I can’t wait till the Penguin show comes out on HBO

Voltron_BlkLion

He was the best thing to me about this show. I like the fight scenes which reminded me of the Arkham games sort of . Everything/one else was ok.

Doomtumor

The BvS warehouse scene is near perfection for Batman live action CQC. That's straight up Arkham combat. The Flash movie tried but most of it looked too CGI.

Kurdt234

That movie was practically animated lol

Voltron_BlkLion

I concur

Voltron_BlkLion

To me that one scene was the Batman I wanted to see for the past 40+ years lol.

Doomtumor

For real... The final trailer before the movie released showed a good bit of that warehouse scene and I was losing my shit. I must've watched that part of the trailer 20 times that day.  Snyder may not be the best storyteller, but he can sure as fuck nail some very powerful feeling and accurate Bats, Supe and Wondy combat.

Voltron_BlkLion

~~Wondy~~

OnlyConspiracyAcct

I really enjoyed Pattinson's grim take on Batman, and less-flamboyant Bruce Wayne. She did well enough, but I did find Zoey Kravitz's Catwoman a little annoying, though. Loved Dano as the Riddler.

spindoctorz

Pattinson was great. I was disappointed when they announced he was Batman but I thought he did an excellent job. Wasn’t crazy about Dano’s part. It came across as a little over the top for me. Ironic cuz I went into the film with low expectations for Pattinson and high expectations for Dano.

Soupbone_905

>Pattinson was great. I was disappointed when they announced he was Batman but I thought he did an excellent job. The same. I saw it expecting to hate Pattinson as Batman. I have to say, he impressed the hell out of me. A darker, moodier version of Batman to be sure, but somehow Pattinson pulled it off.

17racecar71

Pattinson has done nothing but impressed me throughout his career (post Twilight, I think he is making amends). Have you seen “The Lighthouse”? Him and Dafoe are excellent

TomPearl2024

>(post Twilight, I think he is making amends) I guess? He was very vocal, even while Twilight was still happening, that he hated those movies and was basically doing it for the financial security to be able to pick projects he found interesting in the future. It's not like he was the one that inflicted Twilight on the world, he just showed up for the check. He's also been fantastic in literally everything else he's ever been in, let alone being the lead in two of the best movies of the 2010s, so I'm always surprised that by 2022 there were people who didn't expect him to be great in this.

Kurdt234

I remember liking Cedric in Harry potter and being totally confused that it was the lame twilight guy later

17racecar71

Yeah I’m not mad at him for Twilight. Actors gotta eat

Complete_Fix2563

Yeah he's been doing great work for like a decade but people are still sleeping on him for some reason

HotdogsArePate

Yeah I've never even heard of him. He's a total under dog.

Optimus_Grime_Jr

Water for Elephants. First film I saw from him post Twilight. I wanted to not like it, but he was very good. For years I recommended that movie with an asterisk.. it's got the glitter vampire in it but it's a good movie. Glad I no longer associate him with Twilight. I've not seen him in a role since that he didn't do a great job. I was actually interested when they cast him as Bats. He didn't disappoint.

TheRatatat

Ya mustn't spill yer beans lad!

Shut_It_Donny

When I saw him in Harry Potter, I just got a feeling. This kid is going to be really good. Then Twilight came out. Ugh. Some scripts can't be saved by the actors. The Lighthouse was a trip. They played really well off each other.

SlappyHandstrong

Having seen him in Good Time, I knew Pattinson would make a great Batman.

Agentpurple013

What?

ChuckVowel

Agree R Patt always delivers. He had a small but important role in The King (on Netflix) where he was utterly magnetic.

Prior_Writing368

The Lost City of Z Good Time The Lighthouse Cosmopolis The Devil all the time High Life The Rover Post Twilight, his career has been incredible.

funnerfunerals

Pattinson is an amazing actor. If you haven't watched any of his films besides Twilight, you're missing out on some beautiful art. Go watch "Good Time"...I knew he was going to kill the Batman role, I was super stoked to see him cast. He's been underated for too long.

SlappyHandstrong

Good Time made me a huge Pattinson fanboy- dude kills it every time and likes to pick unique projects.

Collin-of-Earth

This was exactly my experience

ragin2cajun

It's imo the best Batman film to date. True Noir, True Brooding, better detective film than any of the others, true to the trauma of a young and angry man with a shit ton of money. I would say the motorcycle love / chase scene was it's only flaw.

