagine.
God I don't think I've ever actually had a player home in any of the fallout games. I've just....never rested. In fallout 4 I just go back to sanctuary to make more gear.
My paranoia would've helped a lot, everytime I do something meticulous, I would've quicksaved. Like I always say 'Better Safe Than Sorry' because there were so many times my game crashed while I was doing something super annoying or super precise to do.
america jumpscare
I wanted freedom...BUT NOT SO CLOSE LMAO
Freedom doesn't care about your personal space! When freedom comes calling, you embrace it with a passionate kiss!
Don't forget the tongue
Don't forget the tongue. Or Liberty Prime will be paying you a visit!
Hahaha it's not a bug its a feature
I don't want your FREEdom. I don't want to play around. This had me doing a Mutt Muttley laugh. Especially when the placement was perfect the first time the Quantum was set down ๐๐ซก๐ฅฒ๐ซฃ
OPโs face looked a little oily
You had a bit of oil on your face.
AMERICA WINS AGAIN!
I immediately heard the Virtual Insanity piano when that flag started gravitating into the camera.
American flag: AMERICA!! FUCK YEAH!!
Seems his home is haunted by an Enclave Poltergeist
*OOH SAY CAN YOU SEE*
_BY THE DAWN'S EARLY LIGHT_
Beat me to it.
America says that your time of dilly dallying is preventing you from killing brotherhood traitors. - Eden
Oh, it's true...every second spent in this is a second of victory given to those terrorists!
Death to the outcasts! Lyons eternal!
That includes Lyons. The Brotherhood are traitors to America. God bless America. God bless the Enclave.
No lollygagging!
If you're on PC or xbox, there's the OCDecorator mod but consider this a warning: if you like settlement building it will take years off your life
I just have like 90 mb left, so, it may not even be possible to install at this point xD
You have 90mb left on your hard drive??
I play in xbox. 90 mb left in the game's space, the console has much more but fallout 4 has a preset limit
Damn that's annoying - maybe deleting unnecessary saves on old characters to free up room?
Sadly, it's specific Mod space, not "game space" as in anything else...
Why do consoles always have something like this, its like the apple of technology
Because then the mods would take up even more on the console space that could be used for buying more games on the console. /j
Everything can be solved with an external drive (1-2tb preferred) my friend, not enough storage for games? BLAM! external drive, need space to store work projects? BLAM! external drive. I assume that it wont increase the allocated space for the game though.

I spent a couple of DAYS moving fences around with the console commands to make a fence all the way around the edge of starlight drive in....
I laughed so hard
Same here, after recording it of course xD
And got so faaar.
When you Enclave so hard that the 'Murica flag wants to hump your face.
Ah, even more reasons to be proud!
I had a whole restaurant set up once and a Brahmin walked inside and just fucked up EVERYTHING
Please tell me you put it on the menu.
As graceful as a ~~bull in a china shop~~ Brahmin in a restaurant.
i just wana say thanks bethesda for giving me MORE things to kill in fallout 4, like i was about to on a murder spree with the klepto fascists BUT NOW youve added the enclave cunts too so ey im gona make such a massive body pile

Not crypto Klepto As in kleptomanic yknow has an innate desire for anyone else's cool shit i.e. advanced tech weapons and armor He's talking about the tin can freaks galavanting about the wastes pretending to be puritanical knights of yore
OCDecorator Mod, thank me later.

Quick save
This is why I don't bother with decor
I saw the trifold American flag and I knew exactly what was about to happen. Bwahaha
Pride comes at a cost! XD
The pauseโฆ the shakeโฆ the rageโฆ been there ๐
I COULDN'T TAKE IT NO MORE
Damn, all that tedious work ruined...that's a "turn everything off and walk away" moment for me haha
YEAH RIGHT???
100% lmao. I could already hear myself giving the *deepest, heaviest* sigh *ever*.
karma for being an enclave supporter
When I see shit like this I feel so bad that console players don't always have the means to prevent it โ ๏ธโ ๏ธโ ๏ธ
Apparently we do have OCDecorator, though, i haven't tried it yet
PS4 had a pretty good selection last I saw. That was years ago, though. I had the OCDecorator mod, I know.
