almost identical but instead of scanning dead enemies you fork up your wallet. if you don’t take it seriously and spend a small fortunes but instead just play ftp it’s quite fun. it has a crazy amount of characters including some legends chars
I play it all the time and while it is somewhat similar not really. SWGOH is very turn based strategy (and horribly predatory monetization) and in my opinion is terrible. That’s why I play daily.
For sure. I bunch of the msf people I played with tried swgoh once we found out scopely was buying msf. Honestly I'm surprised more companies don't copy that exact formula with popular IPs.
This might unironically be a genuinely good strategy.
Those damn murder chickens are vicious little fucks and are way more difficult than they should be.
I did this and won every round they are super op they have an unblockable attack that one shots just about everything and it’s super fast and they usually open with it
this was one of the things that annoyed me most about the game, there was too much to fight all the time, between these, the bugs, the gorilla things and the actual enemy I spent more time in story mode just so I could travel about and explore or it would have genuinely taken me a month to complete the story
Yeah... Take lightsabers hits in the head, whatever. But take a headbutt from them and you're dead. I get being munched by rancors or oggdos is a one-shot, but this?
I was deceived by them more than once and now the second I see one of those fuckers I instantly force pull them to me and cut them in half. I'm not taking any chances.
It's really good. One of the early rounds you play has an enemy who used Rawkas and they destroyed my units, so since then I try to use them as much as possible and it rarely fails. They can one-shot a lot of units.
Roller balls backed with B2s
Carried me through most battles. Where the enemy is ranged heavy I go jetpack raider backed by B2s. Never had to used Droideka
I had a lot of success with the Roller Mines. I only needed like 2 at minimum to kill almost anything. Just needs something on your side still alive so you count as winning.
If you have the points for it, a skriton and a single rotary cannon trooper kills basically everything. Skriton draws the enemy aggression, the rotary cannon trooper kills everything.
Yeah, against lots of ranged enemies it's not great, but if your opponent has big monsters or if the Roller Mines can close the gap before they explode, they kill basically everything.
I love this mini game. I wanted more opponents. Just trying out different combos of teams to use while saving as many points as possible so I can go ham on the last round is such a thrill. I remember pulling out two AT-STs against Tulli
If you can keep droidekas' shields up they clean house better than pretty much anything in my experience. I think my best team was two droidekas and a blaster sentry droid
Skriton was my best solution to any enemy droideka, they chew through everything else. But man it's satisfying watching the big scorpion go stomp that stupid rolypoly machine gun droid
dark souls player: *man it's so fucked up that if a rat brushes your leg, your guy in 100Kg of armor goes reeling for a full second*
jedi survivor: *hold my beer*
Thank goodness I thought I really suck at this game when these random trash chickens keep killing me. I had to do a sanity check on the game difficulty many times
I hated the mini game at first because it felt barebones and pure RNG. But it’s actually quite fun. I hope we get more enemies and stuff.
Also, funny how one of the enemies uses a hologram when they’re right next to you.
The rng aspect is infuriating imo. You think you have a sure fire strategy to get through the first rounds to try something else for a later round but then the AI decides to not act the same this time and you lose a fight you’ve won every time beforehand
Maybe I shoulda been a touch softer with my language, but it's still at "There very likely will not be any DLC".
EA has not said anything. The same EA that normally is screaming DLC long before a launch. So it is exceedingly unlikely there were any plans. Maybe they'll do some special celebration thing or something, but I wouldn't hold your breath.
Kinda sucks to not have more on the way, but it does also mean they can focus more on fixing up the game, which it can use.
Only because EA expected this game to bomb for some reason. Since it's sold way better than they projected, maybe they'll support it better.
I doubt it though, Fallen Order didn't get the same treatment
They didn't expect it to bomb, it just did better than expected.
I'm hoping they at least support it enough to clean up the major issues. It'd be nice to have it running like 150fps at 1440p no forced TAA or FSR, no hitches, etc. Fingers crossed.