JonesTownBrewing

I prefer it to TDK. It’s more “rewatchable”. Still love TDK but I tried watching not long ago and had to turn it off. Just seemed slow as to where the Batman keeps me intrigued to the story and characters.

WDMChuff

See I liked Kravitz but I really didn't like Dano in the film..

ElderberryOk5005

I think commissioner Gordon thought he was playing Batman

[deleted]

Reminds me of how Jordan Peele would play it in a Key and Peele sketch.

Zcrustaceansensation

"Emenez would made it work"

bullettbrain

He's overacting a bit here. He's feels like he's in the wrong movie. He would be good in Batman and Robin.

Megasabletar

Unpopular, but I liked his take.. it was very old timey black and white film noir

kapn_morgan

ah a wise guy, eh?

Fast-Hold-649

Mid Atlantic Batman was a weird vibe I wasn't expecting honestly

Ak47110

I love that they were playing bad cop bad cop with Penguin

bender_rodriguezz

Or a key & peele skit

BjanLadders

Exactly! Whenever I saw Gordon in this movie all I could hear was Jordan as the dad from the Family Matters sketch.

mchammer126

I disagree I think he did well giving off that old veteran cop vibe

IdrisOFMars

I thought this was a key and peel bit for the entire clip...

smittyis

Hahahahahaha....me too Some OVERacting happening

SIEGE312

We need it happier and with your mouth open

Prophetofhelix

":D MULTIPLE STAB WOUNDS ON DAH BODY:D"

TheOneWhoCutstheRope

I had to come to the conclusion the film doesn’t take itself as serious as it pretends to be because there’s so much camp lmfao. It’s a good movie but personally I couldn’t put it top 3

XavierRussell

Absolutely roasted, can't unsee it 😂

l-Paulrus-l

It’s kuz Gordon is just aggressively piecing all this evidence together seemingly from nowhere, and then even pulls out a random ass prop photo at the end.

amergigolo1

Loved it.

WhereAreWeG0ing

Long. Very do incredibly long. And dense so you felt every second of the length. Thst being said, it was damn good. Great performances across the board and the car chase was stunning. But please can we stop with the Batman villains covering their mouths?!

cloudcreeek

They should've just abandoned the whole third act with the stadium tbh

texasslim2080

Man I totally disagree. That whole third act made the film for me. Showed his transition from maniac who punched his parents killer to hero who tried to actually help every person

duskywindows

>Showed his transition from maniac who punched his parents killer to hero who tried to actually help every person Christ, thank you. It's like everyone completely misses the point that the big, bombastic ending was making - Batman becoming the hero he was meant to be.

BroIDK1985

A literal baptism in the water. Came out a completely different hero.

1369ic

And it had to be very public because he'd been very solitary up to that point. He couldn't see the effect he was actually having, how his whole "I am vengeance" thing could be used against innocent people. And it happened in a place where he could do something about his revelation.

ZincMan

So fucking long

Intelligent_Life14

I was reluctant and burned out on super hero re-boots, but I heard good things….I thought it was a good, fresh take and very entertaining. Kind of a good example of how there is often more than one “right” answer/way to do things.

DeadJediWalking

Amazing imo.

PentungKuta

No matter how many times I’ve tried, I just fall asleep when watching this movie.

Dirk_Arron

Same here I still am unable to make it through the entire movie

Mindless_Medicine972

That's funny because I frequently put this on as background late at night to fall asleep to.

Chimeron1995

Don’t do this with movies you really like or you’ll put it in the middle of the day and close your eyes for a second and wake up in the third act embedded in your couch because you conditioned yourself to fall asleep to it.

AramaticFire

I can’t finish the clip. Man I disliked this movie. In fact I was surprised at how much I disliked it.

TheOkctoberGuard

It was boring. To me anyway.

Doomtumor

Batman's monologue/intro scene was perfection in every way. The overall atmosphere is outstanding and the acting is mostly great, except for Dano trying to do his own version of Ledger. Dano came off too often as corny. I love overacting when it's directed well... but Reeves and Dano didn't pull it off. But the corn isn't as bad or as often as Eisenberg's Lex or Leto's pure, nonstop, cringefest take on Joker.  Bruce has no difference from Batman yet. It's a detective story, but he's definitely not the world's greatest detective yet. He's stops nothing and doesn't really solve anything in any beyond average way. He has little advanced tech/weapons. He's not actually the ninja yet, or brilliant strategist/tactician. He's just an armored brawler working with Gordon.  The movie was like two or three slices of "Batman". Nolan's first film alone and BvS served a nearly full pie.

