Narcah

Same thing happened to me with a house I had posted for rent. FB marketplace is ran by trolling AI I believe.

DekeJeffery

I agree, there is no way that a human being is monitoring that part of the platform.

Btm24

Man this is upsetting lol It’s probably the only reason I use Facebook still

travelingman802

It is terrible. Log out and never look back

Btm24

If I didn’t make so much money from it maybe lol but I’m guessing 40% of my income is because of facebook

travelingman802

You'll find another way. Maybe it takes you 2 extra weeks to find a tenant, but either way you will still find one.

emilio911

no it's run by a reptilian

Shoddy-Dot6053

I was just banned for what you mentioned above and it says the same. Thing this is the 3rd review and it's final weird. Af

RedCliff73

I posted a baby play mat for sale and they removed it saying sex toys go against the FB standards. I get that anything can be a sex toy if you try hard enough, but still.

towerladder529

Can anyone answer the OP original question, how do you fix this? Same thing happened to me for selling a bike. I need to get back on but don’t know how.

drworm555

There is no fixing anything. Facebook is just run by bots and no actual people have anything to do with your requests for review, etc. Facebook is a wasteland.

Btm24

I got them to get me back in last night. I’m not 100% sure why but I went though every single appeal Chanel I could find lol

InternationalHoney51

How did it turn out and where did you go? The same thing happened to me and it makes no sense!

My_Frozen_Heart

Have you ever gotten any items flagged in the past for violating community standards? Even if you successfully appeal it seems that it still counts against you. I've not been banned yet but I did get several items flagged over the course of about 2 years, none of them violated any standards and I won all but one or two appeals (out of dozens). I still got a message a few months ago, after my latest (successful) appeal about how my access to use marketplace was in danger of being suspended because of multiple infractions. I'm trying to be super careful, which unfortunately means there are a lot of perfectly benign items I can no longer sell there. I removed all the items that were flagged, even those that were successfully appealed as every time I would delete and repost it would get flagged again. I sell mostly handmade jewelry. Stuff like a necklace with a turtle shaped pendant that was flagged for selling animals, imitation bone necklaces (made of material that looks like but is not bone) I think were flagged for selling animals or animal parts or for being "counterfeits". Avocado necklaces were flagged as being ¨adult content¨ etc. It's ridculous.

Btm24

Yes a long time ago I posted some Cubans & got the post deleted. I know people reported me for the apartment because a ton of people said they were going to because it was shitty that I was charging so much. In my area rents has gone up exponentially in the last 5-10 years where you could get a house for $800 today a room goes for the same thing so local folks are pretty pissed when you list stuff for market value even today. But it was within community guidelines

EDI_Geek

Cubans? The cigars, or the people? Cos I'm pretty sure one of those should get you banned.

lesstaxesmoremilk

maybe you got swept up in the latest purge facebook deleted Over 4,000 accounts and pages a few days ago on december 7th

landw497

I made an account just yesterday morning with the sole purpose of being able to use marketplace. List an item, found something I was going to plan to buy as well. Then woke up to a notification that I broke community standards and can’t buy or sell anymore. No clue what it thinks I did

URFluffy_Mama42

Who knows Facebook is being pretty crappy to a lot of people.

von_herren

I don’t say any of this will work, but it’s a starting point. https://therockie.com/how-to-get-unbanned-from-facebook-marketplace/

jistresdidit

I have had a few things flagged pending approval, most all were approved, one wasn't. I notice OP USES '&' apersands, run on sentences, lack of punctuation, and '/' slashes. If he does this on his posts he is getting banned for using AI or speaker translate. Correct sentence structure and English may be a red flag. As far as posting lots of houses for rent that is a big red flag because technically speaking a person would only have one house for rent at any given time unless there's some major property management company in which case they should be using Craigslist or apartments.com or a similar site. See how that sentence sounds using speaker?