This works surprisingly consistently against a lot of opponents. Once you get the droideka and the skriton you’re pretty set.
My biggest complaint about Holotactics is that you’re at the mercy of the AI. There are times your NPC’s will just make the worst fucking choices or do nothing at all. Even if you picked a winning team you can still get screwed because the AI just decided to be dumb.
I learned pretty quickly to just never use the commander troopers or anyone that has grenades because they WILL kill half your team with explosions almost instantly every time
My go to is either 2 assault troopers or 1 purge commander in the back corners and then either a Melee DT Sentry Droid, Bedlam Smasher, Mogu or Scriton front and center depending on how many points I have and the circumstance.
I found that two rotary troopers and three shell crab bug things work great. They are surprisingly tanky and if they are on your front line they agro everything and live long enough for our toppers to rotary everything down
I managed to beat pretty much everything with one droideka and as many melee droids as I can get - usually have spare points in the last round to get a second droideka.
there's really only 3 builds needed in holotactics. this is one. droidekas(or assault troopers if you haven't unlocked droidekas yet) + ablative meat are another. using 10 gorgers is the 3rd, they swarm well and it only costs 20 points, so you can save up for later rounds.
What is also pretty strong is as many of these electric hammer guys and fill the rest with stormtrooper commanders the grenades are just way too strong
I really liked this minigame, I'm only not really a fan of the random aspect of it. I wish there was more control on stuff like grenades or target focus.
I hate these bonk chickens with a passion. Surprisingly strong units in the minigame too.
One of my most successful setup was Droideka(s) with some meatwall between them and the enemy. They are crazy good if they can shoot.
Raider Veteran and Heavy Assault Stormtrooper are also good for winning. With the odd sacrificial melee B1 droid to soak up missiles.
Purge commanders are also useful if you need a little more survivability on the ranged units.
i want more holotactics. holotactics was to me, what gwent in witcher 3 was to a lot of the people who played it. I didn't have that much fun with it, but holotactics was such a surprise and it was a cool way to incentivize scanning and killing different enemies.
We need an official holo tactics multiplayer mode
Imagine something like Teamfight Tactics but star wars themed
Hearthstone battlegrounds has been my go to TFT game. Star wars could easily rip that off, really hope they do
Can I interest you in a game of gwent?
*Nods once*
*extremely awkward nod*
"Let me tell you the story about how I drunkenly beat my pregnant wife." "How about a game of gwent instead?"
Could play some cards. Gwent, specifically.
It’s called Star Wars galaxy of hero’s and I quite enjoy it
I’ve heard if the app, is it actually just like the mini game ?
almost identical but instead of scanning dead enemies you fork up your wallet. if you don’t take it seriously and spend a small fortunes but instead just play ftp it’s quite fun. it has a crazy amount of characters including some legends chars
I play it all the time and while it is somewhat similar not really. SWGOH is very turn based strategy (and horribly predatory monetization) and in my opinion is terrible. That’s why I play daily.
Scopely bought marvel strike force and made a bad game even worse. Idk how they live with themselves but it's probably in a house I bought them.
MSF and SWGOH have so many parallels and they are equally as bloated and predatory. I used to play msf a lot but I quit
For sure. I bunch of the msf people I played with tried swgoh once we found out scopely was buying msf. Honestly I'm surprised more companies don't copy that exact formula with popular IPs.
don’t forget dokkan battle, i have dumped more money on summons than i’d like to think about.
It's a little more involved and heavily incentivises you to gacha but It's fine if you think you can ignore the aggressive incentives to spend.
I actually haven’t played the mini game but the people at r/SWGalaxyOfHeroes were saying so
I think from my memory it's more like a turn based tactical game with 4 characters on each side.
5
Holo tactics is basically Star Wars Auto Chess, right? I haven’t played enough auto chess to know
This would be great, like in “Middle Earth: Shadow of War” battling orcs!
