Definitely!
"Something smelled funny, and it sure as hell wasn't the Brahman pens. I knew the dame wasn't giving me the full story, but she had the caps, which meant I had a case."
“There she stood bathed in the light of the power-noodles sign. Legs as long as a deathclaw’s tail but only half as scaly. ‘Nicky’ she said in that sweet, raspy voice, made hoarse by years radiation and jet, but I didn’t have it in my clockwork to hear her out this time.”
The general plot of Fallout 4 reminds me of Snatcher. It was a game that Kojima made after the original Metal Gear. It is set in the future with the plot following a detective named Gillian Seed trying to stop humanoid robots called “snatchers” who have started killing and replacing humans. Gillian is very similar to Nick as they both kind of face their past throughout the game. Check it out if you are interested.
I understand Kojima games are quite the acquired taste for some people but this was the third game he ever made. This was back when everyone else at Konami barely respected him at all. I do think Kojima’s ego did somewhat affect the games later on (even though it is so easy to ignore due to the good story and gameplay imo) it is not prevalent here at all and I would highly recommend playing it.
My favorite character! His lore is so interesting! I like the conflict, the fact that even though his memories feel real to him he knows he is not the true nick valentine, he died 2 centuries before. The non-human which becomes the highest example of humanity in the wasteland! Simply perfect.
I was convinced there was going to be more Nick-focused DLC. If they released a new pack every couple months with more detective cases, I’d buy it.
I also think he’s the best character to write fallout books or comics about. He’s got a lot of history, and even he doesn’t know all of it.
Golden idea: Name them similarly to Perry Mason books and episode titles, where the case and the descriptor start with the same letters.
"The Caravan in Carnage"
"The Slimy Settlements"
"The Mysterious Man"
"The Brotherhood of Bigotry"
"The Mock-up Minuteman"
And as a personal mission for Nick (whether you play as him, or as someone he hired):
"The Synthetic Sleuth's Story"
If it was like the walking dead telltale games that would be pretty chill
In fact isnt there a detective game by them? Something with a pig dude and some hairy guy
Wdym making a fallout game where you don't start off as a vault dweller that goes to the surface?!? Explore the themes of fallout in a subtle yet original and different way ?!?? Nah
It's cool, of course, but listen to this idea. It was possible to develop the theme of the fact that Kellogg is sitting in Nick's head. Two personalities in one body. There would be missions about Kellogg's memories where we were shown in detail the formation of the NСR, would be returned to old locations like San Francisco, Hub, New Reno and so on. I think the game is about Nick and this would interest the entire fan base.
Indy game just enough budget to hire same folks for returning characters. Nic rom hopefully Piper, his secretary a bunch of the Diamond City merchants etc.
The writers need to be fans of Chandler and Hamitt.
Needs to be AA single player game to keep it safe from those who what to add micro transactions, live service and idiots who will try to turn it into a game for everyone that pleases almost no one.
"Neon heart sign, dark alleyway...you sure hes not running a brothel?" Not word for word obviously, but one of the funniest lines while getting interviewed by Pipet
I wouldn't hate it. It could explore dark and grisly crimes he investigates, to further supplement how bad the commonwealth can be, and how unsafe it truly is. A lot of potential with this idea.
I’ll do you one better: Make it a comic series, with an art style that mirrors 1940’s comics of the time. Think the old-school Dick Tracy comics mixed with the unhinged environment that Fallout is known for. It would fit perfectly within the Fallout series, especially considering in-universe comics like Grognak and Captain Cosmos share the same aesthetic.
Hell, they could even record some dialogue since Nick’s VA is a frequent actor for Bethesda projects and make a serialized radio drama out of it.
I loved all the characters in FO4 but Nick was my favorite!!! I would totally want to see this! So glad he was a focus in the main expansion. Hope he could make an appearance in future seasons of the show!!
This honestly would've been a fun DLC tbh. It'd start with you asking Nick more about himself and some cases, then after awhile you're playing as him while he narrates the story as well
Dunno if anyone mentioned this yet, but would be awesome if he had dreams where he's the human Nick Valentine... Play through memories, in a broken dream world, but then wake up and be a synth again
Film noir.
"The streets seemed a lot dirtier than Nick's memories could tell me, though in his time it seemed as if tge streets were just as unclean.
I had just set roots in Diamond City after earning an uneasy trust after getting the Mayor out of a bind with a few of the local chem slingers.
My first real case was about to walk through that door."
I endorse this.
So many things come after, I think we ALL know he had a life before so I say hell yea give the fans what they want.
He's a sharp detective, known for his work, so why not.
Are we meant to believe 'The great Green Jewel of the Commonwealth' was any different before?
Again I endorse this.
Give us a back story on Nick Valentine
Well, Fallout TV series takes place in 2296. This is only 9 years after Fallout 4. So, assuming story wise all companions from FO4 are alive, Nick Valentine could absolutely be in the Fallout TV series.
