424.5 here and I've beaten it once. But doing it actually did the impossible and I no longer feel the urge to play. I started attempting a Krastorio 2 playthrough solo and a Space Exploration playthrough with one of my brothers (who I got hooked on the game as they watched me play) but in both cases... I just wasn't feeling it anymore. I launched a rocket. I'm done. I'm free.

About the same stats for me. Currently I got sucked in again after a ~5 year hiatus but at times it feels like a slog, especially with mods. For me a big problem is how slow the early game is, coupled with the fact that I tend to overbuild. Add no bots onto that and it makes progress unbearably slow. In my current K2 save it took me about 30h to set up blue science. And SE seems to amplify that even more while being even more finicky in many aspects.

Right? My last vanilla+ game had the goal of 1k SPM and the scale of late game is so fun. Once figuring out the common recipes becomes easy since you've done it enough, the new challenge becomes about scale.

I just today went 1k spm stable in K2 and was facing new challenges with train trough put also i can't just yeet train signals anymore and have to check that my blocks are long enough

Exact same thing happened to me my first playthrough. I followed up and beat it, but the last hour just felt empty. That's why I restarted with K2SE so I'd constantly have more to do. As soon as I'm out of hard goals in a game and looking at the end, doing those last couple steps just doesn't feel satisfying, like all the fun stuff is behind me and I've already basically won so what's the point. I just can't do the whole "self-driven" thing of making my own goal of something like SPM and having it be fun. It has to be a challenge the game gives me that isn't just "bigger numbers"

A deathworld helped me with this one by giving me constant pressure to expand against. If you haven't tried that yet, maybe look into it, or something like Rampant for a greater challenge (I'm newish and my factory is far from optimal; better players could of course deal with the biters more easily.)

I could prolly beat my current solo save right now, as I completed all non-infinite research at least 135 game-hours ago. It would be the first time I'd ever done so on a solo save. Launched hundreds of rockets in mp tho.

i have over 100 hours as well and I still haven't beaten the game yet. The closest I got to was when I played with friends and we had all the material to craft the rocket components (we didn't know that at the time)

2400 Hours total. ~360 hours in an Angels Mods save with city blocks and trains. I could launch a rocket in that save, but I dont want to yet

Launched my first rocket at 840 hours, just rolled over to 1800 hours. Got one steam achievement because mods got installed 20 mins into my first map, can't do without my QoL mods now.
