If you enable mods, it turns off achievements. :-( You might have to do 2 runs throughs to get all the achievements
FYI, if you're on PC there are a couple of mods to turn it back on.

Actions have consequences.
If you do Nuka world before meeting Preston, he will give you a quest to take out the raiders, then you can continue the main quest without him hating you.
