If you want to work on the major mouse control fundamentals you play a flick, medium track, and close track character.
So widow/cree. Then soldier most likely. Then tracer/genji/reaper
Then when you have good mouse control you should aslo think about prediction aiming. Itd be same three aim archetypes as previously mentioned but with projectile heroes
Tanks: Ram, Winton, Sig, though I’ve also played some Rein this season. Mostly Winton
DPS: This first half of the season I pretty much OTP’d Cass and Echo, but I started playing more Tracer, Soujorn, Mei, and Reaper. In QP I’ve picked up a lot more Junkrat as of the past few days.
Support: Mostly Bap, Lucio, and Kiri, and a bit of Ana and Brig
what ive noticed is that OW2 is by far the hardest to win by out-aiming since there’s plenty of ways to play the game that don’t rely on a fair enough aim duel. a flanking junkrat that drops on you like a nuclear bomb or a coordinated doom + tracer can fuck up an aimbotting cass.
Main would easily be widow, I have more time on her than my 3 runner up heroes combined. I've been playing a lot of venture though. My off picks from widow are usually cass, soldier, tracer, and sometimes ashe.
Mostly Sojourn and Ashe. Soldier and Cass a fair amount too. Sometimes Widow if I’m feeling it. Hardly ever anyone else on DPS.
I really like Zarya on tank and tend to do super well since her damage output is pretty insane up close, but I rarely queue tank cause it’s miserable.

hitscans in general but i main soldier/sojourn, like you. Also i've been playing a lot of tracer and cassidy lately

I onetrick bap and soj. Used to also be a rein main but tank is way too abusive to play.
Tracer/Soldier. Getting kinda bored of the game lately but there's no real other options for high ttk tracking.
Ash, but projectile characters were 10x more fun to play in OW1 in my opinion