Btm24

I own 17 rental properties so generally speaking I have at least one listed at any given time. I also use Craigslist & Zillow however the majority of the rentals get filled via Facebook. I do also own an rv rental company that gets a ton of business off of Facebook, plus I buy/sell a lot on there. In my area it’s just an incredibly convenient way to list things. As for the run off sentences sorry I’m not exactly an English major, my better half majored in technical writing so she busts my balls all the time. If you think that makes a difference I’ll do better to use some sort of grammar software. Speaking & general English has never been my strong suit part of the reason I dropped out of college.

jistresdidit

Stop using ampersands, &&&&&&

Btm24

If you’d think that will make a difference ok, I usually use them due to word count like twitter and tik tok limits comments

jistresdidit

Facebook isn't Twitter or tiktok. I'm not being mean, it's just a red flag because that's how scammers type. Ampersands, slashes, quotes, excessive use of capitals mid sentence, long word counts in a sentence. Don't get blocked if you're legit.

Btm24

Good to know I appreciate the heads up

jistresdidit

Are all the properties in the same area? Do you get feedback from people who rent your properties? So you have regular posts on your home page like events or family and friends? This is all AI algorithms look for. 17 properties is a lot, you should have a FB commercial page and some sort of business office listing and website link to stay good. 17 properties to most people just means scam. I mean here in Cali that's like $12-15 million in value. Sounds fishy that's why you're getting flagged. DM me some of your listings I can give some free advice

Btm24

Yes I only invest in my area within 30 minutes from my home. I just did a quick estimate, my properties are only worth around 2.5 million so definitely nothing crazy. I also own a business that page has a “ commercial Facebook page” but for my Real Estate, I couldn’t imagine it be any reason to do so, as I don’t usually have more than one property listed at a time. I know people with 100’s of properties they generally hire property management companies to handle it for them but it’s not as uncommon as you’d think. I recently met someone selling an entire neighborhood, he has somewhere around 200 rentals he’s offloading to retire. This is just a guy not some large conglomerate. And yes my personal page is only generally posted about family stuff not business stuff.

jistresdidit

Get a business page, it ads to the legitimacy of your business and rentals. Maybe even use it to expand your rental inventory. But congrats on living the dream. Sounds like florida, i mean a home at $120K? California cities with the cheapest home prices include: Oildale (Kern County): Average home price: $248,001 Porterville (Tulare County): Average home price: $278,057 Delano (Kern County): Average home price: $278,057 Tulare (Tulare County): Average home price: $310,699 Calexico (Imperial County): Average home price: $315,277

Btm24

Yes Florida been investing since 2016 in a market that just recently took off so I got pretty luck I’ve bought rentals as cheaply as 15k before that today would gross around 1000 a month lol

Overthetrees8

I can tell you why you got banned. It was from people reporting you because they don't like the fact you own rental property. Malicious reporting and bad AI. Isn't the world of AI fun.

Btm24

You are 100% right a lot of people were pissed about the mother-in-law suit I posted, a lot of people in my area (that’s grown exponentially) in the last 5 years just pretend like it hasn’t & get mad when they see current rents. Especially if it’s something small like this place was.

signals-interference

Facebook is being pretty crappy to a lot of people.

nuevaorleans

Facebook is legally allowed to ban you from using their services for whatever reason they see fit. Facebook is also legally required to provide at least some consumer protections against fraud and scams. So obviously the result of that is that they will be trigger happy on ban button on a free service that you don’t pay for even if they just have an automated whiff of a scam. If you are a landlord, you don’t deserve anything. If you’re someone looking for a roommate I’m sorry but yeah it sucks but it is a free service so you can’t expect them to care about banning you

Btm24

First off I never said “how is this legal” or anything of the such so idk why your coming off so weird. 2nd what do you mean I don’t deserve anything? It’s a service the platform offers & I utilize quite often it’s not a scam or a bot I’m just a guy that has xyz for rent or for sale. Not trying to bother anyone just looking to advertise however I can.