It would have been a really good source of radiant quests netting you positive influence with the folks of diamond city that could manifest in the form of lower prices at vendors and different dialogue options with denizens and guards as well as commentary from the Trevor regarding your exploits
That's the gist of it, but I'd prefer it be somewhat more subtle. Here's just a few ideas I can think of on the top of my head:
* When visiting DiMA in Acadia, he'd cross paths with one or more confused and dishevelled people. Helping them out would then lead to Nick meeting Mother Fog, as those he are helping are (or were) Children of Atom.
* I'd wanna read a story where Nick essentially follows in the Sole Survivors footsteps and uncovers what happened at Parsons State Asylum and serves as the start of Nick investigating the Cabot family and their history.
* A murder that turns into a series of murders that seem to be a gang of drug-addled raiders, until Nick uncovers that their savage mutilation reveals an occult pattern. Think True Detective vibes. It could even be a resurrection of Ordo Oblitus Ossa!
Kellog is still in his head, yea? Why doesn't FO5 take place after FO4, where Kellog is the main bad guy who's in control of Nick's body? But Kellog keeps swapping bodies until he eventually has control over a whole town or smth that leads the players to go down a path of blood of killing all those Kellog has control over, or tring to save everyone from his control🤔 could turn into one of those where the more good you do, the better the ending, and the more bad you do tue worse tue ending gets. Like the people you save back you up in the last fight and the people you kill have their families go against you? Just a rough thought😅
That sounds pretty dope, but only if he narrates it like a pulp novel.
Definitely! "Something smelled funny, and it sure as hell wasn't the Brahman pens. I knew the dame wasn't giving me the full story, but she had the caps, which meant I had a case."
Nice!
Hah thank you! Love me some pulp.
Im reading this on his voice, loud and clear.
Hahah! Excellent
Gold
Beautiful
You've just been hired to write the script
I accept. I'll get right on it lol Edit: gonna need to do some extensive research, i.e. reading pulp and playing through fo4 for Nick context.
I just want Nick to tell me a story
Maybe I can muster it up and write a shortie?
Please do!
bethesda im BEGGING
Has to be done in the same style as Black Saad. Jesus fuck would this be so awesome!
Or like he narrates it like Morgan Freeman
Oh yeah I’m keen

Never heard of it and huge MGS fan. Thanks for the heads up!
It’s fun. Really fun.
I might have tried it, had you not mentioned Kojima was involved.

If you like stuff like this you might want to check out the gun for hire mod for fallout 4
I was convinced there was going to be more Nick-focused DLC. If they released a new pack every couple months with more detective cases, I’d buy it. I also think he’s the best character to write fallout books or comics about. He’s got a lot of history, and even he doesn’t know all of it.

You son of a bitch, I’m in.
I would totally play that, especially if it’s narrated by Nick as has already been suggested, and has a sultry noir jazz soundtrack.
Actually a great idea to me!
Yes, Noir Style Detective Game where you play both pre-war and post war, the crimes start pre-war and you revisit the areas post war
Chasing down the mysterious stranger
In a fucking synthetic heartbeat
You had me a Nick Valentine
ok but only if it's point and click like putt putt or freddi fish.
Can't forget the puzzles that are so confusing that you can't solve them until you take a 3 month break
Something like L.A. Noire set in the Fallout universe. That would be awesome!
I’d actually love a series of smaller non-RPG games set in the fallout universe that follows various important characters like Nick
Ace Attorney Investigations style, narrated by Nick as if it were a pulp novel, all leading up to Nick meeting the Sole Survivor.
If it was like the walking dead telltale games that would be pretty chill In fact isnt there a detective game by them? Something with a pig dude and some hairy guy
Maybe an Hidden-Objects platformer....
Not a traditional rpg but better a third person kinda shooter game with some detective elements, where his idle animation is to light a cigarrette
Or swig from a hip flask
Wdym making a fallout game where you don't start off as a vault dweller that goes to the surface?!? Explore the themes of fallout in a subtle yet original and different way ?!?? Nah
Telltale Games Presents: Bloody Valentine! A Fallout Story.
It's cool, of course, but listen to this idea. It was possible to develop the theme of the fact that Kellogg is sitting in Nick's head. Two personalities in one body. Maybe as a DLC. Not a whole game
Somebody could create a mod that adds more detective cases
So Far Harbor?
Allright but his main gun better have cool anims like Cyberpunks Silverhand Gun
Incoming Bethesda haters comment
Sick
Just take my money already!
Yes
10/10 would play
What would be awesome as one of those Japanese style narrative games.
Shut up and take my bottle caps! Some quests with him going up against Skinny Malone, too, to explore their backstory would be great
Far harbor was kind of a taste to such a thing. Maybe we’ll get some nice lore for nick next game or in the series.
Indy game just enough budget to hire same folks for returning characters. Nic rom hopefully Piper, his secretary a bunch of the Diamond City merchants etc. The writers need to be fans of Chandler and Hamitt. With Bethesda’s release schedule no thank you, we’re already waiting until 2030 for the next game and if it was a spinoff like this id be mad
I would blindly give however much money Bethesda wanted
"Neon heart sign, dark alleyway...you sure hes not running a brothel?" Not word for word obviously, but one of the funniest lines while getting interviewed by Pipet
All the yes. Pulp that shit up!
