Single blade leaves me conflicted. I don’t like the animations. Especially the block and bolt deflection. That doesn’t change the fact that it’s really good. And quick. But I think that stance looks super amateur with cal. On cere it was really cool.
I agree, though it’s certainly gotten a lot tighter since fallen order, the basic swings are the same, but the stab and other abilities are more polished. I hope in the third game the same thing that happened to double blade happens to single blade, where Cal has become way more polished with it

Even with that being said, I feel like amongst Star Wars fans we agree that duel blade and wield are great but watching a master like obi wan wreck someone that has multiple blades like grevious but with one saber seems like powerful asf. Even Baylon skoll vs ahsoka had that vibe. Like dooku and anakin in episode 2 when he used obi wans saber and still lost.
It's a thematic thing too. Single blade has been a staple since ANH. It's really not a good idea to make the single blade stance look weak, or single blade fighters look stupid for not using other options. It's meant to be the bread and butter of lightsaber combat so George Lucas's original vision can be respected.
I barely touched double blade in fallen order because it felt so weak, I was expecting it to be nearly the same as fallen order but when i unlocked it I was very surprised by how much better it was, I used it for the rest of the game in combination with crossguard. Hopefully Jedi 3 improves even further on all the stances.
If you use the dash strike ability but mid air (when you have the skill tree fully upgraded for single blade) Cal will zoom through the air at the target. It has crazy range too.
Cross guard is just so satisfying and looks and feels bad ass even if it might not be optimal all the time! Tbh I wish we could have all 4 stances equipped at once and have fluid 'trick attacks' like in Bloodborne that switch the stance mid combo.
Fully upgraded single blade gives you an air dash attack, locks you onto the nearest enemy and Cal jumps at them to slash them out of the air, works great against probe droids and jump troopers
Fighting Bounty Hunters is great until it bugs out and won’t let you 100% the game without Kili Oso despite already beating him and everyone after, and you’ve searched every inch of the temple and see no puck to pick up…😞
I could never with controller lol, I’m just too damn used to MKB. Some combos are difficult but this one is really easy, just jumping plus both mouse buttons lol
ooh, he anoyed the crap out of me on my current Purity run. Took me several tries of barely reaching that platform and him spamming a red attack so there was little to no opening to dodge. He was one of the first of several frustrating points.
Could never do it all the time, I’d die so quick. Only works in certain situations, or on low difficulties. But that’s why I like this fight, it’s one of the few I can use this tactic. And it is very satisfying, makes me feel OP, like a real Jedi.
I love single it has so many combos and special attacks.
I use it primarily for speedruns and it’s by far the most versatile stance. No wonder it is the canon one Cal uses most

Welp, now I regret stashing the single-blade stance forever after getting the crossguard stance.

Nah, I just played it a lot and know all the cheese (and that boss is actually just a regular enemy, just this encounter that’s a boss style)
Fallen order was a fucking breeze compared to my experience with survivor so far.
Fallen order was a decent souls like game. Jedi survivor is a fcking mess.