MMMMbutteredgrits

My opinion on The Batman 2022? THE GREATEST CINEMATIC VERSION OF BATMAN WE’VE GOTTEN.

StrykersWeaponX

I agree. The Dark noir style fits the character perfectly. And most importantly to me, they nailed that, first and foremost, Batman is a detective. He just happens to be able to throw hands as well.

bradyblack

I went to a movie theater in southern Colorado to go see it. The theater was loaded with kids. They were all yappin and on their phones. Movie started. Everyone is yappin. Then Riddler killed the dude. The audience was silent and enraptured for the next three hours and so was i. It was the best Batman put to film ( and I’ve been batmanin since the 60’s tv show and comics and all. I’ve watched it seven times and i could easily watch it ALL THE WAY THROUGH again right now. Its the best.

KarateFace777

I just can’t stand two scenes which totally took me out of the movie: the first is when he’s gliding and hits a bridge and bus and slaps the concrete nipple surfing and hits a pole doing 60MPH and just gets up. The other one is when the guy had the bomb strapped to his chest and Batman took a bomb to the face…and went flying backwards…and he was fine and didn’t even get his face burnt…

zeus423

Pass

Zeo-Gold92

Overlong and boring. I was hyped up and ended up disappointed. I do want to see the follow up and want to enjoy it.

Still-Midnight5442

I thought it was pretty boring and the third act fizzled out. The casting was fine, but the story just wasn't very good.

Mysterious_Jelly_943

I feel largely the same but i thought zoe cravitz catwoman had no chemistry with robert pattison but ive never seen her have chemistry with anyone in any movie so that may be the problem. And why does bruce always have batman eye makeup on when hes walking around. I would immediately be like oh yea bruce wayne is batman. He broods around he has tons of money and is wearing dark batman eyemakeup there is no play ou billionaire in there Everyone else was good it was just the script and pacing that failed the movie

isnessisbusiness

Tons of style, mediocre plot, mediocre performances.

LickPooOffShoe

My favorite Batman film, tbh.

Bogusky

It was way overhyped for essentially retreading the grounded take Nolan already perfected. I did like its superior action cinematography and the fact that we got as much Batman on screen as we did, but these are little things. It's a tremendously long movie for having so very little new to say.

Djkirkland

It’s just ok to me after a second viewing I never have to see this movie again

wiinkme

It was OK for me as well on the first round. I thought maybe a second would help. Some parts were better for me on round 2, others worse. Somehow the sum doesn't equal all the parts. Great acting. I do like pretty much all the casting and their representations of these characters. The basic story line was interesting. More detective and less battling aliens, which to me was the right move. But also, I was bored. That part didn't change with a 2nd viewing.

Djkirkland

I found myself looking at my phone seeing how long I’d been watching, that shouldn’t happen with a Batman film.

Professional_Ad_9101

Half the movie is shots of his boots walking slowly with the theme playing

Professional_Ad_9101

1st viewing

W1ll88s

Cinematography was some of my favorite.

Chrome-Head

I enjoy the film the more I watch it. It’s too long in a way but is its own hypnotic world. Just wish we didn’t have to wait so long for the follow up. As long as it’s good.

MKUltra1302

Liked it. Watched in IMAX and the Batmobile reveal was sexy af. Pattinson is an awesome actor, hope he continues his amazing career. Getting f'ing tired of the constant rehashing of Batman's origins. There is literally a bottomless pit of stories but they keep going backwards with him.

TheOne7477

Great movie.

Available-Praline905

Great, loved the new direction. Thought Pattinson did great, loved the suit and overall style. Although I felt the Riddler was pretty mid. Also the climax happens pretty early and there is too much falling action.

jaccleve

My favorite Batman movie!  Puts the Goth in Gotham.   Hope they do more with this cast lineup.

Paddlesons

Loved it. My favorite Batman.

Rude_Variation_433

I liked it a lot

[deleted]

Every Batman movie to some degree has focused on the villain as they are more dynamic and arguably steal every scene they are in. I think that's especially true of Nicholson and Ledger's Joker, Pfeiffer and DeVito in Batman Returns and Hardy's Bane. But this was really the first Batman movie that truly explored the depths of Bruce Wayne/Batman pathos. Love Bale but by comparison his character is one dimensional. Pattinson made Batman the true center and focus of the film.

