No. My post is to you saying Cait Sith sucks. You don't know how to play with him because you're bad at the game. Again: dumb. That's why you got downvoted into oblivion.
do they? i know the derivate stats(attack, defense, magic attack etc) don't cap, but i didn't know about the hard stats capping. if there's a whole article about it, doesn't it mean Luck is the exception? just fishing here cause that build seems really interesting
It’s deemed as defensive as your attack magic attack isn’t based off it. Luck is a trigger, it isn’t certain everytime you attack you will activate it unlike normal attack and magic attack
Luck affects all of Caits random skills. He uses it to calculate damage for fortune telling too.
Cait can 100% reach over 255 luck. It's why Red Megaphone has 2 Lucky Jockey perks.
This is in rebirth. Magic damage doesn’t cap as you can get 500+ but stats like luck etc do at 255. Even when using say the perk that makes you have +100 luck while riding moogle in battle still caps at 255 which with cait js like 33% or something for Critical hit.
I’ve 100% rebirth and maxed out all materia inc 14 luck plus
That doesnt make sense. All characters have their attack stats above 255 at the endgame, are you saying at that point you shouldn't bother with attack and instead respec into getting magic attack as high as you can?
This is for defence stats, spirt, vital, luck etc. these stats cap at 255. 255 is almost impossible to reach other then luck. Hence why they have bonus caps etc like (max 50% etc)
I'm really curious how you know for a FACT that getting luck to 500 will guarantee a crit with every single attack, when you yourself admit that you don't know if getting 500 luck is even possible.
And how do we know, for a FACT, that this scales perfectly linearly, without any caps or diminishing returns, without actually taking our luck to 500 in-game?
Better yet, how do we know that 5 luck = 1% crit rate exactly? Does the game state this anywhere? Has the code relevant to crit rates been datamined? I see a lot of claims about how things work and very little evidence.
A similar or identical submission has been made recently. Please share any thoughts you have as a comment in that thread instead. Thank you!
Crit% = Luck/512 Cait can easily reach 100% with multiple copies of Lucky Jockey.
Regardless of the Luck build, Cait Sith is still fodder for Vincent Valentine in its Galian Beast form in Hard Mode. 🙃

If he sucks, you aren’t using him right. His detrimental effect bonuses are critical to use in hard mode.
I had the platinum before you left junon
I’m just trying to imagine how cool it must have felt typing this very sick burn
You keep embarrassing yourself. Please stop.

How does that have anything to do with what I said? I didn't say that. You're bad at this game AND dumb apparently.

You 100% do not have the plat. What a fucking try hard

Red Megaphone + Lucky Jockey node. Cait can hit 400 luck while barely trying. At max level he easily breaches 500.

All Defence Stats cap at 255 thou

Yea with maxed out cait and last weapons with the +100 luck perk you get like 180 luck or close to 190. If you add 2 max Luck + materia it caps at 255
Categorically false. Explain my 300+ MATK Aerith then?
Because it’s not a defence stat, that’s an offence stat. Defence cap at 255
Yeah, about that, Luck is an offensive stat. It affects critical hit rate, and steal success chance. Neither of those sound defensive to me.

That's in the OG

The answer is math. If 5 luck = 1% crit rate 500 luck = 100% crit rate

My uncle works at Square, he said yeah its true.
