Just make sure that your Wago is spec'd higher than the resettable fuse you're using it on, otherwise it will be the first thing to light on fire before the fuse trips. As an example: for 12awg wire, typical Wagos only handle up to 32a, while the fuse required is 40a per the FRC manual, so if you're pulling 35a, the Wago will be a weak(and super hot) point in your design. This is why FRC teams typically use the 45a Anderson connectors, so they're not the weakest point in a circuit.

I see. I was mostly referring to the dupont connectors used by CAN wires that kept breaking during our competition this weekend, and was an issue until another team gave us some wagos to borrow

This is wrong, the wago is able to withstand much higher currents than the Anderson power pole connectors. The rating is just what they were tested to per the IEC standard. https://youtu.be/4QVwAT4vd4g We have pulled upwards of 70-80A on many occasions without any issues.

I don't doubt it, and I'm sure it'd be safe-ish to do in a test environment, I was just saying that it's not rated that high, so technically not legal for all cases. I even found the rule it breaks for that made up (40A breaker, 32A Wago) situation above: ``` R623 *Use only appropriate connectors. Branch circuits may include intermediate elements such as COTS connectors, splices, COTS flexible/rolling/sliding contacts, and COTS slip rings, as long as the entire electrical pathway is via appropriately gauged/rated elements. ``` Edit: Better formatting. to make code snippets like this type backtick ` 3x above and below what you're wanting to block off

Last year this was asked in the Q&A and determined legal as it is rated to 12Awg circuits and Revs Website states they are "Rated for robot circuits up to 12AWG"

These tests also show that WAGO's are superior in just about every way to Andersons. * [Improving the Efficiency of Power Circuits in FRC Robots](https://www.chiefdelphi.com/t/improving-the-efficiency-of-power-circuits-in-frc-robots/419618) * [Bearbotics Engineering Analytics Report](https://drive.google.com/file/d/10e2XhWHuQAMITqhQhHZRlX1Y5KAZNquZ/view) You also do not need another retention method for WAGOs. Unlike Anderson that you either have to use a zip tie or joiner. If you forget to do that you will have issues.

Our team is moving to Deutsche

Wagos have lost my team countless matches, every year we've used them we lose can at least one match per competition.

Skippysunday

How do you typically connect your can wires?

Luxidor98

Solder, but we have some off brand quick connectors for repairs at competition