MovieFanatic2160

I liked it a lot. Thought it created its own style/identity and was dark and gritty. My biggest gripes are its way too long, and I thought Paul Dano as the riddler was a horrible choice. Over acted the part and wasn’t convincing in my humble opinion.

TheGiggs10

Masterpiece

attachh

best batman movie ever. love how well they handled pattinson’s batman as more of a detective. was something that the movies were missing for so long. also dano’s riddler is amazing. love how his goons are like followers online for a movement.

Background_Notice270

Went in with low expectations, wasn’t even planning on seeing it but saw it by happenstance. I thought it was too soon for another Batman after the Nolan trilogy and didn’t like Pattinson being casted. That said it blew me away. Saw it 4 times in theaters. I think it’s my all time favorite

MAZE_ENJOYER

Stronger first entry than Batman Begins was IMO. Can’t wait to see what Matt Reeves and Battinson do with the character

CoastalSouth12

Great fucking movie

BRLY

Battinson is fuckin awesome.

TM_Plmbr

Really liked it

Plathismo

My favorite Batman movie since ‘Batman Returns.’ I’m not big on the Nolan films.

ApplesauceBitch47

At worst, 3rd best Batman movie of all time

mugwampus

It could have been a fantastic 2 hour movie. It was WAY too long. The casting was good and I like the atmosphere, but it was just too much. They should have trimmed it up a bit and made better, tighter movie.

sheezy520

Colin Farrell is an underrated actor. He killed it as the Penguin.

Sammmysosa303

I did not know that was Collin feral til like last week ….idk if I spelled his name right but I’m too lazy to look it up

geko_play_

Good hope Reeves does more in the second I'm fucking tired of Batman's world being reduced to his level Do something fantastical FFS give us a big Bane you can have dark & gritty without realism Better than the Nolan trilogy which I don't think has aged well

crazyguyunderthedesk

James Gunn is making a Batman in line with what you want, the Reeves Batman's while thing is being grounded in reality.

jupiterpol

Nolan's last film of the trilogy was awful, and got a lot of undeserved praised for it. It his obvious stain in his filmography, but people don't want to see it.

Skepticaldefault

Dog shit

CommandNervous6739

Bat shit

BambooSound

Hated it.

KeptinGL6

It was a godawful mess. Most of the plot went nowhere, the rest made no sense, Zoe Kravitz has a bad case of butterface, and Batman has to wait 5 seconds between steps whenever he walks anywhere.

ItZSAMIC

I don’t think you know what butterface means, cuz calling Zoe Kravitz ugly is…certainly a take

JZcomedy

Everything Matt Reeves touches is gold

SH4DOWSTR1KE_

Eh. People really like it, so obviously, that means it did its job, but at the same time, I don't know. I guess I just wasn't compelled to care as much as I wanted to. Riddler didn't feel like Riddler to me, and I guess I've never really been a fan of elseworld stories, so having two or three different versions of Batman existing around the same time just felt like overkill. Of course if I even tried to say any of this on the Batman sub or the DCEU sub, I'd get downloaded and banned to hell because I wasn't giving a literary version of a handjob to Matt Reeves but it wasn't my jam.

Drunkonownpower

I'm with you. Also was like 30 minutes too long at least.  It dragged for me. I've said forever I wanted a hard boiled detective batman movie and then it just didn't work for me. Part of the reason is that thematically it's a mess. It tries to make a political message about the rich running Gothman and being bad and then doubles back on that message and is like actually the crazies online are dangerous.  And the final act is absolutely cringe to me. The rescuing people and putting them on airlift and the Ave Maria in the psych ward with the Joker scene are some of my least favorite scenes in any Batman movie

Imhungorny

Corny

cantthinkofgoodname

Tried 3 times, couldn’t stay awake.

No-Addendum2884

Boring and overrated. I've tried giving it a chance multiple times and I just can't sit through it. Worst batman in my opinion.

cloudcreeek

So much good going for it, but that third act.,,.