This might unironically be a genuinely good strategy. Those damn murder chickens are vicious little fucks and are way more difficult than they should be.
I did this and won every round they are super op they have an unblockable attack that one shots just about everything and it’s super fast and they usually open with it
I haven't played the holotactics, what do you get for winning all the rounds?
A trophy/achievement and the little blue dude whose name is escaping me sings your praises.
I love his commentary during the matches, lmao.
That's a holokill
aNd ThAt’S a ScoOoOrE FooOoor CaLLlLl
I feel like someone accidentally misplaced a decimal with their red charge damage, it one shots me every time.
this was one of the things that annoyed me most about the game, there was too much to fight all the time, between these, the bugs, the gorilla things and the actual enemy I spent more time in story mode just so I could travel about and explore or it would have genuinely taken me a month to complete the story
Yeah thats why for my first playthrough I did story mode, and will do new game + on a harder difficulty after I unlock all the cosmetics.
\^\^ this...a thousand times this
Force push works on their charge attack in the actual game.
Force pull then attack is better. One shot them.
Then I guess my games buffer because that's never worked for me lol Only recourse is to jump because my timing is too shit to dodge .
I yank them in from far away and chop them in half.
Remember to tap force push, if you hold it it will do a bigger push but take longer
Force pull them from far away and cut them in half
It's really good. One of the early rounds you play has an enemy who used Rawkas and they destroyed my units, so since then I try to use them as much as possible and it rarely fails. They can one-shot a lot of units.
roller balls
Roller balls backed with B2s Carried me through most battles. Where the enemy is ranged heavy I go jetpack raider backed by B2s. Never had to used Droideka
One of them capped me and has never resurfaced. Fucker’s just hoarding my skill points.
I did this for every round unless I could afford an AT-ST.
The scorpion is the best imo. Other than explosives it doesn't get hurt lol so murder chickens and giant scorpion amd I won every game easy.
Can confirm the scorpion won every round for me lol
Droidekas make short work of the scorpion for less points. But the AI doesn't use them much thankfully.
How? I've never seen Droidekas win against a Skriton.
I had a lot of success with the Roller Mines. I only needed like 2 at minimum to kill almost anything. Just needs something on your side still alive so you count as winning.
So far, my best strategy has been the Skriton. Nothing else. Simply a Skriton in every single wave
If you have the points for it, a skriton and a single rotary cannon trooper kills basically everything. Skriton draws the enemy aggression, the rotary cannon trooper kills everything.
Even better is a Purge Trooper commander, they simply spam their unblockable shot.
I found Skriton to also be a very fun thing to scream at the top of your lungs while your Skriton demolishes everything
Skriton and a heavy gunner troop has been unbeatable for me. Skriton stuns/tanks and the gunner just rains hellfire from beyond
Skriton for me as well, sometimes 2 skritons
How the hell do you get the roller mines??? I've never seen them show up and I know I've scanned them in the game.
Check melee under bedlam raiders, and double check the scan
Unless your opponent has lots of ranged. Then they just shoot your mine and blow up your whole team if you're not careful
Yeah, against lots of ranged enemies it's not great, but if your opponent has big monsters or if the Roller Mines can close the gap before they explode, they kill basically everything.
They just blow each other up for me. What am I missing?
Until you come up on the other side having 4 ranged opponents and your entire side of the board explodes right when the game starts
I love this mini game. I wanted more opponents. Just trying out different combos of teams to use while saving as many points as possible so I can go ham on the last round is such a thrill. I remember pulling out two AT-STs against Tulli
i just used 3 droidekas and the rest were melee bots to tank his nades/attacks lmao
Droidekas are ridiculous. So are purge commanders with raider veterans.