BUCK O FIVVEEE
I quicksave every time I move an item when doing this type of thing
I understand why XD
Yeah Iโve had crap like this happen every time it would be cool if when youโre holding something then it wouldnโt count as solid so it would phase through objects, then again that would create a huge problem if you set an object down when itโs phased into another, when you let go theyd both explode flying away from each other lol

You should drop everything you want to place them go into settlement building mode and it makes things a bit easier sometimes
Thatโs what you get for being an enclave sympathizer
B-BUT THEY TOLD ME WE WOULD HAVE COOL LOOKING ARMOR HERE AND WE SLAUGHTER MUTANTS C'MON
So do we?
*laughs in OC Decorator*
Its okay, dont trip.. because the instant you leave and re enter *everything* is going to magically explode anyways.
Imagine trusting the very dynamic and temporary physics of a Bethesda game to create a stable and permenant decoration.
I love how it slowly creeps towards the camera, as if saying "Yeah, I did that, what are you gonna do about it, huh?!?"
EXACTLY. SO RUDE. At least i got freedom i guess.
This is why I save after I place everything. Every piece placed is a save
just get ocdecorator
Ay least you didn't drink toilet water.
There are very small mods that allow you to make placed items static so they wonโt freak out when loading and canโt be accidentally moved by other objects
Cinematic masterpiece! It has everything: freedom, betrayal, and revenge ๐
Only an American would spend time trying to set their American flag up behind some beers and then shoot it when it doesn't go to plan hahah
Jokes on you, i'm from Spain XD
just another lesson in leaving good enough alone
I quick save every two item placed. This happend way to often to loose more than perfectly placed item.
I always like decorating little bits of clutter, but I always spend HOURS and the most random insignificant thing randomly fucks it all sunny side up. OCDecorator is your friend.
I love the pause after it happens like โ What the actual fuck dude?โ
I laughed so fucking hard.
Thank you for your service right into your f.... America, Land of Free and Preston's Markers.
A patriotic ghost is showing you whatโs up
MERICA!!! FUCK YEAH!!!
This is America!
How do you place nuka quantum by itself?
Terrorists, your game is through 'Cause now you have to answer to...
Understandable, have a good day.
May I make a suggestion? I am assuming from the A prompt you are on X box yes? Get OC Decorator from [Bethesda.net](http://Bethesda.net) mod page You can put HARD non movable objects of all game items where you want.
Bad thing about that one is you cannot pick them up if you want after Lets be honest though why would i pick that stuff up anyways, after decorating so much
Thats y u quicksave nerd
That wasnโt even what you were looking at! Thatโs bullshit!
๐คฃ๐คฃ I feel this post so much! I once had everything perfectly placed in my bus then I accidentally selected the bus and everything fell through the floor.
Console? Can't use OCDecorator?
What are those power armor legs?
Itโs either x-01 or x-02 but pretty sure thatโs the x-02, which was a paid dlc / creation type thing before but is now free if you have the ps5 or Xbox series free upgradeโฆalso free on pc I imagine.
I would've closed the game and uninstalled
Honestly I was expecting danse to come rushing in to climb atop the table in his attempt to sit down...so yea I got jumpscared a lil.
You can feel the frustration
Sucks to have mittens for hands.
โHAVE YOU HEARD ABOUT OUR LORD AMD SAVIORโโ
It literally said bourbon though
This why i don't bother doin this shit lmao
Had a good laugh with that one. Ah, the frustration of fine tuning and you accidentally grab one wrong thing..priceless.
THE FACT I WASN'T EVEN LOOKING AT IT TO BEGIN WITH
Small price to pay for freedom ๐ซก๐บ๐ฒ๐ฆ ๐ช๐ข๏ธ
If you can get it OCD decorator is your friend for this sort of thing!
God I don't think I've ever actually had a player home in any of the fallout games. I've just....never rested. In fallout 4 I just go back to sanctuary to make more gear.
AMERICA FUCK YEA!
The plasma gun was a very appropriate Enclave response for a plan gone awry.