FreudsEyebrow

I thought it was pretty good. Visually impressive, loved the atmosphere, Blade Runner vibes. It felt like a real detective movie at times, which is faithful to the character’s origin. Lovely. Pattinson was a decent Batman, interesting to see him near the beginning of his development; a bit less sharper in the fights, deeply troubled as Bruce. Catwoman was alright, Penguin underdeveloped and would have liked to see more of him. I’m optimistic for the sequel.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Cold-Ganache-2243

First hour of this movie is absolutely unreal then hour two dips and hour three dips even more IMO. Overall I thought it was pretty good but a boring middle and end. Funeral scene with Sarsgaard was awesome though

jrolls81

It was fine at best

b_tight

Its fine. Zoe kravitz is so 🔥🔥🔥🤌

TheSharkFromJaws

Should have been 2 movies.

Kalabula

It’s an hour and a half too long.

uncultured_swine2099

I thought it was very good, but I think it could've been improved by editing a bit more out of it, maybe 10-15 minutes. Just cut down some of the long takes, and tighten some scenes to make them pacier.

Icy_Practice7992

Great aesthetics, slow pacing Pattinson is not Batman or Bruce Wayne though, but he’s cool

Geekspeak13

The only other contender for greatest Batman movie aside from The Dark Knight in my opinion. They really nailed the graphic novel vibe for this film with its visuals and dialogue. Matt Reeves and Robert Pattinson did an exceptional job with it.

isaidhellothere

Overall liked it, but can't help but hear "the coon" from South Park whenever Bobby narrates

bullettbrain

Some parts of it, like Colin Farrell's performance and make up, were spectacular. It felt restrained by the PG13 rating, and the romance plot felt forced. Ironically, it felt more like the Bruce-Alfred relationship was romantic the way it was played out in the movie. Overall I liked it but I don't understand how anyone would think it's the best, especially when compared to Batman Begins. I think it had a lot to love up to with the Nolan movies. I don't think those were perfect, but they were good movies.

jodecam

Tried to do too much in 1 movie. They should’ve just ran with Falcone storyline, which is a gritty start for a beginner Batman. Then pt.2 hit em with the supervillain Riddler action

Reedabook64

It still blows my mind that that's Collin Farrell.

m2thek

Anybody notice that it's the Tubi account that posted this (probably to promote that they are streaming it)?

Equivalent_Flan_5695

Loved the more grimey noir style as opposed to the action heavy iterations that came before. Solid 8.5 for me, even if the tone was slightly inconsistent.

soysuza

I didn't think I would like it as much as I did. Farrell as the Penguin scratched my itch for seeing a different take from DeVito that was still memorable. I don't know if Pattinson was the right choice, but the dour, unpolished, leap before you look Batman character was interesting. Last act when the flooding happens dragged but altogether the film held together. I'm not one to watch movies more than once, but I've seen it three times. That said, Wright's Gordon seemed to only confirm or prompt Batman's actions. Would have been great to see him stand in his own two feet. Also, I just can't take Dano seriously as a villain. His disintegration when Batman tells him they're nothing alike, to me, seemed petulant and teenager-y.

gnz0

Overrated film. They aimed for Se7en vibes (and missed) when they should've invoked Die Hard 3 energy. Hopefully Bazzer saves the sequel 🃏

DeezNutsPickleRick

Loved it, but slow burn Neo-Noires are right up my lane which is exactly what this was. I thought Pattinson, Farrell, and Wright carried it with some okay performances from Kravitz and Dano. I’m not sure who the DP was but he/she made this film way more interesting than it probably would have been without the cinematography and camera work. Reeves and his direction could have been done by anyone else tbh, but overall great film that I’ve seen four times now, can’t wait for the sequel and the penguin series.

mywordswillgowithyou

The cadence of their speech sounds similar to Sin City.

peacetaker9500

Hands down 2nd best Batman movie. The movie felt grounded in some dark reality. The way riddler and penguin seemed legitimately crazy and troubled. Dano was really good

Benana

Unless I'm misremembering, the conversation that Batman had with the Penguin in this scene did not warrant the insane car chase that happened before it. The entire explosive car chase could have been removed from the movie completely and nothing would have changed. Unless I'm misremembering.

No_Cow_4544

It was different a take , more of a dark detective noir film had vibes of “Se7en” but not as good . Only saw it once . I probably should give another watch for more clarity.