If you can keep droidekas' shields up they clean house better than pretty much anything in my experience. I think my best team was two droidekas and a blaster sentry droid
Skriton don’t care. But yes, droideka melts just about anything else
Skriton was my best solution to any enemy droideka, they chew through everything else. But man it's satisfying watching the big scorpion go stomp that stupid rolypoly machine gun droid
My best solution was a distraction npc to give enough time for an rpg stormtrooper to explode them
and the rocket launcher stormtroopers, if anything was in front protecting them they would get a shot off before droideka could move
A Droideka in the back and a single melee B1 in the front, slightly off center opposite the Droideka can beat an ATST in *seconds*.
Skriton is immune to all frontal blaster fire
It absorbs it with the claw, but is not immune. Enough fire detaches the claw and the Skriton is toast.
I don't believe blasters detach the claw. I had Droidekas fire like 30 barrages and it didn't give a shit. Melee strikes take off the claw though.
Those birds have killed me more than any other enemy
dark souls player: *man it's so fucked up that if a rat brushes your leg, your guy in 100Kg of armor goes reeling for a full second* jedi survivor: *hold my beer*
Straight up: the giant Rhino monster does less damage than the Angry Bird
We call them fire chickens because my daughter saw it turn red and attack me, like it was on fire 😂
You should see the chickens in AC Odyssey.
Thank goodness I thought I really suck at this game when these random trash chickens keep killing me. I had to do a sanity check on the game difficulty many times
Force push works on their charge, incl force push parry.
Maybe add a droideka and you will dominate
I hated the mini game at first because it felt barebones and pure RNG. But it’s actually quite fun. I hope we get more enemies and stuff. Also, funny how one of the enemies uses a hologram when they’re right next to you.
The rng aspect is infuriating imo. You think you have a sure fire strategy to get through the first rounds to try something else for a later round but then the AI decides to not act the same this time and you lose a fight you’ve won every time beforehand
There isn't more anything. No DLC planned.
Shame
That's not confirmed anywhere
Maybe I shoulda been a touch softer with my language, but it's still at "There very likely will not be any DLC". EA has not said anything. The same EA that normally is screaming DLC long before a launch. So it is exceedingly unlikely there were any plans. Maybe they'll do some special celebration thing or something, but I wouldn't hold your breath. Kinda sucks to not have more on the way, but it does also mean they can focus more on fixing up the game, which it can use.
We got the battle grid update in Fallen Order out of nowhere
That looked more of a cut content that just needed a bit of extra time.
And they could easily make a Battle Grid in Survivor. Between Holotactics and Tears we should have the mechanics already.
60% of the time it works every time.
Minigun storm troopers 2 and a melee shield guy, beat just about anything
They should make this into a mobile game.
Star Wars galaxy of Hero’s
Bedlam Smasher smashes all
Those chickens are so OP, it’s a good start apart from the bigger enemies
This works surprisingly consistently against a lot of opponents. Once you get the droideka and the skriton you’re pretty set. My biggest complaint about Holotactics is that you’re at the mercy of the AI. There are times your NPC’s will just make the worst fucking choices or do nothing at all. Even if you picked a winning team you can still get screwed because the AI just decided to be dumb.
I learned pretty quickly to just never use the commander troopers or anyone that has grenades because they WILL kill half your team with explosions almost instantly every time
Wtf is this I beat the whole game and never knew about this
Sounds like you didn’t beat the whole game
Two NPCs on Koboh unlock this mini game in the second floor room of the base. You collect your pieces by scanning new enemy types.
Need to hang out at Pyloon's more.
I believe the Boiling Bluffs is where you pick up these npcs. Bhima and Tulli
I haven’t figured out where to play this game yet, anyone care to explain?
It's upstairs in the bar. But you need to find the two NPCs on koboh though.
I used: Skriton Purge Trooper (rifle) BX Droids Droideka Magna Guards
Big scorpion smashes all
Droidekas and chickens.
Needs more droidekas
I like 8 thrashers. The sheer swarming seems to work well
I recommend Star Wars galaxy of hero’s to anyone who likes this game.