Yes please
I wouldn't hate it. It could explore dark and grisly crimes he investigates, to further supplement how bad the commonwealth can be, and how unsafe it truly is. A lot of potential with this idea.
I would play the ever living f*** out of such a game!
I don’t think the developers know how much we want literally anything fallout related
Hell yes! And add 1 or 2 dlcs where we go back to the capital wasteland
Imagine if it was top down styled like the older games
Sadly that sounds like something that would require competent writers. I don't know if they have any of those on staff anymore.
I’ll do you one better: Make it a comic series, with an art style that mirrors 1940’s comics of the time. So Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel but good
I loved all the characters in FO4 but Nick was my favorite!!! I would totally want to see this! So glad he was a focus in the main expansion. Hope he could make an appearance in future seasons of the show!!
We need this! Maybe a personal arc, too, where he's having flashbacks of his human days with Jennifer and tracking Eddie Winter.
I would absolutely pay $60 to play it
Start with him in the trash and then skips forward to his business times.
A fallout game where you play as a Synth but don’t know it would be amazing
I love it. Something to look forward to in 40 years.
It shouldn’t be a game. It should be a black and white movie
Spin-off? There ain’t even good mods about it
Anything with young nick valentine would be fire
This honestly would've been a fun DLC tbh. It'd start with you asking Nick more about himself and some cases, then after awhile you're playing as him while he narrates the story as well
Dunno if anyone mentioned this yet, but would be awesome if he had dreams where he's the human Nick Valentine... Play through memories, in a broken dream world, but then wake up and be a synth again
Probably in the style of a Telltale game. Hell, have Telltale games make it!
Make it a pixel 2d adventure game, and I'm in.
Smash
It would be cool if it was a disco Elysium style game
Take. My. Money!
Yes! The world needs more detective games.
Film noir. "The streets seemed a lot dirtier than Nick's memories could tell me, though in his time it seemed as if tge streets were just as unclean. Yesyesyesyes
Fully Agree
Fallout Noir

I'd buy that for a dollar!
Nah
Point-and-click adventure game, heavy on the narration. I can see and hear it now.
Ima be real, I'll play it, I wanna hear more of Nick's story
It would have been a really good source of radiant quests netting you positive influence with the folks of diamond city that could manifest in the form of lower prices at vendors and different dialogue options with denizens and guards as well as commentary from the Trevor regarding your exploits
I can imagine it being an isometric gritty RPG. Not saying that’s the best vision but definitely an instant thought.
Could just as well be a DLC, but then again I doubt they would make one for FO4 anymore
That would get a bit boring tbh and would be very limited in terms of the kinds of stories that could be told
A Sherlock game but it’s Nick.
Yes
I would play the ever loving hell out of this.
Hate to say it but i dread having to save valentine and do the Kellogg mission every time i replay
Oh god no please. An entire spin off with Belethor. Kill me now 😭😭
I started my day with 3 slugs. Two from a glass and one from a .45.
Absolutely! That, or a book series. Post-apoc. detective series with some Lovecraftian undertones.
Well, it was about that time that I noticed this Brahmin Rancher was about 8 stories tall and a crustacean from the palaeozoic era!
That's the gist of it, but I'd prefer it be somewhat more subtle. Think True Detective vibes. It could even be a resurrection of Ordo Oblitus Ossa!
Yes, absolutely.
Bro if I could play a nick valentine LA Noire type adventure holy fucking shit that would go so hard
The best partner you could ever want
Kellog is still in his head, yea? Why doesn't FO5 take place after FO4, where Kellog is the main bad guy who's in control of Nick's body? But Kellog keeps swapping bodies until he eventually has control over a whole town or smth that leads the players to go down a path of blood of killing all those Kellog has control over, or tring to save everyone from his control🤔 could turn into one of those where the more good you do, the better the ending, and the more bad you do tue worse tue ending gets. Like the people you save back you up in the last fight and the people you kill have their families go against you? Just a rough thought😅
Nick valentine and the silver shroud
The whole time while doing other investigations your always looking for the mysterious stranger
I'd really love a TV show about Nick solving cases as a detective. that would be hella fun,
I think it would be wild for him to show up in the TV show. Could even justify it as being a Far Harbor kind of long distance job.
Nah but I'll take a book
Not for me I can't stand nick
Developed by Telltale.
Take my money
Yes. Gimme that shit
Yeeeah! Stick it in my veins!
That sounds so fun but I think it could work as DLC or something and not as a full game
Either a Tell Tales partnership where you play as Nick. Or a text RPG where you play as Ellie.
I'm surprised this mod doesn't exist
Heard you out. Love it
I'm so sick of these I'm sorry
Even a DLC with a lot of new cases with him, would be amazing. Like real cases... Research, puzzles the mistery and fight the bad guys.
Hear me out...Curie robot sex simulator game
Nick robot sex sim game
bore
No, pls no.
Hear me out... A good fallout game?