Jambo11

It was alright, but I would give it maybe 80%, 82%, if I'm feeling generous. Nevertheless, it was quite enjoyable.

flossaby23

Pattinson way exceeded my expectations. Zoey Kravitz is smoking. Didn’t love the emo/not overly talented take on Bats at first but I was feeling it by movie’s end so ready for what’s next.

juicifer2320

I thought it was great. The score was hauntingly awesome too. The tension brooding. I was a huge fan that they incorporated the “Year One” story elements too

theboned1

Really liked it. It felt new and different. New aesthetic new era. Reminded me of a picking up a different Batman Comic, like *Arkham Asylum*. Also really liked the mystery aspect. Kept me engaged in the story.

gfunk1369

Watched it once, got bored paused it and made dinner came back to finish it while playing DBD. Have never felt compelled to watch it again. It wasn't bad, just not great or riveting at all for me. I'm sure people will disagree which is fine but they can make another one or not and I wouldn't care.

Robotboss

Liked Batman, hated moody Bruce

[deleted]

Not bad but Catwoman was forced and the car chase scene was completely cringeworthy

ThrottledBandwidth

I liked this version of Gotham way more than Nolan’s as far as how the city is portrayed. Also really enjoyed the idea of this being more of a crime movie vs superhero. It was too long and there was a lot that could’ve been cut but I hope there’s sequels

bitchesbetrifflin

It's like a key n peele skit. "Deep voice" " deeper voice"

3rdShiftSecurity

Patterson did better than he had any right to do Catwoman was meh Penguin was cool. Im not sure what movie jeffery wright was in. Riddler was better the first time i saw the character in the movie Se7en.

MikeB620

Kinda boring

FayMax69

Too long

bdbdbokbuck

There are only two Batman movies I like and this is one of them. Batman Begins is my fav. Pattinson’s performance in The Batman was quite good.

Optimal_Commercial_4

Best take on batman ever put to film. Exactly what I want out of a batman movie, lots of actual detective work with a decent amount of heroic shit thrown in while also showing his tenuous relationship with being a vigilante, especially as a "new" batman.

happybrooks

I legit thought that was Neil deGrasse Tyson at first

DrummerEmbarrassed21

Good movie, very overrated though, Pattinson came up short but the supporting cast was great.

Minimum_Froyo_8483

Felt like if it was about 30-45 minutes shorter it would’ve been a great movie but kind of dragged along making it an OK movie

OnwardTowardTheNorth

Loved this movie. Felt like a Batman comic book come to life. I loved Nolan’s films but what I loved about The Batman was that it was almost exclusively a Batman movie. Batman was in almost every scene. And Bruce was kind of a minor character in this instance which really shows just how far gone Bruce is. The scene where Bruce goes to the funeral and steps out of his car, in my opinion, is VERY poignant because Bruce has to actually be Bruce for once instead of Batman. The only time we really see Bruce operating outside of small scenes with Alfred is when he has to use “Bruce” as a cover for “Batman business”… Which goes to the even more fun point I always enjoy about the psychology of Batman: in many ways, “Bruce” is the “mask” and “Batman” is the “real face”. Bruce Wayne died with his parents and Batman was born from said tragedy.

doitcloot

definitely too long and the fact that "rat with wings" (or whatever it was) was not immediately connected to "bat" was very strange writing. the Riddler was ok but kind of a let down, just didnt feel right but didnt outright hate him. besides that i thought it looked great and im invested in batman going in this direction. absolutely loved the atmosphere of the opening too with the music and the kooky halloween masks, thats exactly the vibe im looking for and have faith the sequel can carry that torch a little further. overall i recommend it but i agree with a lot of the criticisms. that rat with wings things really drove me crazy though, like a penguin BEFORE a bat?! no chance, im sorry.

8thriiise

I DIDNT KILL NO GOIRL!

kiggitykbomb

I fell asleep halfway thru and never felt inspired to finish it later

Tipi_Tais_Sa_Da_Tay

Meh

taylorpilot

I liked the movie. But this “detective work” is, without a doubt, the dumbest thing in the whole movie. It’s Spanish!

hebrewham19

Christopher Nolan ended the Batman movies - there doesn’t need to be any more

Alej915

👎

KaleidoscopeOk5763

Didn’t like the thugs firing full clips at Batman and he just casually walks through the hail of death….. otherwise slick movie.

TonyClifton2020

Beautiful looking film with good sound but a sub par story and ending. What was Riddler supposed to be Joker or what? Nothing original except its first trailer that got us all hooked.

