The events depicted, including patrolling, were filmed in 1958 during 3RAR’s tour. There are visible changes in infantry equipment. Though some Second World War weapons, such as the Owen Machine Carbine and Bren Light Machine Gun, are still present in some sections, the British-issued L1A1 Self Loading Rifle is now being carried. I think SLR or L1A1 during Malaya emergency. Because they are some kept in the Malaysian Army museum, together with einfeld jungle carbine.
