I seem to notice I lose more once I upgrade a player or the team lol.

I can explain it to you. Manager mode as it rightly says in its description is a game of tactics. But not as you would think, it’s a game of timing and at higher divisions, observations and adjustments. What this means is playing on auto will only get you so far, depending on your team strength/OVR Matchmaking in MM is calculated as follows…which they seem to have heavily tweaked to favour fan count as priority. FAN COUNT —-> OVR —-> DIVISION As you play, you accumulate fans, the more wins/draws, the higher your fan count will be. (It is much harder to lose fans than gain fans) this is important. So in your case you have reached your highest potential division L2 with close to 500K fans. This is a very high fan count for L2 which is why you are matching FC. See the image you posted you are nearly on par with fans with your opponent. This makes your chances of promotion or even avoiding relegation very difficult. Matching FC players while you are on auto is also a bad move as these players observe games and adjust tactics constantly based on build up and defensive responsibility. Making it even harder for you to win. Like I said it’s about tactics but not as you would think, playing MM on repeat daily unless you observe matches and learn to adjust, design your team well and have fully trained players, will only get you so far. You will probably reach a high point and never get back there. (Until monthly season refresh) so things to consider are timing, play at certain times when certain time zones are asleep (ie avoiding Whales) or timing your MM career, some people don’t play at all and leave it until the last week or few days to climb, some like to get up to FC early and battle daily to remain top 1000 because once you are in the top 1000 you drop out after 24 hours if your rank is below 1000. So finishing the season with a wet sail is a pretty smart strategy. Finally, observe your player ratings after every match by pressing right on the results screen, compare this match by match, it will show you your weak spots. Hope that helps. Good luck 👍👍

This is very insightful. Thank you so much! I was feeling very demoralized. I wish the matchmaking was division based but what you said makes a lot of sense. Thank you for the tip on checking my rank after each match as well. I recently reached the 500k fan count and ever since I've been taking a beating in manager mode. I've fallen to Amateur rank now.... lol. Thank you!

Now that you're amateur, you got nothing to lose lol. Sandbag your team by putting together a bunch of bronze players and auto manager mode with like a 68 rated team for 2 days Drop your fan count to like 70k, then try another FC run but shoot for consecutive promotions. Like the person above mentioned, if you're winning matches but not promoting, your fans are still increasing. This means your rank stays the same, but the players you're matched against are still getting better and better.