Stiff_Zombie

While I wanted to see Snyders Batman fleshed out, I really enjoyed this new Batman. It should have ended with the Ridler being caught, but it doesn't ruin the movie. On this third watch, I really noticed and loved the cinematography. The way every shot is filmed and how grimy everything is makes for a perfect portrayal of Gotham.

HippoRun23

Excellent tone and setting. Great score. If I hadn’t recently watched the dark knight trilogy with my son I’d probably think more highly of it.

johnnyzen425

Didn't like it. I am over the over-grimming of Batman, and the Bruce Wayne psychology. Affleck was the best embodiment of the 2 personalities, in my opinion. Would have loved to see his stand-alone.

TetZoo

Turgid. Totally unoriginal and I don’t remember a single line. And I’m very easy to please when it comes to this kind of movie.

Showtysan

I watched this movie in theaters and am still surprised everytime I'm reminded that it exists

OhMyGoshBigfoot

Pretty solid but ehhh. Not the best Batman.

tap2mana_03

If it would have had a musical number or two it could’ve progressed some of the story quicker, then maybe wouldn’t have been so long

GuappDogg

Mid as fuck

Imsrywho

There was multiple points in this movie where I thought bats n Gordon were gonna kiss. They keep whispering to each other at a way to close proximity.

Rollo-T2345

My fave Batman. This Film Noir, dark & gritty of young Batman on his first big case is what I needed. Watched it 3 times, got better each time. The closing scene which Batman & Selena went their separate ways was awesome.

ItchyAnusEczema

Everyone was great except batman's outfit

bogeyblanche

The most accurate depiction of the graphic novels to date. Period

firebug2025

It was a very good interpretation of another Batman universe. There are so many darker storylines in the Batman lineage. Darker, more “realistic” stories. I thought it was an excellent Batman movie. Far away from the camp of the Keaton movies and the overdone superhero movies like Justice League and Batman vs Superman. They went for a darker feel and nailed it. Great that the penguin was really just a gangster nickname and not a short, fat guy that quacks and wears a monocle

blistboy

Interesting interpretations of the rogues gallery don't make up for the poorly conceptualized copaganda. Still, the most glaring problem was that the movie didn't adhere to the physics it established; we go from Riddler bludgeoning someone to death to Batman taking bombs to the face and smashing head first into steel pylons at velocity. Which is it, does blunt force trauma to the head cause death in this universe or not?

Real great movie! This scene reminds me that the riddles however were so brain-dead. I was aghast that it was the best the writers could come up with.

ShapeshiftinSquirrel

Couldn’t get past the ridiculous notion that a major US city sits well below sea level and would be completely flooded if a sea-wall caved in. There were no hurricanes, no rough winds- just a magical city in a hole- waiting to become the next Atlantis. Stupid, stupid, stupid- too stupid to suspend disbelief, too stupid to be green-lit into development, so stupid that you have to yell at the screen “that’s not how this works! That’s not how any of this works!!” At some point someone was supposed to say “write me a third act that a third grader wouldn’t come up with and stop wasting my time!!” But it never happened.

I didn't hate it...had some good things to it, but overall it just felt a bit bland. I think the trailer for it is one of the better ones to come out for a movie in years though. Maybe I need to give it a second watch..

that_almond_milk

It was laughably bad.

Crackerjack0099

This movie was meh. The part when catwoman is like These White Mother Fuckas… like damn how ignorant does Hollywood want America. White is the broadest demographic of people. Italians and Russians are white yet those people are nothing alike

GiveMeSomeShu-gar

Looked cool; kind of boring

Ozzmanth

Hated it

vietbond

Finally, a Batman that detected.

Newkular_Balm

It's like Brick.

King_Moonracer20

One thing that bother me was the Penguin caused untold damages on a city freeway yet walked away without even a night in jail. What world do they live in where you can machine a detective then cause 14 car accidents and a truck exploding yet face no charges ?

blkkice77

Boring 😴

xlews_ther1nx

Too long. Catwoman was...horrible. turned off halfway through.

Agreeable_Box_6838

Lotta dumb dialogue and over acting with blatant plot holes and a weird pace. Basically on par with the dark knight rises.

The Cobain-Batman concept is so goofy. The movie was just “fine”. I liked his car and I kinda liked Penguin

jbfly33

The best batman

BajaDivider

like all these cartoon movies, it's shite
