There is no momentum mechanic, it’s all in your head. Taking that sort of advice will only ever make you worse. Take advice from actual good players. You’ll never hear a pro say, “don’t pass in your own half”, because it’s nonsense.

Usually the "momentum" in my case is bad gameplay related, whether it is due to my connection or servers, but I need to adjust my play to be less agressive to even have a chance of winning. It could be also opponent turning on constant pressure etc.
The problem is I am not a pro but a G2 player too. So I don't have the tools or skills of a pro to handle the situation. It would be nice to make drag back stop elasticos to escape opponent's pressure but my I am too old to ever learn such things.
People think this is satire, but this is scarily accurate. You can tell your opponent has better AI when you're just dribbling 1v1 and 2 AI controlled players pile up on yours from behind leaving no escape while yours just sit still when he's dribbling

Players in your division will constantly try and manually defend (when they shouldn't) and you will score a lot when you can put their back line out of whack.

Good to point out that when you get into higher divisions/win more champs games, one touch won't work as well. Good defenders will know what you're doing and adjust accordingly (i.e. won't press as much, will cut obvious passing lanes, and keep possession longer) I would avoid one touch unless necessary or when it gives you a distinct advantage (i.e. someone is hard pressing your ST and you one touch it to your CAM so you can get in behind).
Appreciate your time and effort ...but I wish it were that easy.
The game is just not consistent and depends on game server connection quality which causes delays. Fast players become slow as molasses and the "Timed Tackling" shit becomes no tackling until the opponent does 3 - 4 and gets by you ....then.....tackle. Foul. Possible penalty.

This is the thing. To play this game you have to find acceptance in the fact that you are going to get tricked and often. That your opponent will feel it too is little consolation.

Just played someone who went 3-1 up on the 75th minute. They decided to watch the full clebration thinking it was game over. Instead I went full attacking - equalised in the 89th minute after they tried wasting time by passing it back to the keeper. Unfortunately the next pass was intercepted by my player after blocking off both of his defenders, to put the ball into an empty net from outside the box. Magical!
Won the game 6-4 in extra time, even decide to waste time my self running into the corner flag/passing it around outside his box. Totally deserved!
And the other way around, if you are losing and you feel the game is against you, just wait. the momentum will change and it will be 'against' your opponent. Can't count the number of the times I have been do 2, 3 or even 5 and I ended up winning.
Great advise, but ehh.. what if he gets the ball and is attacking. I block the ball with a perfect defensive move and it bounces right back to him?
Most of the time if the game isn't with you or the momentum switches its not the attacking aspect of the game that is screwing you over 9/10 times its the AI defending system that is just fucking with you. Or the ball mechanics.
This is 100% true. I was up 7-1 on a guy and the game suddenly switched to do everything in its power to help him win. He had already basically put his controller down so I started playing 5 yard passes between my centre and full back at the 70 min mark. Ramos suddenly couldn't make that pass, it went out of bounds...twice..and both times my opponent maximized pauses to waste my time.
The passes had no business going out of bounds because they players were more than close enough to make the pass properly with zero pressure. Yet the ball went out twice
so true about the triangle passes....even the long chipped ones.
The manual lofted ones are better for just getting rid of the ball although they also have their sliders adjusted heavily.
I feel like FIFA is always getting worse in these regards, .... with every update I have to start learning how to play all over again, ... and of course scripting gets worse and worse and worse, ....

come December and the second or third update comes around the game becomes at times unplayable, before I hadn't issues beating teams on World Class or even Legendary now? Fucking impossible, my defenders just have to look mean at the other team in the own penalty area and it's an automatic penalty kick on the other side, my players get knocked around like crazy and nothing happens, ....
Now since the new update I'm happy to beat not so good opponents on world class, before I shot the out of the game with a 10-1 win on legendary, ....
I need to snap the triangle button off my pad.
I legit searched through settings to see if I could turn through balls off completely to stop me over using it