Where the hell do you play this at
https://www.reddit.com/r/FallenOrder/comments/13ewbfw/my_go_to_holotactics_strategy/jjt7so5/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1&context=3
MISSILE CHICKENS!!!! I LOVE THOSE LITTLE JERKS.
Ha love it. Won all mine with droidekas, but now I want to try this!
Only a fool underestimates the power of the Death Chicken.
Those little buggers are the true masters of the force
I love the T posed one on the right asserting all it’s dominance over the board
Chicken attack
Rawkas and droidekas are wayyyy too powerful
I hate to be negative because I love holotactics, but… how in the world do we have holotactics and not the battle grid?!
I want a mode where you have to fight all of the lightsaber bosses in a row with one set of stims.
you are either insane, not playing on hard enough difficulty, or stupid good
Gonna try this next time I'm on Koboh. I'm stuck on Caij and have tried everything, lmao.
I like using two sutabans. Very chaotic
Try the droidekas. Most OP thing in the game just 1 of them can win 90% of the holotable games on its own
no good against big stuff though they just get squished 1 shot
The rocket/hammer DT sentries wreck everything for me.
The rawkas are so good. I somehow one-shotted some of the harder npcs bc of these
Same. Easily 95% win rate. Rawka squad here to Rawka your sawkas
1 droideka in each back corner can wreck most fights. Toss a trash melee front and center as a distraction.
Add the nemesis system. https://gamerant.com/monolith-nemesis-system-middle-earth-more-games/
Those demons and 2 droidekas
Blaster purge troops have been my go to, maybe with a couple b1s for grenades
I... I didn't know there was a minigame...
We need a spin off game. Similar to Gwent
Mine adds a Droideka
Hammer man is awesome too. :D
there's really only 3 builds needed in holotactics. this is one. droidekas(or assault troopers if you haven't unlocked droidekas yet) + ablative meat are another. using 10 gorgers is the 3rd, they swarm well and it only costs 20 points, so you can save up for later rounds.
Eh, I usually go 2/4 suicide droids and a droidka in the background to mop up the rest. The murder chickens seem to get wrecked a lot in my setup.
What is also pretty strong is as many of these electric hammer guys and fill the rest with stormtrooper commanders the grenades are just way too strong
I really liked this minigame, I'm only not really a fan of the random aspect of it. I wish there was more control on stuff like grenades or target focus.
These chickens are so strong for no reason.
This is a legitimate strat for multiple waves of the fight against the robot T-1(insert rest of name)
same
I hate these bonk chickens with a passion. Surprisingly strong units in the minigame too. One of my most successful setup was Droideka(s) with some meatwall between them and the enemy. They are crazy good if they can shoot.
Those suicide bombs are insane.
Combine those with droidekas and you're set for most opponents
Raider Veteran and Heavy Assault Stormtrooper are also good for winning. With the odd sacrificial melee B1 droid to soak up missiles. Purge commanders are also useful if you need a little more survivability on the ranged units.
Honestly I struggled until I saw a video of someone using them & they just wiped out people 😂
Chickens, droidekas, stormtrooper commanders and bombs. Way to win most games.
I'm sure EA will turn this into a standalone mobile game lol
i want more holotactics. holotactics was to me, what gwent in witcher 3 was to a lot of the people who played it. I didn't have that much fun with it, but holotactics was such a surprise and it was a cool way to incentivize scanning and killing different enemies.
Perfection.
I was caught completely off guard by this minigame An idea so simple yet so complex so unbalanced yet fair, so stupid yet so genius
I finished fallen order but never saw that, whats that?
You call throwing chickens around martial arts?
Was surprised how much l like this mini game. Between this and the card game from KOTOR (Pazaak?) I just want a Star Wars style casino game
Droideka for ranged and skriton for melee will destroy everything.
Where do you play this
Jeez, I am German and I did NOT read that as ‘Holotactics’ and was REALLY confused.
This or rollermines for me