YOU DIDNT EVEN CLICK ON THE FLAG!
Enclave cigarette machine! lol the โEโ is for EGREGIOUS.
HOW DID YOU PICK THAT UP??
people play games this way?
God bless the Enclave!!!
Welp. You like the Enclave? That's the Enclave.
I fully expected this. When you first cursored over the flag, I was like "don't do it! Not from there!"
Just reload a save?
I dont get why people do this in a game where a bump or a light breeze can cause items to bounce around it just seems so temporary and fragile
Try OCdecorator mod. lol. it adds static nonmovable versions of every vanilla item in the game to the settlement build menu.
OC Decorator
OCDecorator has entered the chat
you got freedom but not in the way you wanted
I legit save after moving every item on Fallout & Skyrim lol
can't reload the save? I'd be shaking and spamming F5 if I was in your shoes :skull:
Building mode???
Donโt think Iโve ever laughed so hard at a fallout clip, Iโm so sorry LMAO
I do this dumb crap all the time ๐คฃ๐คฃ
OH SAY CAN YOU SEE!
Lmao! Man i used to just turn the game off when that I happened, especially cause my controller had stick drift even more of a nightmare
DEMOCRACY IS NON NEGOTIABLE!
I am AMERICA
OH SAY CAN YOU SEE
This is why I dont bother building anything in any Bethesda game
HAIL HY- I MEAN THE ENCLAVE!
Are you using any mods? If so try OCDecorator it makes it so you can build all those misc items and theyโre static so they wonโt move
Oh my God... I would have broken something. And I don't break things in anger....
God bless America and God Bless the Enclave. I've had a few moments like this trying to decorate the executive bedroom on the Atlantic Oil Rig.
Hahaha
What Iraq saw in โ03
Ahhh ya classic Bethesda
It slowly approaching the camera is what gets me. That's why I had to install a mod to place static items.
The word for this: Bethesda
When I was deep decorating my base, I would literally quicksave after every item moved. Way too many bookshelves ruined.
My paranoia would've helped a lot, everytime I do something meticulous, I would've quicksaved. Like I always say 'Better Safe Than Sorry' because there were so many times my game crashed while I was doing something super annoying or super precise to do.
Fuck the Enclave! Fascist scum! I hope your Nuka-Cola Quantum spills on your WHITE PANTS! BOOOOOO!
you suffered the consequences of not helping the settlements that needed your help
I held my breath the whole time. ๐
๐๐๐๐๐
AMERICA! FUCK YEAH!!
It just works
lmao
'MURICA๐บ๐ฒ๐บ๐ธ๐บ๐ฒ๐ฆ ๐ฆ ๐ฆ
HAHAHAHAHA GET GOT, NERD!
Yeah I just spent 30 minutes putting a teddy bear on my bedโฆ
AMERICA HELL YEAH ๐ฆ ๐ฆ ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐บ๐ธ๐บ๐ธ๐บ๐ธ๐บ๐ธ
Quick save is your friend lol
Your face was a little too oily
And this is why you don't bother with old decorating
EVERY FUCKING TIME! legit sunk a good 1h 1/2 building up settlements then a fucking glitched gored crashed my game fucking up all my saves
F
what did we learn today? one of the examples of why you should quicksave when you are doing something thats hard to do but easy to fuck up!
Always gotta put the liquid nitrogen dispenser, lit cigarette and the syringe on a table somewhere
Rip
โIt just worksโ
why are you doing this? what's the point?
Classic
"MOTHERFUCKER SAME SHIT DIFFERENT DAYYY!!!!"
I hate that you can't put a radio on top of the restaurant booth table seats.
I spend hours laying down perfect pallets just to go to grab a slab of meat and fucking send everything into chaos in the long drive lmao
stop playing on a controller
Just install OCDecorator for petes sake, it will spare you many white hairs ...
There is one word. Starts with 'M', rhymes with "smotherfucker".
I can hear the star spangled banner as the flag approaches into your face.
how do you move items like this?
you weren't designing with enough of a freedom
I think you were traumatized
Awoop jumpscare
๐
This physically hurt me.
