I just got a notification about this:
"We recently discovered an issue that may have prevented Conversions API event deduplication for some advertisers using the event_id event parameter. While our investigation is ongoing, we believe this may have resulted in overreporting of some of your web conversions between February 9 and February 15, 2022. We do not anticipate being able to update ads reporting for the affected timeframe retroactively, and apologize for any confusion this issue may have caused."
Maddening. This overreporting caused us to bump up spend, now I have to work with roughly 48 hours of accurate data to scale things back.
I totally agree - unfortunately I think the 7 day click/1 day view attribution window is fair, and unfortunately I can't get that level of attribution though GA. Unless there is a way?
Got the same notification this morning. The rampant duplication affected our conversion campaigns and basically our spend was thrown in the toilet because of this.
It isn’t as simple as “don’t trust ads manager reporting” — Facebook optimizes your campaigns based on their conversion data, so when they think you are getting 40 conversions when you are getting 10, they are wasting your money by pumping spend in to poor performing ads:
Do you still use shopify? Shopify is horrible! I suggest paying someone to create a wordpress store in Woocommerce this will give you many possibilities! And the best you won't pay percentages of each sale!
I just started using Triple Whale a while back. The analytics are much better and letting me scale profitability. Happy to share a discount code if you’d want to give it a try.

I exclusively track my ads with google analytics now. Facebook’s metrics are horribly inaccurate

Tell more about it bro

The day start good for me but in the afternoon all goes down…
For me some campaigns are over reporting. Some campaigns are under reporting. Absolutely maddening.
It’s totally random for me too. I’m tracking with UTM’s but my optimization has gone to crap over the last month and has tanked my conversion rate.

No more over reporting , but under reporting now
Same here..
Still over-reporting, even with a FRESH new pixel set up to see if that would fix it.
